Germination
The tap roots were almost too long by the time they'd spent 24 hours in water and 24 hours in a wet paper towel. One of the Apple Cups broke ground in maybe 6 hours. I'll likely just go 18 hours in the towel next time, but hopefully that's a sign of good genetics. This is THE run, the THIRD photo run (that I've had success with) and I'm mostly dialed in with my grow so I'm finally confident enough to germ the good (pricey) beans this time. I may ship one Apple Cup off to a friend, and the 3rd Apple Cup is looking funky (but healthy) so we shall see. I'm already regretting not running at least one Mamiko Chem Cookies because it's the only really great smoke I've had success growing (twice) while other strains haven't impressed. But I always wanted to grow a good Gary Payton cross, a good Apple Fritter cross and anything InHouse just to see for myself. So far so good! They look happy and I'm extremely happy that I'm starting them in a closet inside (94 degrees this weekend, and even with AC, the closet grow temps are hitting mid-80's). I won't have to worry about the big tent (in the shed out back) and running that window AC for two whole months, up until about the end of veg, near the end of Aug-first-of-September (here in Va we get nearly perfect growing weather in Sept and Oct if you've got a good dehumidifier). Thanks for visiting and good luck out there! ✋😤

Nothing but misting for another week or so. I'll transplant around Day 16-20 into 1g. I start in Solos that are 1/2 Coco Loco (bottom) and 1/2 Biobizz Lite (top). They love it, and my germ rate is nearly 100%. In fact, I always get nervous but the magic happens the same every time. A couple of helmet-heads needed help but they popped off easily, and all 6 are strong, healthy, the same height and color. 50% with the veg light about 30 inches away.

Still just misting 2x a day with tap water, according to: when 1/2 of the girls look like they're drying out on the surface (it's probably close enough but I then wait 4-6 hours and mist). One of the Apple Cups was always funky so today I told her "This is SPARTA!" The rest are nearly-perfect. The remaining 2 AC and 2 GP got top-dressed with a little more Biobizz Lite but just for stem-support not feeding. One AC needed an actual crutch (just a little twisty wire zip-tie) but more likely because they're all top-heavy monsters on day 11 and the stems need a few days to catch up! Hopefully a good sign, but I might give them a little (very little) CalMag and Armor Si before transplanting them next week. I gotta say- work and family stress has been a killer this year, but I'm getting a break at home for a few weeks, and I've been able to just live and grow without rushing- it's probably helped more than therapy (if I ever did therapy lol). Whoever is visiting out there, I appreciate the comments and likes and take care of yourselves! 👊😤

Just used Great White when transplanting into 1g pots on day 15. 2 girls looked hungry and after 24 hours none of them look hungry. I won't feed for about 3 weeks but I'll start with Fish Shit and Recharge next water (alternating both). I'll give them another 2 days and then start thinking about topping. The Gary Poppins are close to ready now, Apple Cups are the slowest growing in Veg but they all handled the transplant well enough. *Watered 3 days after Transplanting into 1g AND lifted the light 6-10" and dropped the intensity to 40% - NOW they're happy as hell. Until I made those changes they were canoe-ing and the light's a little more intense over the AC's so it makes sense they were also drooping first. SOOO happy now by comparison and I raised it 2-3 more inches when I saw the response. From now on, with this 200w light I'll run the light at the top of the tent, start at 30% for Wk 1 then go to 40% for the rest of Veg (and just let them grow up into the light). If I change that plan, I'll revise this comment. I mist twice a day for the first 2 weeks, so thankfully that nightmare is over (they're SO happy every time with that watering sched) and now I'll be watering every 3rd or 4th day (I'll figure it out by picking them up every day but 1g's of Coco Loco dry out faster, eventually I'll be in 3g of Coco Loco which go 5 days before I water again until late in flower) and I'll be feeding every third watering regardless so WxxxxWxxxxFxxxxxW in 1g's but I'll do the same when I transplant into 3g and flip to flower. I want to wait a couple-3 more days, until I see more activity/growth before I FIM them. Thanks for visiting, be safe out there and good luck with your grow!

