Here I’m growing a photoperiod feminised Cookies Gelato from Royal Queen Seeds.
This seed has been in my drawer for about 2 years.
I’ll be growing it alongside my autos until I run out of space at which point I’ll be moving her to her own dedicated grow space.
I soaked it in a cup of water overnight and then put it in wet tissue on a plate and covered the plate with cling film.
It took 3 days to grow the tap root shown in the picture.
I’ve gone ahead and planted it into the soil.
Now I wait 🤞
Wow I’m really surprised at how much this has grown in 7 days… what a beast 😆 lol.
Although the bottom leaves look a bit wavy, I think I’ve found my preferred lamp distance/intensity for my seedlings.
I hope growth will continue at this rate with no issues🤞
The cookies gelato is doing ok.
I’ve not done anything noteworthy this week really.
Her large wavy leaves remind me of lettuce 😂..
This is a personal record for me in terms of size and node amount by the end of week 2! 🍻
I have a feeling she’s going to be B.I.G
This cookies gelato girl from RQS is coping well but starting to stress out a bit under the same conditions as my other plants.
I gave a foliar feed made with water and 1.5ml/L each of Fish Mix and Acti Vera, pH’d to 6.6.
She seems to have suffered light stress as well as overwatering stress and deficiency..
I’m putting her on the window sill for now where she can just chill for a bit while I make her a new home.
I’m either going to SCROG this lil nipper when the time comes or take cuttings for a SOG. Not yet decided…
🤞✌️
This girl has been virtually dormant whilst being on a windowsill with no direct light for the past 6 or something weeks.
I’m going to carry on the diary from where I left off on week 3 for the sake of simplicity.
She’s been transplanted into a 3L pot and put back into my tent on her own. I didn’t make another grow space for her because of various reasons so this is where I’m at now.
I repotted this week into some fresh light mix.
Did some training a few days later.
Only gave her water and microbes this week.
She’s a bushy one for sure and I’m happy with the rate of growth so far.
✌️
I defoliated lightly on Monday.
I’ve also been making adjustments to the canopy throughout the week, removing or tucking any leaves blocking potential flower sites as well as tying down any branches that get too tall.
She had just water on Tuesday and then the nutrients as shown above on Saturday.
👍👁️
Everything seems to be going good at the moment.
I defoliated at the start of the week before flipping to 12/12.
Removed pretty much all lower growth, fan leaves and branches that I didn’t think would make it to the top of the canopy and left about 3 nodes on each top.
I also dropped the average relative humidity to 50%.
🙂✌️
So far so good! She started making pistils this week and has been doing great 👍
It’s been hot as hell the past week but this girl has handled it like a champ 💪
Her fan leaves have pretty long stems and some of them are blocking other bud sites so I’m gonna put a net over her to spread her out a little more and give her a final bit of defoliation at the end of next week.
I think this one is on the right track.
She stretched a bit more than I wanted this week but she’s already producing resin and giving off a nice aroma.
I’m cutting back on the bio-grow from next week cos I don’t think she needs so much judging by the shade of green she is right now.
Have a good week growers
She’s doing ok!
I defoliated heavily on Monday and now she’s looking a little bit bare..
But I’m happy with how she has progressed through the week.
I dialled back the bio-grow and increased the bloom. I also cut out the bio silicon.
Next week I’ll be introducing sea-silica for the rest of the flowering stage.
Have a good week growers
She seems happy.
It’s been another good week of growth.
I’m cutting out the bio-grow completely for next week. I might give her some later in the grow if she looks like she needs it.
Also, I’m gonna dial back the bio-bloom back to 2ml/L.
Her buds are increasing in size and the smell is getting stronger.
I feel like I might be about a week behind in terms of flower due to the stress from such heavy defoliation and losing most of her fan leaves, but overall I’m happy with how she’s coming along.
Thank you for the likes and support 🙌
Have a good week growers 🍻💥
It’s been a good week for this girl.
She seems to be fattening up a little bit.
She’s got about 3 maybe 4 weeks left and the smell is already really nice and sweet with a gassy undertone.
