Week 6 Alright...Well, I'm pretty bummed. This being my first photo run, and w/ such great genetics, I knew I was bound to mess it up. The photographed conditions come as no major surprise, given I'm a new grower, but it's still gutting to see your plants struggling so much. **Issues** 1) Symptoms: Leaf discoloration (light green -> yellow in between leaf veins [scattered rust spots on both bottom and top locations]). 2) Diagnosis: Fellow grower's think it's either, A) Lights too intense, B) N excess, or C) PK def. I don't have a clue which one it is, but my senses tell me the lighting was too intense and there's a cal/mag def. Please chime in w/ your thoughts and/or recommended courses of action, if you have any! :) Plan-Ahead: - Lighting: I turned the LEDs down to 55% @ 21". We'll see how they respond. - Top-Soil Amendments: I added 1/2 Cup CoM Plant Food to each pot this week to ensure they're good on food. I recycled my soil this run, so I'm also a little worried I didn't have enough love in the soil to begin w/. - Compost Tea (1 Gal) on 12JUN: 1/8 Tsp humic acid, 1 TBSP molasses, 1/2 Cup earthworm castings, 1/2 Cup CoM lobster compost, and a dab of recharge. 48 hr brew. - Cal-Mag: Increased dosage to 3ml/gal organic cal-mag every watering. Again, I love hearing from other growers, so please send me your thoughts! πŸ™πŸ˜ Lastly, has anyone seen any diaries that catalog a successful sick veg -> healthy flower/harvest recovery? Given the severity of issues currently on-hand, I'm curious to see how sick growth transitions to healthy growth over several weeks. ------------------- Grow Aborted. Couldn't nurse them back to health. Big let-down :-/

Gearing up to use compost teas this pump. What is your "general" rule for teas? How often do you use them? Time based (get ahead of issues and pump them full w/ goodies) or based on an analysis/defs of each plant?

Upcoming compost tea planning (first use of tea methodology): Fish bone meal, angel's touch, lobster compost, molasses, and recharge. Any thoughts on this combination? Also, what do you do w/ the leftover amendments in the bag? Throwing them away seems like a waste, no?

Hey there TCH, i'm circling back because what i do is (if) i have excess feed i collect it along with whatever comes out of the bottom of the pots into trays, and just reuse that on flower and fruit plants in the garden. You top dressing is okay but there's a pretty huge lag from when you've added it until it's rained enough for it to work. Make it so it's available to the plants you're giving it to right? just make more tea to have some left over , if you can. Remember , Tea is not precision science, the more you bubble the better it is until a point. Hope this helps ! πŸš€

Believe this is a cal or mag def. Didn't begin supplementing until last week (2ml organic cal-mag per gal), but they're getting it w/ every watering now. Lightening between veins on higher sites, minor rust spots on lower sites. Think I can ride this out,but wanted to hear others

I would say its more of a PK def since everything I can see your using has a high N with lower PK. worm castings are 2-0-0 ( some brands add P and K ) Stonington Blend Plant Food 5-2-4 Quoddy Blend Lobster Compost 0.6-0.3-0.2 Approx Ratio you want is(N : P : K) Veg = 3 : 2 : 1 Flower = 1 : 2 : 3 Good luck and Happy Growing

Has anyone seen any diaries that catalog a successful sick veg -> healthy flower recovery? I'm curious to see how sick growth transitions to healthy growth over several weeks. Current issue: a) LED intensity, b), N excess, c) PK def, or d) cal/mag def(rust on leaves top and btm)?

