Things still going great. I had a bit of light burn(upturned leaf edges) so I backed off an inch or two. Other than that no major changes.

Grow Questions

KilgoreTroutstarted grow question 6 years ago
I grow my plants at half of the feed schedule that canna calls for. 5ml/gallon vs the schedule 10 ml/gal. And I get amazing growth. Does anyone think adding all the adjuncts to my grow, feeding full strength really gives you that much more yeild?

Don't follow a set feeding schedule. Keep in mind that the nutrients needs of a plant under 1000 watts are going to be different than one under 250 and that's before taking into account type of light and environmental differences. If 5 ml/gal gives you a healthy plant then keep at it, don't increase the feed, unless you start seeing signs of deficiency. Yield depends on light, not nutes. Don't buy into the additives hype, they are unnecessary and from experience I have never noticed any difference yield wise.

Anyone use Humic acid in their grows with synthetic feeds? What benefits am I looking for? I’ve recently added Zeus juice and I’m unsure of the benefits.

hey kilgore, the fact is that plants cant actually "digest" nutrients what they do is they "digest" "chelated nutrients" which is basically nutrients that have been turned into nitrates and this is done through chelation agents for example enzymes or amino acids like humic and fluvik acids. What's the benefit ? explossive growth from nutrients being made available through chelation. Other benefits include keeping the root system healthy, healthy roots = big growth. You'll see this happen yourself, just make sure you dont over do it because obviously highly available nutrients means increased possibility of nutrient burn. Simple as that. You can even spray it on the leaves for increased metabolism : fast metabolism bigger growth. spray it on last few weeks of veg first week or two of flower. Chelation agents are the magic juice no one tells you about, you'll see ! Hope this helps ! 🚀

Ok, so I’m starting to see a deficiency. Yellowing between the veins at uppermost leaves. My ph is on par. I’m maintaining my grow per normal with one change. I added Carbo load at 2ml/g. Could that be the problem? I think I’m going to flush today and dump my tank. Restart.

Yellowing between veins can be a lot of stuffs bit if you say that it can be spot on the upper leaves then you can be sure it is an immobile nutrients deficiency as the mobile nutrient def is visible on the lower leaves 1st and then spread from the bottom to the top. In you case it can be Iron , manganese or zinc. What is the cause of your trace elements deficiency? I don't know, it can be a straight deficiency which mean you under feeding them a bit or it can be an excess of another nutrient that cause a lockout and made the absorption of the other nutrients difficult. I don't think that carbo load can be responsible for that but you should use a nutrient that contain some trace elements to get rid of your deficiency. Your idea to flush today can be a good solution to reboot the medium 😊👍

Who out there thinks adding all the canna(or any nutrient line) adjuncs is worth the cost of entry? Canna zym, rhizo, boost, starter etc.? I use silica, a&b, magical, and pk13/14 and molasses, that’s it. No boost, no bud hardeners or candy or mammoth, great white, magic fairy dust etc. My grows are getting really great yeilds. So why add all that expensive crap? Why follow feed schedules and just throw nutes down the drain for no increase in yeild or growth? I’ve fed at full strength and my grows don’t grow faster, stronger, bigger etc. I follow what I’ve read and learned at growweedeasy.com and nothing has convinced me of anything else. So convince me your method is better. Because I want to improve and get better yeilds, better, bigger healthyer grows. I just want evidence.

@KilgoreTrout, haha yeah my bad bro no offense meant at all, took me 3 months to figure out what was in it myself lol you got it bro
KilgoreTrout
KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, yes ok I know how to add canna boost. I’ve used it. You made it sound like you used something different. But like I said I had very lackluster outcome in the end. Not to mention the price they ask for that. It’s liquid gold. Nah I’ll pass.

CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@KilgoreTrout, just check my diaries you can see how i add it. it's called canna boost the one i used last time, next time i'll use another brand probably from the start 👍

Well that is a nice jungle dude good job😎...so my only extra nute is a silicate boost product it is scientifically proven that silicate products are increaseing the trichome production up to 6 % ...but you have to be careful ....too much of that stuff and you have black ash all night long baby😄 have a good one

@KilgoreTrout hi bro it is hard say ....some of my plants can take only 0,5ml per gal and some strains can take up to 4 ml per gal .....so no one knows ...have good one man😎
KilgoreTrout
KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@Wachsemilian, yes I use protekt silica at around 2ml per gal. I use it to raise ph as needed, but that’s usually what’s needed. Any idea what’s considered “too much?”

I see you're using a QLed light. How are you liking it so far? I just got a 260w and I am looking for opinions.
KilgoreTrout
KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@Horantu,love it. It’s amazing. I see faster growth with it than I did with my mh/hps. With the added benefits of less heat and a lot less electricity usage. I’m never going back.

Make a gallon of water, check the ppm. Add 5 ml of nutrients and check it again. Subtract to find the difference and write the down in a journal. Dump out the water and test all of your nutrients. If at week 1 she wants 100ppm and week 4 she wants 400 ppm, you can decide the dosage of each to make up the correct ppm. Best of luck.

https://play.google.com/music/m/Ijjnnhf3pxlys7ralzllu7qs73a?t=Cannabis_Cultivation_and_Science_Podcast Hey there you may be able to copy and paste into your search bar, but you asked about the humic acids....I love this podcast, this episode is all about those things. The guys Dr. Faust though had me cracking up as it reminded me of listening to my grandpa talk my ear off about gardening. But it has a huge amount of info on humic acids, fulvic acids etc etc and all the positives he's seen on them . Happy growing. Love your screen setup, looking very even and beautiful.

Very healty and lush green garden you got going on there your girls seem to be loving the envirement 👏👏🤘🤘😉😉 i have a little question what are your toughts on your quantum board are you happy with the results cause i read lots of good things about it and there is one on its way to me but i’m asking people pointers how to properly use it cause i’m use to cfl and hps and a little bit with mars hydro pro 2 epistar 80 but it had dissapointing results during flowering maybe i didnt know how to use it dont know 😉😉

@KilgoreTrout,thank you so much for the info it was very helpfull 😉😉
KilgoreTrout
KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@Silky_smooth, the QB’s are amazing. You’ll love them. I last used a 1000w mh/hps set up and the growth comparison is amazingly better with the QB’s and I’m using 400w less. My personal POV on ANY light is just get them as close as you can. Start high and move closer over the period of a few days. So it was recommended that my lights are set at 25” I think. So I started there and lowered them an inch a day. The plants tell you when they’re unhappy. Edge leaf curl means that’s enough light so when I saw that I backed it up an inch. Every plant is different some need more light some need less you just have to find their sweet spot. But comparing QB to chinesium blurples and itll be night and day. Those things just aren’t the right lights especially for flower. Not enough light.

@BigNate89, it’s an hlg-600 I bought the kit from growerslights.com Quantum boards are amazing!
Athos
Athoscommentedweek 116 years ago
To answer your question: I've tried a few magic juices over time. never yielded a gram over not using it. My best advice is to keep it simple and cheap: grow nute, bloom nute and if needed depending on water source cal mag or similar. Yield depends on light watts and training. You only give plant enough nutrient to power its development and keep it healthy.
KilgoreTrout
KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@@Athos,I tend to agree with you. I’ve never seen any magic bullet with anything I’ve added to my solid base grow. Nothing has ever made me say wow. What an improvement. Lots of snek oils.

KilgoreTroutcommented6 years ago
@Johnnyronco,thanx. The growth with them is shocking. My last set up had a 400w mh and a few chineseum blurples and I swear my growth rate has doubled. Between that and heating and aerating my solution it’s just killing it. I can’t wait to see how flower goes.
