12/19/21 Day 41 - Lucy is closing out week 6 strong. She has stopped growing vertically - she topped out at 19.25 - but she's starting to bulk up. I observed that her bracts are staring to swell up. She's still putting out a lot of pistils, and the lower buds are getting secondary branches. She had her last water Friday - without BC Boost and Bloom - and is using about a pound to a pound and a half a day. She will quite likely need more tomorrow. Her scent is intensifying and she smells quite irresistible now - sweet and skunky at the same time. I suspect we're getting into the final lap here, and think that she probably has two weeks left. Let's see how well my prediction goes!
12/20/21 Day 42 - Last day of her 6th week and she went crazy making new flowers overnight! She also drank nearly all of her water. She felt really light to me this morning, but rechecking with the moisture meters shows still with some moisture down the bottom of the pot so I'll hold off till later today. She's getting her full nutes today b/c her fan leaves are looking a bit pale to me. Want to be sure she's getting everything she needs while she's working this hard.
12/21 Day 43 - Starting calendar week 7. She had her A schedule nutes today, upped the strength on them to 3/4 this time. I think it's time to turn down the lights a bit, I've been running with DLI of 50 so far this week. She is a beautiful little jewel of a plant, and is smelling up a storm now. A leaf brushed against my hand when I lifted her today and I can still smell it on the back of my hand an hour later. I'm impressed. While due to her size, her yield will be limited, I think it's going to be some excellent smoke.
12/21 PM - Well, that was a rookie mistake. She immediately showed me she was unhappy with her feed - leaf tip burn. Very slight, but oh no! So I flushed her, PPMs at around 1000 from run off. Her pot is now a shocking 17.6 lbs, which is how I learned I've never had this pot completely wet. I checked her again a while later to be sure she wasn't sitting in water (I had let her drain sitting on a crate for a while before retenting her) and all was good. She looked perfectly content, no drooping or "sulking". I believe I dodged that bullet and I'm very happy she let me know right away she was unhappy. I will add Rechange the next time she needs water, which will be heaven knows when!
12/22 Day 44 That was a rough night for me, my poor girl. Not happy to have made such a careless mistake, but she's looking ok this morning. No drooping, no further issues with her leaves and the top of the plant seems to have escaped the damage. Her pot was 16.2, so over a pound down from last night. Humidifier is off for now, the RH is 35 which will be fine while she is "drying out". A reminder to myself: this strain does not like a lot of nutes. In the future, I'll keep the feeds at 1/2 strength, or perhaps a bit less. I'm glad I fuss over her constantly so I picked this up as quickly as I did.
12/23 Day 45. Lucy seems to have entirely forgiven me. Pot was at 13.4 this morning so we're using a lot of water. Finally turned the humidifier back on as the air RH was only 25% today. She smells wonderful. Took a few glamor shots and tucked her back into her tent to focus on ALL THE FLOWERS!
12/24 Day 46. All is well with Lucy today. She continues to develop her buds nicely. The smell is just delightful tonight. She's down to 11 lbs from 17.6 3 days ago, so she's really drinking up her water.
12/25 Day 47. Merry Christmas! Lucy is happily celebrating by snowing all over herself and bulking up her buds. Water wt 10.2 this morning, we're coming along nicely.
My plant was flushed last week and has now used all the water from that. She showed some curling tips this morning. Any ideas what's going on? Light set for 40 DLI. If she needs something, I want to add it today while she's thirsty. Thank you for your help!
Cannabis can take 60DIL and above in most test settings.
curling leaves is heat stress though. however 26c is not that hot. and humidity is proper.
It does seem to only be the upper leaves of the plant vs the bottom.
It could be that the highest tips of the plants are experiencing higher temps then the rest of the tent.
where is your sensor located to monitor temps? do you have an extra one for fault checking?
week 5 was 18" distance from lamp and this 8th week its 12" this could be the main cause of this extra stress.
at what height was the 40DIL calculated with your setup? maybe need to return it back to its older settings.
Best of luck
@KingSalomonsWeed, Thank you I will! I have to get my statistics down first, I think? She is drying low and slow in her tent.
That cola is 10 inches long, and 4-5 wide on a 20 inch tall plant. I'm thrilled at my first grow!
Hi! i dont think you should worry about the curling leave at this time as she is showing signs of immobile nutrient deficiency.
I would suggest you to give her Calcium and avoid as much as you can to leave your plant to suck up all water from the soil.. Keep it moist.
I hope it helps. ๐
@moafya, Thank you very much! She is due for her water today, I do have a Mag/Cal I can use. I plan to also use Recharge, as she had an emergency flush last week when I foolishly gave too much Nitrogen.
