Week 2 | Growing
2024-02-22 | D 15 (Aggressive Nutrients Feeding)
Time: 20:32
🌿Plant:
Size: 10 cm
Visual: New growth is barely green. With some light-green/yellowy/white spots on the leaves.
Smell: Weak.
💡Lights:
Distance: 35 cm
Intensity: 58-64 %
💨Air:
Temp: 21.5 C.
Humidity: 60-65 %
Fan 1: Off
Fan 2: On
Dehumidifier: Night Mode.
Exhaust + Filter: 10% (minimum)
💨Around the Canopy:
Temp: 23.5-25 C.
Humidity: 60-65 %
Nutrients Prepared (ml/l) :
Micro: 2
Grow: 1.8
Bloom: 1.3
Calmag: 1.3
Volume: 2 L
Comment: The Plant lacks Nitrogen so I've increased Micro.
I'm using "Aggressive Feed Schedule" by the producer of nutrients.
💧Feeding {Time: 21:00}:
Volume: 2 L
PH: 6
2024-02-23 | D 16 (Tilted)
Time: 21:52
🌿Plant:
Size: 11 cm
Visual: The color is normalizing. New growth becoming greener.
I've noticed that a plant is tilted, especially the base stem. I've used a wire to straighten it up - it's not perfect, will use more wire in the future when the roots will become stronger.
Smell: Weak.
💡Lights:
Distance: 35 cm
Intensity: 60-75 %
💨Air:
Temp: 20.5-22 C.
Humidity: 60-65 %
💨Around the Canopy:
Temp: 22.5-25 C.
Humidity: 60-70 %
2024-02-24 | D 17 (Main-Lining)
Time: 02:51
🌿Plant (Topping):
Operations:
Topping after the 3 rd node.
1 st node is removed, with the leaves.
Visual:
Only the giant leaves of the 2 nd node and the leaves of the third node are remaining.
The colas of the 2 nd node are small but visible.
The colas on the 3 rd node are still way to young - so they could be barely seen.
💡Lights:
Distance: 36 cm
Intensity: 45 %
Comment: Will keep intensity low (below the recommended PPFD), to avoid any light stress - to give the plant time to recover after topping.
Time: 19:31
💨Air:
Temp: 20.5-22 C.
Humidity: 60-65 %
💨Around the Canopy:
Temp: 22.5-23 C.
Humidity: 60-70 %
Nutrients Prepared (ml/l) :
Micro: 1.9
Grow: 1.7
Bloom: 1.2
Calmag: 1.1
Volume: 1.3 L
💧Feeding {Time: 20:00}:
Volume: 1.3 L
PH: 6
💡Lights:
Distance: 30 cm
Intensity: 60 %
Increased to 60% but later changed it to see the optimal intensity.
Seems like it's 30-45%.
2024-02-25 | D 18 (18-6 Light Schedule)
Time: 14:40
💡Lights:
Distance: 30 cm
Intensity: 45 %
Schedule: 18-6
Darkness from 14:00 to 20:00
Comments: Used timer to set the schedule - to give the plant some time to rest from the light stress (because I suspect that the plant has too much stress from topping and environment/lights).
Time: 20:47
🌿Plant:
Size: 11 cm
Visual: Plant is growing again - after ~2 days stun from topping. After 6 h period of darkness, the top leaves perked up.
Smell: Weak.
💡Lights:
Distance: 30-32 cm
Intensity: 50-55 %
💨Air:
Temp: 20-20.5 C.
Humidity: 60-65 %
💨Around the Canopy:
Temp: 21.5-22.5 C.
Humidity: 60-70 %
2024-02-26 | D 19 (Delayed Root Booster)
Time: 05:00
💡Lights:
Distance: 40-45 cm
Intensity: 38-45 %
Comments: Moved the lights back to 40 cm.
SEEMS LIKE THIS IS THE BEST DISTANCE: 40-45 cm (as I figured out before).
