We've had some bad weather so the first week wasn't optimal. Loads of rain so I had to keep the girls where there was less light. This girl has been growing normally so far.
Thanks to some not so good weather we have a pretty slow growth. Hopefully she'll be ready for topping in a few days. I will cut her above the fourth node.
So, firstly I'd like to apologise for the lack of updates. My camera stopped transferring photos to my tablet, and I haven't been able to retrieve those photos. I have been forced to purchase a new laptop to use instead.
These are some photos taken by my phone.
I will try to add some photos from the camera later...
This monster just wouldn't start flowering, and now she has grown into a full on bush!! She's only sitting in a 11 litre pot and she drinks 4 litres of water a day!
Sadly, she's no longer on the schedule I had planned, and she'll keep flowering for a couple of months more. All of August I'm leaving the country and there is no one that can take care of her. I plan to build a watering system that'll keep her hydrated for the month. I've started preparing her already by top dressing flower nutes. Unfortunately I haven't found any flower boosters I can apply by top dressing, so she'll have to do with the top dressed nutes only.
This is a big lady! She is 110 cm tall and very wide. She's forming some massive colas. I have removed some leaves on a daily basis.
In about one week I will leave her and she will be unattended for a whole month. I have started to prepare her by top dressing her. I have given her dry bloom nutes and bat guano and some malted barley. Thanks for the tip about the barley, @Northern_Ent 🙏
I will too dress her once more in a week's time. Then she'll only get silicon in the water for a whole month.
I've purchased a 250 litre water tank to keep her hydrated during August. Over the week I'll build an irrigation system.
So, yesterday I had to leave this big girl, and now she'll be unattended for a while month! Fingers crossed that she'll survive...
I built an irrigation system that hopefully will work for the month. I put about 200 litres of water in the tank and only added pH down and some stuff that should stop germs from growing in the tank. My main worry is the rising pH that increases a bit every day. It'll probably be close to pH 8 by the end of the month.
I top dressed with some dry bloom nutes, guano, and malted barley. Hopefully that'll keep her happy enough during the month.
I sprayed her with a mix of Neem and Potassium soap to try to keep the bugs away.
Sadly the plant is not happy on her own. When I checked in on her the other day through my surveillance camera I saw a collapsed plant. She might have got too heavy, or there has been a storm. I am over 3,000 Kms away and there is nothing I can do for her for another couple of weeks. Hopefully she'll survive. At least my irrigation system is working and she is still hydrated.
😞
So, have a look at the photos. This is what I came back home to after leaving the plant unattended for 1 month.
There was so much dead plant materia on it. Apparently the irrigation system wasn't optimal.
The last 3 pics show the plant after I cleaned it up. I'm not sure wether to try to tie up the branches or just leave it like that.
I had to leave the plant unattended again for another week since I had to leave the country again.
This is supposed to be an auto, but I don't think it is. It refuses to flower! It is over 5 months old now.
I'm not sure wether I'll just cut it down or not. It takes a lot of space and needs about 4 litres of nutrient mix a day. We'll see what I'll do....
This turned into an old lady that refused to flower. Due to new little babies coming now I had to chop her. Thanks to both space issues and worries about having bugs near new plants.
