So definitely sprinkle about 1/4inch of dirt over the lanky part while it is laying over. You have some pros and cons of doing this and some can be looked at either way. Cannabis is awesome at something called air layering. Meaning if it’s stem touches dirt for awhile, the stem throws off roots. It’s how the plant survives in nature if it falls or gets knocked over. So if you lay it over, gently cover with dirt, and give it boatloads of love, you should be good. That being said, that plant will obviously be much more squat than the others. IMO it will be a better plant that is squat and strong as opposed to being tall, lanky, and giving you continuous problems with growth. Also, the more roots you have, the more nutes the plant can absorb from the grow media, and the better the overall smoke.
