I selected a plant and transplanted it into a 26 litre pot. pot. The two remaining plants in the foil tunnel have grown better than the transplanted plant, which is due to the higher humidity and temperature in the foil tunnel. I had considered a larger pot, but considering the time remaining, the 26 litre pot will be the best option. pot will hopefully suffice. The soil in the pot consists of 60% peat-free potting compost and 40% garden soil. The whole thing was mixed with cattle manure in pellet form and horn meal. The bottom of the pot was covered with red lava gravel. The plan for this plant is to simply let it grow as it wishes.

Is it necessary to defoliate plants growing outdoors in pots or in the garden soil? What I read about this is very contradictory.

There is no straight answer. It depends on the plant and your environment. Like asking if anti freeze is important in a car. If you are somewhere it gets below freezing, probably yes. If not, probably no. It all depends on the humidity and airflow. Plants are only at the pinnacle of evolution for the environment they evolved in. If you remove them from that climate and grow them elswhere, they may do terribly as they are not suited for that climate or environment. Like a polar bear trying to survive in the Sahara, pinnacle predator in the cold, but dead fast in the heat. We are now growing mostly polyhybrids bred for stable indoor climates and sometimes they need some help outside. You need to work out what is best for your environment.

As the temperatures drop, you’ve got the perfect setup to help your plants transition quickly into the flowering phase after those high temps. Fingers crossed that everything plays out well! 🌡️🌸
