Another flowering week which means leaving the Hobbit alone for the week. The buds are coming in nicely with the fan leaves at full spread the entire week. Clearly she is busy and who am I to interrupt. The Rhino Ryder has just been getting taller and taller (22"). It's insane how she suddenly decided to put on some height. Her bud sites are really starting to come in at well, which makes me happy because if she got any taller I would run into problems. She's as tall as the bottom tote and that is with all the LST that I did. I will definitely be building a scrog for my next grow so I don't run into this issue again. Also did some defoliation to her at the end of the week as she is very bushy which is blocking some bud sites.
Nutrients have been regular and as directed by the various companies. It's been a no brainer kind of grow which makes my life easier. At this point as long as I keep things consistent there shouldn't be any major issues. I do need to dial in the water amount because I'm seeing less and less runoff for the Rhino Ryder, which means she is getting really thirsty. I may have to start feeding a gallon of water everyday and just alternate between just RO and nutrients.
I had an interesting incident on Thursday. I came home from work and the tote was at 88 degrees with 80% humidity. I freaked out. When I opened it up the walls were covered in moisture. It turns out the duct going to carbon filter bucket came off and there was no air circulating inside my grow. I left the grow open for a little while after I re-attched the duct. Everything went back to normal, but I have no idea how long it was like that. Everyone seems to be recovering but me, though the Rhino Ryder is unhappy. What a scare.
Nice tote man! Just saw your post on reddit. I was also conserned about hight, that is why I wanted a bucket, they are easier to stack. But totes give more width to work with.
Good luck and keep it up!
@CloudSlappy, I can emanate that's a pain in the ass! Luckily it's a joy to work on and expand spacebuckets with new features 😁 keep us updated on your setup, very interesting stuff!
@Trainrails,Thanks! I will definitely be adding a scrog. If I can keep the height to 1/2 the bottom tote then height won't be an issue at all. The bigger problem with height is the difference between the two plants and having the lights at a height that makes sense for both. I may put all the lights on a rail system that would allow for adjustable height of the quantum boards while keeping the cob centered.
@HighTV, Yea they are both getting pretty full. I'm starting to finally see some vertical growth, but nothing explosive. I'm hoping to get at least 2' tall.