She’ll be getting increased doses of top max from next week.
That’s all for now. ✌️
Have a good week growers.🍻💥
The stench coming off this plant is unbelievable. When I open the tent, the smell slaps me in the face and instantly fills the room with funky sweet goodness. 😆
RQS says this strain takes 9 weeks of flower but she had a major defoliation during early bloom so we’ll see. Maybe I’ll give her an extra week.
Thanks for stopping by growmies 🙏
Have a good week 🙌💥
It’s been another good week for this stinking lady.
She’s doing good! I do think I gave her too much cal mag though so I stopped giving her any this week.
I’m gonna let her fatten up a little more. I’ll start checking trichomes next week and when she’s ready she can start her final week on a pH’d mix of just water and flawless finish.
That’s all for now,
Have a great week growers
So here we are at the end of week 9 of flower and she’s starting to use up her reserves and displaying some nice dark purplish colours on some of her leaves.
The buds are looking good, however I’ve misplaced my pocket microscope so can’t look at her trichomes until a new one arrives from Amazon. I don’t have prime so by the time it comes she’ll probably be ready to chop anyway. I’ll finish up the fade with a few waterings of just water and flawless finish before harvest.
I’m gonna remove more fan leaves for the last phase because I believe it’ll help with lower bud fattening as well as speed up the process of using up the reserve nutrients stored in the plants leaves.
The aroma coming off her is incredibly pungent and sour with a peppery minty undertone. Amazing! 🤩
That’s all for this update 🤓
Thanks for stopping by 👍
Have a great week growers 🍻 🙌💥
Well we made it to the end of flower with no major problems!
I didn’t end up removing any fan leaves for the last week and ended up just letting her run her course instead.
I couldn’t get a decent picture but the trichomes look good.👍 I’ll try harder for the harvest update lol.
I’m satisfied with the amount of fade and I’ll be chopping her down in the coming days.
She’s been on dechlorinated water and flawless finish this week, pH’d.
Hasn’t been given grow in 5 weeks.
Hasn’t been given calmag in 3 weeks.
And no bloom or any other additives/supplements in 7 days.
A big thank you to everyone for the likes and comments 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks again for stopping by! 🍻💥
Have a great week!
Look out for the harvest update coming soon ✌️ 🍪🍦
Top quality genetics!
She grew fast in veg and knocked out some top quality stinky sticky buds.
She also recovered well from heavy defoliation during early flower and didn’t develop any mould/bud rot either.
The good:
She grew fast and recovered quickly from defoliation.
There were no deficiencies or lockout.
The not so great:
I think she was slightly restricted by light N toxicity.
I could have vegged slightly longer and maybe topped or bent branches under the scrog to fill out the canopy more.
I could have used a bigger pot and perhaps not defoliated so heavy or maybe timed it better.
Thoughts:
I’ve loved looking after this plant and I’m happy with the outcome.
With what I’ve learned, the next round can only be better!
I’ll be back with the dry weight update soon ✌️
Have a great week growers ✌️🙌💥🙏🍻
@DrJones,
Yes fabric pot need more water.
But results are better with fabric pot, I see the difference with my 3 mimosa autos, 2 in standard pot, 1 in fabric pot, fabric pot is the biggest plant.
@Ju_Bps, hi, yes I think she’s suffered overwatering symptoms from me watering until runoff every time ever since she was a bean. I forgot she’s not in a fabric pot and roots can’t breathe as easily..
@DrJones,...ah yes Dr..glad to know your on top of it.🏆🏆 Yeh-E-Yeh😅
After transplant she should explode with vertical growth with new root space🤓 yeaa buddy .. It's good to have her grow full in small container before jumping into bigger 1🤔I think🤓.. She's beautiful now . after moving she'll be a champion 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
@JamMAKEcan, ye I’m gonna re pot into a 16L fabric pot once I’ve got a veg tent and another light sorted ASAP. She will have to make do with the limited root space for now. I’m aiming to get her into her own space by end of next week 🤞
