This is my first grow, so she's of course my favorite ever. She's not cured yet, but when I tested a larf quick dried bud, I got plenty stoned! She starts with a very clear head, and I literally felt the high spread down my body as a tingling rush. That was something very different - and I've been smoking for about 45 years now. She was very easy to grow, even for a nervous newbie, and though she topped out quite small at only 20 inches, she produced 2.19 dry oz of powerful weed. I'm sure I'll be even happier once she's cured - which I'm doing in a Grove Bag. I'm also cooking her sugar leaves which were stiff with trichomes, I'm going to make some decent cannabutter.
I didn't use as much of the base nutrients as I thought as I was using a Pot for Pot system which had nutes in the "Superb Soil". I did use the ancillary products, including the bloom boosters. I must say she did very well for such a little thing.
I was a bit concerned that this light might be underpowered, but it did a great job producing a fine plant for my first grow. It was easy to keep the temperatures under control and having the dimming knob right on front of the light made dialing in my DLI super simple. (I found that keeping DLI proper is one of the most important things to do, next to not overwatering!) I will continue to use this light in my "small"tent for quick auto runs.
I found this tent quite easy to use, the zipper was quite good. I grew an auto so I didn't have to worry about light leaks, but I didn't observe any over the duration of the grow. The tent loses one point for missing two features - 1) a duct at the bottom of the tent, I would have preferred to run my fan at ground level rather than top down; 2) no "window". If I wanted to check on her, I had to open the tent completely.
Other than those small quibbles, I found this tent to be easy to set up and use.
This was my very first grow, so I have nothing to compare against, but I was a nervous newbie yet I managed to grow a very healthy beautiful plant that yielded 2.19 dry in under 80 days. I am a former science teacher with a lot of experience growing all kinds of plants (except cannabis!) and I've never seen a plant grow from seed to full maturity this quickly. She was a beautiful little jewel of a plant, fragrant and dense and very strong - the only problem she ever had was because I decided she needed "extra" food. Now I know how to trust the plant to tell me what she needs, and I look forward to repeating my success with her three sisters who are currently sprouting.
As far as Grow Diaries is concerned, I love the format here with plenty of equipment and nutrient choices listed so I could keep track of every detail of this grow. I found the site after she had sprouted, but kept daily records of her development after I started. I now have an excellent record - and very well documented with plenty of photos! - that will give me lots to refer back to as I work on my second grow. I have recommended the site to a couple of grow buddies, and I hope the site continues to thrive, it is an excellent resource!
Finally, thank you to all who followed along, and offered advice and encouragement along the way. I hope to return the favor in the future!
My plant was flushed last week and has now used all the water from that. She showed some curling tips this morning. Any ideas what's going on? Light set for 40 DLI. If she needs something, I want to add it today while she's thirsty. Thank you for your help!
Cannabis can take 60DIL and above in most test settings.
curling leaves is heat stress though. however 26c is not that hot. and humidity is proper.
It does seem to only be the upper leaves of the plant vs the bottom.
It could be that the highest tips of the plants are experiencing higher temps then the rest of the tent.
where is your sensor located to monitor temps? do you have an extra one for fault checking?
week 5 was 18" distance from lamp and this 8th week its 12" this could be the main cause of this extra stress.
at what height was the 40DIL calculated with your setup? maybe need to return it back to its older settings.
Best of luck
@KingSalomonsWeed, Thank you I will! I have to get my statistics down first, I think? She is drying low and slow in her tent.
That cola is 10 inches long, and 4-5 wide on a 20 inch tall plant. I'm thrilled at my first grow!
Hi! i dont think you should worry about the curling leave at this time as she is showing signs of immobile nutrient deficiency.
I would suggest you to give her Calcium and avoid as much as you can to leave your plant to suck up all water from the soil.. Keep it moist.
I hope it helps. ๐
@moafya, Thank you very much! She is due for her water today, I do have a Mag/Cal I can use. I plan to also use Recharge, as she had an emergency flush last week when I foolishly gave too much Nitrogen.