Time: 07:06
🌿Plant📈:
Size: 11 cm
Visual: Erect. Dark green. Spreading.
Smell: Weak.
Comment: The plant is growing very fast. This is the result of light's distance* - I must have been stressing out the plant too much because of close distance (I wanted to optimize distance and intensity, thinking that closer lights with lower intensity is the same as high distance + high intensity - turns out 40-45 cm is a necessity).
Time: 23:07
🌿Plant📈:
Size: 11 cm
Visual: Dark Green.
Growth slowed down.
Some parts of leaves are really dark, reflect light and have oily look.
Time of darkness increased the intake and accumulation of nitrogen. Or the plant finally started drinking the nutrients.
Smell: Weak.
Operations:
LST:
Connected bottom colas to the fan leaves to bend them down.
Nutrients Prepared (ml/l) :
Calmag: 0.75
Root Booster: 10
Micro: 0.75
Grow: 0
Bloom: 0
Volume: 0.4 L
Comments: Mega dose of Root Booster. It's pretty late, but not too late.
💧Feeding {Time: 23:00}:
Volume: 0.4 L
PH: 5.8
💡Lights:
Distance: 40-45 cm
Intensity: 45-55 %
2024-02-27 | D 20 (ROOTS FOCUS)
Time: 21:50
🌿Plant📈:
Size: 11 cm
Visual: Dark Green. Darker than the day before.
Leaves are drooping - overwatering.
Smell: Weak.
💡Lights:
Distance: 40-45 cm
Intensity: 50-75 %
Nutrients Prepared (ml/l) :
Calmag: 1.25
Root Booster: 7.5
Micro: 0
Grow: 2
Bloom: 2.5
Volume: 0.4 L
Comments: Giving high dose of Root Booster and Bloom (for phosphorus) to accelerate the roots growth.
💧Feeding {Time: 21:40}:
Volume: 0.4 L
PH: 6.3
2024-02-28 | D 21
🌿Plant📈:
Comment: Grows faster. The root booster is working.
💡Lights:
Distance: 36-42 cm
Intensity: 50-75 %
💨Air:
Temp: 20-21.5 C.
Humidity: 65-70 %
💨Around the Canopy:
Temp: 21.5-22.5 C.
Humidity**: 65-75 %
Impressive diary! That is some next level dedication you showed us! Very impressed by the fact that you topped all of your 4 main stems again after the first topping. I am currently at day 17 and like the idea, maybe I will give it a try as well.
Thank you for sharing your journey and best of luck for all your current and future growing projects! 🙏🌱
@NamasteDave, Hehe. In the past I was growing 4 plants in the same space. But they always grew too much and at some point I thought that just one will be enough - with good training. Seems like it is true.
Did you really top both branches from the first node, or does it just look like it? I am currently soaking a blue dream seed as well and your plant looks like it's going to be a huge harvest 👍🏻
@GnomesAndStones, From my notes:
2024-02-24 | D 17 (Main-Lining)
🕒Time: 02:51
🌿Plant (Topping):
🔧Operations:
Topping after the 3 rd node.
1 st node is removed, with the leaves.
2024-02-29 | D 22 (🌱LST & Topping)
🌿Plant (Topping):
🔧Operations:
Topping (Main-Lining):
2 bottom branches (will become 4).
2024-03-02 | D 24 (Top Topping)
🔧Operations:
Topping (Main-Lining):
2 top branches.
So I've removed the first node and everything after the 3rd. Leavin 2 and 3 only.
Following along as I will try this strain in the near future, also growing in coco. Best of luck the rest of the way.
There are plant ties that have a rubber like coating so they are softer and do not cut into the stems as you experienced, something you may want to consider for next time.
@NamasteDave, 👍Thanks
I'm not sure why I haven't used something better for LST than the cheap wires I bought.
After the damage to the branches, I looked at my net made of thick ropes and thought: "This net rope looks exactly like my camping ropes".
Gonna use ropes from now on, it is way easier to set and adjust, and there is no damage.
