This week was more feeding and letting the plants be. I'm reaching the finish line on the Hobbit so there's no sense in messing with the plant too much at this point. I had the side fan on at the start of the week to encourage more airflow in the lower half of the tote. It really helped a ton with getting the Hobbit lower growth to not feel as damp. After a couple of days I turned the fan off and the lower buds were looking much better. Trichomes on the Hobbit are milky with some amber towards the top of the plant and milky towards the bottom. It's definitely time to flush, so on Saturday I started the process with a 5 gallon flush to clear out the nutrients. The flush water went from brown to pretty close to clear. The goal here is to clean out the excess nutrients so the plant will burn out any remaining nutrients in the fan leaves.
The buds for the Rhino Ryder are really coming in nicely. I did make sure to pull the plant out and check for lower bud growth that came since last time I lollipopped it. There wasn't a ton so I just pulled out what grew in. The aroma for the Rhino Ryder is definitely getting stronger, but nothing my Phresh carbon filter can't handle. The aroma has developed a sort of lime/citrus smell. It's really nice. My guess is this plant has another 3 weeks. Definitely past Fast Buds projected growth timeline, but as long as the buds are good I really don't care if it goes a few extra weeks.
Tuesday I repaired the LED side lighting that broke last week and added a second strip of warm white lights. Now I have a mix of warm and cool side lighting. That's 2 Ledmo 5630 LED strips.
Nice tote man! Just saw your post on reddit. I was also conserned about hight, that is why I wanted a bucket, they are easier to stack. But totes give more width to work with.
Good luck and keep it up!
@CloudSlappy, I can emanate that's a pain in the ass! Luckily it's a joy to work on and expand spacebuckets with new features 😁 keep us updated on your setup, very interesting stuff!
@Trainrails,Thanks! I will definitely be adding a scrog. If I can keep the height to 1/2 the bottom tote then height won't be an issue at all. The bigger problem with height is the difference between the two plants and having the lights at a height that makes sense for both. I may put all the lights on a rail system that would allow for adjustable height of the quantum boards while keeping the cob centered.
@HighTV, Yea they are both getting pretty full. I'm starting to finally see some vertical growth, but nothing explosive. I'm hoping to get at least 2' tall.
