Testing different strategies with the SSH. And it's been a mess. Now I'll be lucky if I get anywhere with the two clones. The grow journal is going to mostly follow the mystery seeds and tangie. Any help is DEFINITLY appreciated!

Hello ! You have serval nutrients deficiencies on your plants ,Potassium (K) def & Magnesium (Mg) def but I think that what you need is nutrients and bigger pots. I also think that you under watering your plants , your soil looks dry. 👍

So the Tangie is toast. I have the roots there still but it got sprayed with solution and dried out and killed the leaves. Out of the 4 unknown seeds 3 have survived and are about to enter week 3, have just started some nutes. Honestly, not too concerned with these plants since the bud I got them from was horrible, I just want to test some methods before ruining any more good seeds from the strain banks I've ordered from. The Super Silver Haze has continued to befuddle me, I have flushed it, pH'ed the water, given it the correct amount of nutes. I mean I'm truly at a loss. The humidity and temperature are both fine. So whats's the deal? I also have a concurrent grow diary going consisting of GG#4 and Black Sugar, check it out! Happy Growing!

Ok, as i enter week 4 I'm a little nervous about the growth of these unknown strains. I'm a day away from week 4, one of the plants is very stunted, looks like its having an issue with a nitrogen deficiency? Otherwise I've topped the other two which seem to be doing moderately better, but one of them looks like its about to follow suit of the other plant. UPDATE; I have replaced the previous pictures posted of the plants with these. As you can tell I have varying deficiency peaking through, especially #2 my wife's plant, if anyone can shed some light, please do so as it is progressing quickly. Right now they're just drinking ph'd water and that is all.

ok, i would hope that after this week someone can shed some more light on the issues at hand here.. I flushed everyone- clean slate, because it got to a point here that i didnt know what was happening but i was losing all the plants. I would really like my first grow to finish with a semi productive harvest. all the plants have had water only all week until finally last night a few plants got a feeding with half strength nutes, which i switched to using advanced nutrients. im not sure whats gunna happen here but i hope it works out! if anyone has any suggestions feel free!!👌

well, I cant belive it, but the dying Super Silver Haze clone lived man! despite all the issues weve had along the way, she seems to have made a pretty decent turn around. I hope this is the start of a successful first harvest. There are still many things that could happen here, and the damage done to the plant is still noticeable, so any suggestions as always are welcome!

So this clone has really been through the ringer. I am surprised that its making such a good turn around but as you can see im still experiencing some deficiencies somewhere. The plant has been super cropped accidently but its worked in its favor, the knuckles on that thing are pretty tight.

this plant has really been through the ringer. i am ready to start flowering it. this week i started inducing a 12/12 light schedule, the plant has had many techniques at this point, ive now lollipop-ed it, defoliated the inner growth and deficiency ridden leaves, the branches themselves were super cropped and mainlined and im hoping to see some really great progress with it. so far no signs that the 12/12 has started blooming the plant, but im checking daily. suggestions always welcome please! happy new year folks!

switched the plant to 12/12 so far really not much difference other then a few inches of height. i do have some questions with leaves if anyone can take a look. for pretty much throughout this plants life as a clone ive had issues as it was my first photo and first plant in general. now after many recoveries the plant consistently having a decent amount of leaves look a little either burnt or deficiency stricken. now on another forum i was told nute burn. but im not really doing strong nutes, even after just water its still exhibiting this issue. the ph has been consistently alright. i just dont see what im doing wrong and a little nervous for flowering whats to happen.

alright this week and last were basically the same results, im minimizing posting unless there is noticeable growth or issues. this week its both. Ive noticed that finally since transitioning the plant its starting to focus on bud production, however, im really nervous about the cupping leaves surrounding those bud sites. not far enough along i thought to do that with flowering, i could be totally wrong. this is my first run growing, with this specifically being my very first initial plant. id really like to see all this process go to something amazing, quite nervous to muck it up. suggestions please my sensi!!

what originally happened was a nitrogen def, i had read from a few sites. I have several nutrients from FF trio to some botanicare liquid karma, ph down, dolomite lime for a buffer if i need to raise it. i have epsom salts for magnesium and to lower my ph ever so slightly (that was before the ph down) my tap has a filter on it coming in at a ph of 6.7. I got the Super silver haze as clones and they clearly did not know the correct age. Thinking it was further along then it was I defoliated, tried FIMing, no luck-made it worse. The plants were over watered and originally in bad soil, i replanted to the 3 gallon buckets they are in now, but ive slowly lost ones growth while the other grew just very very slowly. i got on a better watering regimen because i was watering way too much, daily. I just flushed them, because of the nute burn. I don't think I flushed it enough, but I was waiting for it to dry out to see if it got any better. Before they started getting brown and dying they were def burnt.