2nd-guessed the light intensity for a couple days, then settled back to 50% dimmer raised up as high as the light can go. Thought I knew well-enough to make an adjustment but instead I flooded them with light for a couple hours for no reason. Lesson learned. Nothing but Fish Shit so far this week, but I'll water once more with Recharge and CalMag (I should've watered with CalMag in Week3-4, b/c I'm seeing some purple stems already). These are big girls for their age. I topped them or they might be 3 ft tall already. The Jelly Breath up front is giving me bad signs. It wants to be a stick. She's growing but not bushing so we'll see now that she's topped. Everything else is looking crazy, busy, tall and bushy. Nothing but healthy green leaves everywhere. Just concerned how much space I have, because the plan was to move them out to the shed in late August.

Alternating Recharge and Fishshit every water but I just fed for the first time this grow. I'll water two more times (3 days in between) before I feed again, which will probably be right before transplanting and flipping into flower. They're super happy but end of Wk4 I was aggressive with FiM'ing and more specifically with snipping off sucker leaves/defoliating the bottom 1/3 of each (more than I'm used to doing at this point). In the future, I want to top/fim a week sooner, wait 10-12 days for them to recover (instead of 6-7) then top/fim again, and let them recover again for 10-12 days. Growth was slowed a little by the aggressive pruning, but they were going bonkers so the GP are already shooting up, and the AC are bushing and thriving. Ok so now that I've typed all that, clearly only the JB struggled with the pruning, and I only pruned 1! /shrug Good luck out there. They're super happy and healthy and if I could I would flip at the end of week 6, but I'm on a schedule and the big tent is in a (way too hot right now) shed. Stay cool out there and happy harvesting homies!

I topped 1 GP one more time (3x total) everything else in the tent was topped twice and recovered really well, and there's the 1 JB I only topped once but is branching well and looks good. I'm learning that 6 is just too many in a 2x4- you can do it, and I feel like I'm accidentally doing a SoG but reaching to do everything including watering, and shaping/training is way tougher by this point of veg. If the shed wasn't still too hot, I might put the AC out there now, but they could all use an extra week (esp that topped GP) and right now I want to transplant and flip them in 2 wks, then move them out into the shed (big tent, big light). I don't mind using the ac out there (window unit) some, but right now it wouldn't stop running. Here in Va the weather should break around the 16. That's my move and flip target date right now. Still WxxxWxxxFxxxW and alternating Recharge and Fish shit with every water, always adding CalMag with every water. Fed on the last day of Week 6. I'll transplant 1 and send it off to a friend, then wait another week before transplanting the rest. Good luck out there and thanks for checking out the grow!

No nutes this week, just a watering before I transplant and flip. I'll keep them inside for a day or two, then move them out to the big tent in the shed. I'll need a window ac unit for a couple of weeks but the hot weather is already easing here in Va and by mid-Sept I probably won't need too much extra help cooling. Change of plans- I'm gifting a Jelly Breath to a friend and putting the rest (all 5) in the 3x4 so I don't have to cool a 2nd tent in the shed. I can also start up a 2 plant grow inside (probably Chem Cookies) as soon as I have room in the 2x3 and that will help me stagger my harvests. The GP are the biggest plants I've seen at this stage of veg, but cramping is keeping them from bushing so I need to do some training before I flip and scrog. They're drinking 1 and 1/2 gallons every 3 days WxxxWxxxF at this point. Happy healthy and temps and rh have been steady around 76-80F and 45-60%. Keeping it simple, as always but really looking forward to flower. These girls are going to be massive, but I'll never do 6 in a 2x3 again. Good luck out there! Thanks for visiting! 👊😤