it's difficult to say for sure without knowing what has been fed in a higher resolution t han the info growdiaries gives. dose and initial concentration varies, so 2ml per volume doesn't paint full picture. depends on what was in the soil to start too. hopefully, their soil mix is consistent from purchase to purchase so you can gain familiarity - preempt any issue in future with decent predictability. i see potential Mg deficiency. i see what could be a blue tint to leaves which hints at a P deficiency. A toxicity of some sort could cause both. I don't see any spots to indicated a Ca deficiency, but those symptoms show up many weeks after the deficiency is occuring. Some heavy clawing which could be a sign of too much nutes in substrate, unless it was just given tons of water or limited drainage in soil causing droopiness. less than 1/3rd perlite or similar and better to be closer to 50%. almost impossible to cause overwatering droopage with good drainage. do you let it sit in waste water, if so, stop. put it down drain or toss it outside. So any variables.. any specific answer given with oveconfidence is suspect. as far as recovery -- some things heal, some do not. necrotic, rust, and other severe damage will not heal. interveinal chlorosis or paling should reverse. basically, if the plant material in question is dried up or brittle, it ain't healing. It will be healthy before these things are fixed... trending in right way means you got the equilibrium back into a safe zone. healing damage will be a longer term project for the plant, but the tox/def is gone/mitigated for that to start.

@TCH0808, Thank you. I have really enjoyed mainlining. To bend the plant to your will and vision. I will definitely mainline soon again and be more ruthless in my pruning. I feel like I chickened out a bit in the final pruning before flower in this grow so wanna be more Hannibal Lecter next round.

@love_2_grow, Awesome, I'll check it out. I was considering playing around w/ mainlining this grow - the artistic aesthetic is so dang powerful (!!) - but decided I need to focus on establishing a rock-hard bud grow routine first. I'll get there eventually, but will have to enjoy your work until then πŸ˜πŸ‘

Growing some SquareOne and Robinhood seeds myself. My Nana-glue is on Week 6 of veg. planted in recycled super soil. Been a pretty easy stress free grow, once they start really vegging out I would recommend some leaf tucking as LST as this is very minimal stress and highly effective. Best of luck!

@GolfandWeed, Good info. Yea, I had trouble getting some when I looked 6 months ago, but snagged some during their last drop. It looks like there's still availability, so you're probably right and his operations are expanding. Great news :)

@TCH0808, thank you good sir. Lack of SQ1 growers might be due to the fact their beans have been so hard to score. It’s become a little easier as some strains are still available on their shop but a majority of them sell out in less then 2 minutes, especially first time runs. I would expect that to change as SQ1 grows and gets bigger. Dude is currently growing a bunch of strains hoping to get 100,000 beans out of his next harvest. Lots of good stuff coming from Square1 in the future.

@GolfandWeed, Finally, another S1G grower! Strange that GD doesn't have a S1G icon/selectable strains; hard to find other growers. Your plants are looking great -- Beautiful defo and training πŸ‘ Can't wait for flower and seeing how these beauts develop for you! 😁 Also, your Durban Poison and Grape Ape sound and look delicious. Neuralink needs to get their tech in-gear and moving forward, so we can all enjoy each other's harvests πŸ˜‹πŸ™Œ

Hello, i doubt it is a deficiency because you have added some organic amendment and good quality one at that... So i checked prior weeks and i think you have too much light shining on them.... Plant is very bushy without stretch... Not at all and so much so i think you need to higher the lights until leafs have recovered... I am sure she can bounce back but she needs a break frlm leds intense glares! Good luck!

@TCH0808, not really because i already looked through your diary from begin and not saying it is bad a compact plant, just it seems stem not growing much...i think they could make it and be healthy but with added co2 in the air.... also i know this problem because it happens to me, i often underestimate those leds! but i could be wrong πŸ˜…
TCH0808
TCH0808
@Eauderay, Oh, and my plants have been "stretching", as in aggressively creating more nodes, but I've been meticulous about LST and ensuring a flat canopy. Not sure if that changes your calculus at all...

Looks like an issue with the micros to me, potentially over watered too but it could just be when you took the picture. Do you pH your water? A lot of nutrient issues are really a pH imbalance in the root zone, not necessarily that the nutrients aren’t present.
