Looking forward to this one. One of many strains and diaries I'm running. Hope to do a little something different on each. All in the name of science of course
Start of new week. Looking ok I suppose. I like the name of this one. The photos I've seen look really impressive too. I hope I can do it justice.
I have topped her. She was pushing out her 6 node so I topped down to node 4. Left rest on. Trying to do a bit of something different. I have bent her over for a bit of lst. .
I have started lst after being topped a couple of days ago. She doesn't seem troubled.
She will be going into a bigger pot soon but no rush. I'm planning on a long veg time.
Not for size per se ,more for shaping and experiments and general messing around in the name of science and education
A new week and she is doing ok. I would be happier with a bit more vigor but it's a learning curve with light intensity and feeding right now. She may even be showing signs of over watering but I am in Coco and not watering very much!
I dimmed the light down a bit and I'm not gonna give calmag for a few days.
I am trying to be minimalistic with the feed now. I was buying and using many bottles, sometimes in excess of 10. I am now trying just the fundamentals, silica, base and a root stimulator.
She will want up potting soon but there is no rush. She is planned to go to flower in 6 weeks so I have plenty of time to train her
She is coming on quite well apart from a possible deficiency. She has been a little droopy with purple streaking up the main stem. Will have to monitor. I suspect magnesium or sulfur so may give a dose of sweet grape.
Update on deficiency.
After a change of base nutes to advanced nutrients sensi Coco grow and a dose of calmag she looks a lot better.
She's looking good now. I have uppotted her to a 7 gal fabric pot with 70/30 Coco/perlite. I am using canna and Plagron Coco/perlite.
Nutes moving forward will be advanced nutrients sensi Coco grow a&b with Shogun calmag, botanicare silica blast and house and garden roots excellurator. These are the veg nutes recipe and I've still to decide on the bloom nutes. It will be advanced nutrients sensi Coco bloom for base but not sure on the pk. May go a 14-15 for a week only about week 5 or a 0-4-4 like big bud Coco weeks 3,4+5 followed by overdrive weeks 6,7+8.
Looking good and healthy.
I'm really unsure what to do with her. I have two options, please let me know your thoughts.
1, I flower her this weekend and flower another plant in two weeks to keep in with my perpetual grow or do I
2, wait for 2-3 weeks and flower this plant and the other together.
I feel waiting (2) is better as both will be of a good size but also could be too big. It's a nice problem
Well I've put her to flower.
I have used all my sensi Coco bloom and ordered TA novamax bloom and final part and intend to use these. I may add big bud before I use the final part. I'm unsure on the pk option. I do have a few:
H&G top booster and Shooter
Green planet bud booster
Big bud and overdrive
Final part.
Plagron green sensation, sugar royale and powerbuds
Decisions decisions.....
Today marks the end of week one.
She is very healthy with absolutely massive leaves.
I'm looking forward to what's in store.
I'm expecting a very heavily Indica dominant going on the size and shape of the leaves.
In week two I think I will start power buds
Start of week two flower and she looks very healthy and although I didn't mainline her , she has turned out similar.
She has really large leaves. In fact I removed the biggest and they were bigger than my hand and individual fingers were in excess of 8" long.
End of week 2
She doesn't look as far into flower as she should so for now im continuing a half/half base of veg and bloom nutes. Big bud normally is administered from week 2 but I'm refraining. There has been very little stretch so far
She's healthy enough but to say she is coming on 4 weeks since I flipped the light she isn't as far on. It's the first time growing this strain so not sure on her flower time. The breeders , ripper seeds stated 9-10 weeks.
Everything going ok.
The frost and stickyness is insane.
It looks like she will go nearer 10week.
I plan to use overdrive in week 8 and final part in week 9. Flush week 10
This is now week 8 and I have stopped all nutrients apart from the power buds and commenced the TA Final Part. Yesterday was 700ppm today 600. I plan working down to just water for her 9th week.
Her run off was very high today (Day 52) so I gave her12-15l of flush/feed.
I have to say this is by far the frostiest for me so far and I feel I have said that the last few plants. I suspect this is due to me increasing the plant to lamp distance and decreased the strength of feed. I've even started cutting out a lot of components. Things like zyme, silica, carbs and humic/fulvic. I'm not saying they don't help I'm just finding they aren't as necessary as I first thought. They were getting expensive.
To me growing in Coco I feel the only ones really needed are a good quality base, calmag on hand, root stim and PK booster on occasion and a bio stim/boost.
My light is at 24". It was at 16" and I've kept increasing with increasingly better results .
Trichomes on day 52 are observed as follows:
20% clear
10% amber +
70% cloudy.
The plan is to chop her on day 63 now after a seven day flush
Day 54.
The trichomes are maybe now
10% amber
75% cloudy
15% clear.
I have started the flush today as my run off was way up. 500 in 3000 out so I will flush longer.
She is showing some purple but I am going to wait for a bit more swell, more purple, some fade hopefully and the trichomes at
0% clear
50-70% cloudy
30-50% amber.
I'm not in any need for this I have a good amount curing of a different strain.
Her smell now is definitely different to what I'm used to. It's normally a citrus smell I've found yet this has a touch of lemon but something of a sweetness. It is familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Familiar not from any previous strain but some smell at the back of my memory.
I am going to try turn my central heating off on a night to try induce more colours
Lovely grow, colours, taste and the frostiest buds I've grown.
Not sure what to attribute it to but each plant has got progressively butter and frostiest. Notable changes have been a gradual increase in distance to the light and a reduction in nutrient EC.