I let them veg too long, but the weather is just about perfect now for the grow shed. I keep the lights on and the ac off at night and I do the opposite during the day. I'll flip in the next 24-48 hours, I might train them a little to bush them out, but I'm hoping a scrog will do that for me and they already look happier. It looked like a Pringles-can grow challenge by the end of veg so I'll probably run fewer plants at a time and try to stagger my grows more in the future. No plans to feed until week 3 of flower. I used about .5 of a tsp of Great White in each 3g pot when transplanting and watered but not a lot b/c I just watered yesterday. I couldn't avoid it b/c the girls were really thirsty and it really only helped the process not be a huge mess. I won't water again until I'm sure they're light and need it- then I expect to go with a normal WxxxxxWxxxxxF schedule until maybe Week 5-6 when I'll water more often by a day or two until the end of flower. These plants are absolute monsters so my job is to bush them out, control the canopy in stretch and probably feed and water more than usual. Thanks for visiting. I'll edit this when I flip to flower in a couple of days. Good luck out there! 👊😤

Stripped out some sucker leaves but other than that I didn't do much at all this week, esp compared to transplant week last week. I don't think I'll mess with them anymore. I've got 5 in a 3x4 so I'm not even bothered that the JB only has 4-5 viable stalks. Still - they're 4-5 happy busy bushy stalks but I need the space anyway. The biggest girls in veg (the 2 GP): 1 has the most tops by a lot but neither is the most active at this minute. Next week should be fun to watch. Instead of training them more I want to add a 2nd trellis for support in a couple weeks. Still not feeding, but these girls are so tall I might start feeding sooner and watering more frequently. Thanks for stopping by! And hey- thanks also for all the likes and support. Genuinely!

They're happy so I'm just trying to stay out of the way. I won't feed until next week (wk 3 of flower). Still alternating Fish Sh!t and Recharge with every water. No change in lights, well I actually lifted them 2 inches to be honest, just because I have the head room with the inline fan outside the tent. The weather has been humid but temps are dropping at the right time (as I crank up the lights next week). My window ac is cutting on about 4 times an hour, still so I can't wait for cooler weather. Because I'm in a shed, as I learned last year, Sept to Dec the conditions are nearly perfect in Va. I can open a door, turn on a fan, turn off the ac (until next August) and really coast. Rh is near-perfect but you do need a kickass dehumidifier for those humid mornings, and rainy cold days. Obviously very excited to enter the stretch here and really see what these girls can do. So far I'm pretty dialed in and this run I'm a lot less stressed about filling every single square in the Scrog or training hard for max yield. It's all about quality- thanks for stopping in! (they grew 3 inches in 4-5 days after posting this. Lifted the lights again but I'm out of room. Good luck with whatever you're growing! 👊😤

My magic beanstalks won't stop stretching. But they better. At 40" I'm running out of room. Hopefully they stopped stretching today/yesterday (mid-week 3). Fed for the first time in flower and you're seeing the results 12-13 hours later. Fluffy pom poms everywhere. The light's still at 60% but I'm waiting out the heat wave before I crank it up to 75 (here in Va it's been 99 just day after day). No issues- just the heat and the height have me concerned. Fall is coming! Makes Shed Life a lot easier! Good luck out there growing whatever you grow! 👊😤

So I might defol a little next week to let the sunshine in, after I lollipopped them today. They're all happy as hell after a first feeding (end of wk 3), after they stopped stretching in the middle of wk3. I raised the light 2" so they're 12" away and pretty happy about it. Despite the height difference all 5 are busy bulking up about the same, nodes are connecting (even on the the 41" JB) and it's looking like a Nov 1 harvest, if not a little sooner. Upped the watering frequency this week (I think, unless I under-watered the time before, which is possible with 5 flowering and 6 veg'ing). I'll know more at the end of the week, but they're so huge and they're so busy it's about time to water more often, and more each time. They'll get WxxxxWxxxxF this week but it might be WxxxWxxxF by next week. tbd At this size, with the AC's asking for a little more food, even tho they're smaller plants, I will probably add a bloom booster next water. I'll edit this if I do. The genetics are clearly working here, but having zero setbacks, zero issues with heat or rh (even tho rh has been high this week), zero issues under or overwatering, it's my healthiest garden ever. The JB is already giving off baseball bat-vibes, with nodes stretching 2 full feet. But the GP and AC are just as busy and bushy. I upped the light to 60% mid-week 3, then 75% at the start of Week 4. Good luck out there people! No Mids!! ✊