Hi after looking at all your pic's I noticed you are using fert from a few different companies. I use nothing but advanced nutrients and I know they have to be mixed as per directions take for example their Ph Perfect Grow, Micro & Bloom. These have to be mixed Micro first stir solution the Grow again stir solution and then finally Bloom and another stir. If you mix them without following there directions you will get nutrient lock out. So this could be from some of the nutes working against the others causing the yellowing. Hope this helps. @FoxyLoxy,Hi On this grow it was supposed to be 2 white widow in DWC buckets I germinated 3 seeds 2 spouted right away I thought the 3rd was a dud but it popped in just over a week that's why I have one in soil. My next grow will be Blue Cookies Feminized this will be pure coco coir with this I will be using Advanced Nutrients SENSI COCO GROW PH PERFECT PART A&B then SENSI COCO BLOOM PH PERFECT PART A&B AND ALSO BIG BUD COCO. Advanced Nutrients also has the online feeding schedule and as long as you follow the directions on the bottles to mix. I do not grow in soil at all because there are so many issues, soil attracts bugs, mold and other nasty things. The ph perfect line is as it says I have never had my ph out. If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask I am always glad to help another grower.

Ok - everything on the stat sheet looks good so I’m not sure what’s going on here - except maybe one thing- are you watering each plant a full litre every day? Or is the full litre for all 3? Just curious and think it could be over watering. good luck with em🤞😎

TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@FoxyLoxy, hmm the new photos are helpful. If I had to guess I’d say you’ve either got a nitro deficiency or potentially toxicity from lockout?? The brown spotting also smacks of a ph issue but you said you rectified that. Have you tried a full flush, like a real heavy flush on these yet? I dont think I’d try to guess at correcting the issues until you knew the soil was flushed heavy with phd water because I’m seeing a couple potential issues inthose leaves. On a guess - nitrogen or ph problem. Let me know dude and good luck!👊

Ph is good per the stats and looks potentially like the onset of a potassium deficiency to me. Either that or possibly light burn but the distance would suggest otherwise too. I might wanna drop back your nute mix and check both feed and runoff ph. If there’s any abnormality I would again, give it a solid rinse. Best I got! Good luck!

Might be late to the game here but if you’ve flushed on what’s survived already I’d give it a couple days and monitor for any positive changes. You’ve already got lots of reliable experience I can see already but reach out if u need any help. I was hoping to follow the tangie 😔 but I’ll stick around regardless to see how things recover - best of luck dude, these issues suck!👊

@TheBudWhisperer, thank you so much for dealing with this frustration man! so heres what i did. I took #3 and transplanted her. shes doing the best, it would be a real shame if i muddled that one up lol. anyway the other 2 that were troublesome, like #1 was the smaller one, Ive given it some foliar feeding the last couple days and it looks like its responded, although its leaves appear much different, almost like a different plant, it still looks a little better in color and has grown and picked up its flowers a bit. ive only watered the plants with just water the last few feedings before that, so ive given it some nutes at a tad above half strength. now the one that looks to be acquiring so many deficiencies, ive given that just water for a few days too. it looked both better and worse when i got home from work so im going to let it dry a little from the water its had, and give what you said a try if all else fails. thanks man!
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@FoxyLoxy, yeah if you try to transplant to different soil now u def. run the risk of shocking the plant more than if you just flushed it. Plus, u know they grew in this medium before so that shouldn’t be the problem anyway. I won’t lie dude, I’ve never had a deficiency this severe this early in the cycle. If it were my grow - I’d flush each with about a half gallon - a gallon of phd water (a lot until I got a bunch I’d run off) and then leave it for like 3-4 days to completely dry out. Then I’d start back on it with half your previous nute strength. Before even adding nutes I’d also consider starting with strictly calmag as an additive to your water. The flush will wash out mostly everything in the soil and hopefully your left with a blank slate and the plants respond. Calmag will still be a necessity at this stage of growth once they recover. Sorry, that’s the best I got for ya. Keep it updated, really interested to how this turns out and hoping the best for u!👊

