These girls are really exploding with growth and everyone is looking healthy! Sticking with the watering schedule. Alternating plain water and Therm X70, Aloe, Rootwise Mycrobe Complete in water every watering. Once a week adding the Big 6 Micros + Humic Acid, and Dry Aminos to the water.
A few days after feeding, mixed up a few gallons with some EM5 in order to try and get some of these fungus gnats. They aren't a major problem right now but definitely would like to cut them back if not eliminate them. Thankfully they really pose no harm to the plant and are just more of a nuisance. Plan on getting some Neem oil and possibly some Dr. Bronner's Castile soap to really attack them before flower.
Originally wanted to veg for only 1 month but now that the Big Body Gelati from Covert is underway, gonna wait until those are sexed and flip everything to flower at once so the White Widow and the Bubba Kush will have been vegging for a couple weeks longer than the Big Body Gelati. Have been keeping a journal and taking photos of the BBG but waiting to sex them to start the diary in case they are male. Only popped 2 seeds of the BBG to stay under plant limits otherwise would have popped more and had better chances. If any are male, gonna move them to another room in a separate tent and attempt to collect pollen.
The Bubba Kush in the 30 gallon is continuing to be the most impressive. The most vigorous grower of the bunch and seems to have new leaves and a new node every day or two. Very large, fat fan leaves, some of the largest I have ever seen. Even though its still in veg, this one reeks already! Definitely has a bubba, fruity smell to it which is very pleasant. Super cropped the tallest node on this one versus topping like I normally do. Haven't supercropped before so giving it a shot on this girl. One leaf had a couple spots on it but that was the side that was getting hit with the most direct wind from the fan. The fan is oscillating but this side of the plant was getting constantly hit so it seems the spots are from stress and not deficiency related. Turned that fan off for a few days which is fine as its still getting more indirect wind from the other mounted fan. Going to turn the first fan back on but change the angle of it to hopefully avoid this again. Need to get another mounted fan for the wall, these are definitely superior and save space.
The White Widows are also looking great in the 30 gallon. Have 2 plants in there so need to manage/train them a little better to manage space as best as possible. The larger White Widow #1 that had the odd looking first set of leaves (can look back a few weeks and see) kind of naturally was topped as this first node was just a leaf and not a typical node that produces 2 sets of leaves if that makes sense. So it kind of naturally had 2 areas that are now growing similar to if it was topped. Proceeded to then actually top both of these areas at the top node of each. Trying to bush it out more and it also almost knocked it down to the same height as #3 which is in the same container right next to it but was planted a little later so it wasn't as big. Gonna top the other one in the next few days.
Hopefully can sex the BBG in the next 2 weeks as they will be around 1 month old by then. At that point we will prep for flower and flip everything over a week later. Cant wait!
Thanks again for following along!!
@BudBoutique, Same! Wasn't able to train them as much as I'd like due to being unexpectedly out of town quite a bit during this run so curious how theyll turn out as they are almost too tall at this point lol.
You clearly know what you're doing, but I've never seen black or grey mycelium. You sure that mass of "good mycelium" isn't dead, a fruiting body, or a mold? Myc doesn't really lift above the substrate until its trying to fruit, and we wouldn't call the fruiting body myc.
Any chance at ID?
Also, damn, we really are in sync. I grew NLA last, WW now. Happily Minnesota organic grow!
@JazzBerries, I haven't seen it like that either and it didn't even occur that it could have been something besides mycelium and possibly be a mold but you could be right. I was out of town for a week right after this last update and that little ball in the photo has disappeared and there is no sign of it anymore. Plants are thriving still and no signs of mold or anything bad spreading so that is relieving. It definitely was more in the mulch layer versus being in the soil when it was visible though. Going to keep monitoring but it has disappeared at least for now. If it returns or I start seeing the plant getting "sick" I will update more.
Wow that is quite the coincidence lol! Thanks for the comment, and pointing out the mycelium/mold in the photo. Also happy growing to you as well! Will definitely follow along and wish you nothing but positive results to a fellow MN grower!
@Herbie101, Thanks man!! I really enjoy the cover crop too. Not only does it provide a nice visual aesthetic, it helps out in a number of other areas as well. Thanks again for following along!
@CannabisFarmerGuyDude, I love the idea and philosophy begind the living soil thing! I just need to learn my basics first, but its perfect to follow people along who work with it to learn. π I hope all will go well! Best of luck buddy!π±π
@Herbie101, Thanks man!! Appreciate the love and you following along! First time going full "Living Soil" and using Build A Soil products so really excited to see how things turn out and share with you all.