I alternate Recharge and Fish Shit every water. They're bulking well and the AC are hungry but not enough to feed more than planned, and they may be ready earlier than the rest of the tent. The frost is just nuts on the GP and the AC but less so on the JB but it's still early. Mild defol once this week just to uncover some tops. GP #2 was topped the right way (back right) so she's turning out the most tops and isn't 10ft tall like the topped-once JB and topped-twice GP#1. Weather is near perfect for the kind of shed growing I do here in Va right now so I'm just feeding once this week and 1-2 more times total at the most, and trying to stay out of the way. Thanks for visiting and good luck out there! 😤🙏

No food this week, just Fish Shit and Sweet this week. Pics are from Day 39 and 4 out of 5 look like they're on the same schedule- they'll need 3-4 wks. But the GP up front is just gorgeous, bulging, bright green and maybe a week or more ahead- she is easily the frostiest mofo I've ever grown. Really enjoying the last few weeks of flower. Here in Va my big ass dehumidifier is pulling about 4 gallons of water out of the air every 18 hrs, but it's a small price to pay for what I'm seeing. Did a little defol, stripped out some wimpy shoots and dead leaves but again- not a lot. I'll feed maybe 1 more time, twice max. Thanks for visiting! My inlaws are in trim-jail as we speak so good luck all you outdoor-growers! If only you had a mind-altering substance that would cheer you up, reduce inflammation and help you sleep better! 👊😉

Flopping and fading like crazy this week, mid-week 7 of flower, although some of that fading is the light at 100% I'm pretty sure. Almost everything purples (ok half of everything) in this tent and I'm starting to think dialing it up to 100% is the reason. The buds themselves, esp the GP and AC look super bright lime green, and everything in the tent is just blowing up. The smell is heavy, gassy, skunk-ass. The GP could honestly be only a week away but it's only day 45. Just the amount of frost, and the bulging bud structure are screaming "SMOKE ME!" but I will resist. I'm not even getting out the microscope until Week 8. The last feed today. I debated but I don't want yellow flowers to fool me. One more feeding and only 2 weeks to go for the GP and the AC. The AC look nearly as amazing, but I don't do this to take pretty pictures. Really excited to smoke these better genetics and get samples over to a local shop that charges 45 bucks a pop for lab results (a pop=1g). Happy harvesting homies! (it's late so I'll plug the nutes in tomorrow but: Micro, Bloom, LKB, Sweet, and FishShit) 👊

One more week for AC1 and GP1. Def the frostiest plants I've ever grown. On day 53 they look like day 60 so realistically I'm thinking day 63, unless the microscope tells me to wait longer (but I doubt it). GP2 is yellowing fast, and the AC2 is about done really so, yeah probably 63. The JB may need a few more days but we'll see. It's been a really smooth run, esp this week with the temps and rh dropping into a sweet spot. No more food, just SWEET a last time this week.

Just the biggest prettiest strain I've grown- frosty from about Week 3 of flower, and tried to convince me to chop her down every week since. GORGEOUS so I'll come back and share a smoke review. Def taking this one in for a lab test!

Am I crazy to expect any potency when growing from seeds? Last run looked perfect for the 61 days in flower but now = weak af after spending $$ on genetics. This after 3-4 runs of perfect looking weak-ass weed. I'm about to sell my lights out of frustration. Flower longer? Help?

Interesting.. definitely would experiment with trich maturation if you haven’t already. Bud looks done to me tho. You got 3 different breeders here, so should have something decent from them. All 3 were bunk? I mean like can you quantify it? Like just not quite hitting that spot but still getting you high - or just not getting you high unless you sit and smoke an ounce? I recently sprung for breeder clones that have been a nice significant step up from growing from seed. Maybe check into that? I dunno man I feel for ya tho if you don’t seem to be getting decent smoke from a great looking grow like that.
the end.
