Today is day one. Seedlings are in Fox farm Ocean Forest soil. Very first grow. Feeding fox farm big bloom nutrients at 25% strength. At day 7, plant 2 seems to be growing well. It is working on its first set of leaves. Not sure if it is a little behind or not. Plant 1 is mott growing very well. Both are in the same dirt, and getting same nutrients.

The start of week 2! Plant 2 is looking healthy. Not much growth over the past day. Plant one is slowly catching up. Starting to introduce CalMag. I'm using distilled water. The city water here is terrible for plants. I lowered the light from 6" to 4.5". With the lighting being CFL T5HO I am hoping the plants with get a little more intensity. Plant 2 is starting on its 3 node. The plant is staying short. Not much vertical growth. If I get close to it, it has a really nice smell. Plant 1 is catching up. On day 12, I think I have plant one too much water this morning. Her leaves are drooping a little. Today is day 13. Plant one is catching up quickly. Not sure what is going on with plant 2. Any advise?

Made it to week three! Plant two became root bound and slightly under watered. I think that set me back a couple days. She was moved to a one gallon phat sack. She looks much better now. I'm surprised at how short they are. Both are working on their third node. Both were topped after third node. Day 21. Plants really haven't grown much since they were topped 4 days ago. Leaves on plant 1 have some yellowing, not sure why. I've been feeding them distilled water ph'd to 6.5. Any idea what's going on?

Looking at plant 2 on day 18, it appears the leaves are starting to stand up, pray, sticking up, etc. What could be causing this? I'm using T5HO lights. Total of 210 watts. Is she getting too much light?

Hi there ! It could be the heat ! But it could be also the signs that she need water , as plants are "praying" to limit "sweating" ! Hope it will help you 😁👍

We made it to week 4! Everything is looking well. The girls seem like they are starting to recover from being topped. I'm trying two different training techniques on them. Let's see how it goes! I took some advise and gave her the recommended feeding from fox farm at 25% strength and they loved it! Update day 26: plants showed slight nute burn. Watered today with straight water ph'd to 6.5. Last feeding was a little much. Didn't hurt them much but did show some signs of slight nute burn. I was hoping that they would be larger than they are by now. But it looks like it might be a long veg...

I decided to make this grow a micro grow. With the scale I have available and the light used I feel that it is going to stretch up quite a bit. I gave her a little clean up pruning and flipped the lights to the bloom lights. Set her to 12/12. Wish me luck! Day 33, plant plants are looking amazing. Plant 2 is stretching like crazy. I have the raise the light an inch every other day. Hopefully it doesn't keep it up. The nodes are like 3 inches apart! Plant one is staying nice and bushy. She looks amazing. For some reason the very top of the main branches is getting some yellowing. Looking at pictures of first flower it appears to be normal. Any advise? Day 35, today is the last day of the first week of flower. Still no preflowers yet. But I think I had a decent light leak where I had to run the cords out. Got that taped up nicely so hopefully no more leaks. Any advise?

We made it to week 2 of flower. I forgot to water yesterday, they were a little droopy this morning. Still no pre flower. Hopefully soon! I'll update as needed. Day 37, plant 2 has pre flowers at the top but none on plant 1 yet. Day 39, I gave the plants sledgehammer to rinse out some build up. Plants were showing signs of nutrient burn. I just got a new kit so come Sunday these girls will be going under hps for the rest of flower. Still no signs of any buds anywhere. Day 40, still no bud sites anywhere. Plant one finally has preflowers. I think starting next week I'll move it into the hps tent.

This has definitely been a learning experience. I've been feeding way too much nitrogen, way too small of a pot, temps too high. But I learned. Here we are on the next week. Hopefully they both start to fill up a little. Looks like they are. Cheers!

Hi @GrowFanatic! Well, since you used a product to get rid of salts/nutrients/chemicals, your plant is trying to find energy elsewhere, so basically it's eating the few nutrients left in the leaves. That's a normal thing, leaves are supposed to fade when harvest is coming / when the flush has started. This phenomenon is called "senescence" and is part of the pre-harvest process. No worries, this reaction is completely normal. However, I think you still have a few weeks to go through before harvest, so I'd recommend to give them at least 2-3 last meals, before flushing for 7-14 days depending on the trichome's evolution. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

We made it another. Wow did I screw up last week! But we made it thru that and we are still going! The girls are still showing a little sign of nute deficiency but much better than where we were. Not sure how much longer is left on these two. I'm assuming a couple weeks. I think after this week I will go to water only.

@GrowFanatic, I've never really dealt with this myself in any of my grows so far. But I did a little research and it sounds like it could be Nitrogen Toxicity. Check out the following link: https://www.growweedeasy.com/nitrogen-toxicity-cannabis Sounds like you should start backing down on your Nitrogen heavy nutrients from what I read. I hope that helps you out.

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, thank you for all of your help. It's great to see a very well known breeder who also helps people with their grows. Well definitely be buying more of your genetics. They definitely look very sativa. The trichome production on the shorter of the two is unreal. They look like diamonds. And what a smell! I can't quite put my finger on the smell, like piney but berry. Very unique.
Humboldt_Seed_Organisation
Humboldt_Seed_Organisationcommented6 years ago
@GrowFanatic, one tip my dad taught me many year's ago was that instructions and more specific doses for feed need to be altered for each strain. Some plants are heavy feeding and will take a lot of feed pushing the e.c upto 2.0-2.4 which is very high. If you do this with other strains it will not end well. I like to go in at half the recommended dose and raise as needed. The plant will let you know what she need my friend 👊 Your plants are definitely showing their sativa side. Big long branches with that typical sativa look 👍 Going off the pictures I would say another 10-14 day's will see this grow completed 👊 I would do 1 more feed then swap to just water for the final 7-10 day's 👍 Not long now my friend. Then you can get the scissors out and your fingers sticky 😎 With love from Humboldt County ✌️ Kind regards Team-HSO..

@ChefDan420, they are long and fluffy, but I'm almost certain that it is because of me. Pots are way too small and I was feeding nutrients at half strength every other watering and haven't really gotten a good flush. So today I gave them a really good flush and going to cut back to 1/2 strength every 3 or 4 watering.

dont worry too much about the brown pistils, when its just a few it could be from accidentally touching them a little rough or a leaf rubbing against them or even high airflow. It definitely looks like your buds are still elongating so the swell should be coming soon. 👌

Hey there Fanatic everything looks good and healthy. Did you start counting as flower from the flip to 12/12 or when pistils developed? I think you may not be as far into the flower as you think.... they look to be around 2-3 weeks into flower IMHO Good luck