Wow, you have a whole load of issues from the beginning, but they should still survive! I am not familiar with Fox Farms nutrients but most nutrient lines suggest to be watered down to 1/4 strength for your size seedlings/plants. Also, your plants will benefit from a PH of 6.2. The 7.1 you have listed is too high for optimal nutrient uptake and fluctuating PH will also cause nutrient issues. A key factor in spending time and resources on indoor growing is a set of PH and PPM pens so you have precise control of your feedings. These last photos of the plants... I would not say they are rootbound. The one with the nutrient spill may not survive, rinse it off gently with PH'd plain water. They would also benefit with higher relative humidity. Good luck

FoxyLoxycommented6 years ago
@Hellhazard, I've read about foliar feeds but agreed it was an accident to spray the plant, not intentional and definitely unwanted. Thank you for the breakdown of rh, I have charts in my grow room. My question was more towards having multiple plants of different stages together and what a proper RH would be for that. But always appreciated. Putting bags on plants would be a magnifying glass, thats not what I'm doing. I'm creating a humidity dome over the planted seeds once theyve only been slightly germinated. I did it previously to speed up the time between planting the seed and when the seedling chucks its shell off. Once that happens I ditch the bags because like you stated, its just a disaster waiting to happen for many reasons. I agree about taking in foreign plants to my grow environment but they were actually the first plants there. Those clones have been with me about a month already. And I pre-checked them obviously and sprayed an organic pesticide. But I know the grower personally and they grow indoor and take decent care of the plants so I trusted them. The plants themselves are problematic but it didn't have much to do with the grower I believe. I do have a ph meter and a 3-1 moisture, light, pH meter. I posted pictures of them with a question actually. Thank you for your comments @Hellhazard
Hellhazard
Hellhazardcommented6 years ago
@FoxyLoxy, I personally never spray anything on my seedlings or plants (perhaps I'm not a good grower- I don't know).... Cannabis prefers a constant environment. In veg a RH around 65% at 20-25c with lights for clones/seedlings because they have no roots to uptake liquid. Small plants you can drop the RH a bit and large plants in veg can really grow effectively with a low RH of 45% (they uptake a lot of water to cool themselves). When youre budding, you do not want a RH over 55% and in late budding bring it down as much as possible. Putting anything over your plants like bags is not a good idea. They do breathe through the leaves and the bag may cause intense light in spots. Clones (from others) in my opinion are a major risk for infection of your grow area and I never use them, and wouldn't unless the grower they came from was a trusted friend who has no bug issues. Once you get bugs (spider mites, broad mites, thrips) its a major issue to eradicate them without harmful chemicals. (Stay away from your friend's grow area also if they have any of these issues cause you'll take them home with you by accident) Once again I'll also mention to stick to one growing environment (medium/nutes) or you'll never be able to dial in your grow...and purchase some digital pens for PPM and PH, Bluelab makes a great set

FoxyLoxycommented6 years ago
@Hellhazard, Yes from the beginning there was nothing but issues. However if you see the updated week, I've made some adjustments. The clones I got came packed with problems. The tangie was a total loss unfortunately the nutrient spill was just too much. I do have humidifiers in there. Now if you check out everything that's going on in that closet I don't want to have a humidity issue for my other plants that are a tad further along. Again this week as well there are some new seedlings in there, but the 3 week olds and SSH are also in there so what do you suggest is a safe humidity? I've periodically put sandwich bags over them to raise their RH. Everything has also been transplanted to the next size up since. I do have perlite and coco in the soil so I would prefer a lower pH however when they are seedlings like that I do not want to give them any pH down until they are a tad older and can handle more. I had assumed that for now a fluctuating pH would be beneficial? Or am I totally offbase and I should just spray some damn pH down on them? Thanks!

@FoxyLoxy, hey, so what you want to do is get those clones to their forever homes asap, they're getting roots bound and showing loads of unhappiness. Have you tried watering less but more regularly ? your babies will thank you for that !
