1. New Year, new tent, new lights, new grow!!! 2. This is 1 of 4 autos in my new tent. This bean was a freebie when I ordered a package of their Brooklyn Sunrise Seeds. Unfortunately Brooklyn met an untimely demise. 3. She is on an 18/6 light cycle. Currently I'm feeding Recharge at half strength to help with root development. I'll begin feeding AN Sensei Grow at 25% strength as soon as the first set of real leaves are fully developed. I'll increase the strength to full strength by the time she starts flowering.

1. This light is really, really bright! The plants are loving it. 2. Currently I'm watering every 3 days with 1l of filtered water. They received a full dose of Recharge on their last watering. Since the plant has reached its first full set of leaves, I'm going to start feeding nutrients at .25 strength. I will increase to .5 then full strength within the next 2 weeks depending on how OCP responds. I'd like to get at least 1 full cycle of feeding at full strength before she flips out!

1. OCP jumped into action this week! There has been tons of growth! She is showing fat, fat leaves and not a lot of vertical growth. 2. This was the first week of feeding. OCP received 1l filtered water+25% Strength Sensei Grow A+B. This was done every 3 days. On the 3rd feeding OCP was given 2l Filtered Water+Full Strength Recharge. I will increase the dosage to 50% on this week's feedings. I'll increase dosage to 100% next week depending on her response to 50% feedings. I'll also look at whether she is transitioning to flower yet. 3. I will continue to use veg nutes until true flowers emerge. Then I'll switch to flowering nutes. I'll be using Sensei Bloom A+B, Big Bud, Bud Candy, and Overdrive. Of course, not all at once. 4. I'm considering doing a little bit of defoliation to open up those secondary nodes. I'm undecided though. I'd really like to leave this auto grow alone. Let it do its thing.

1. OCP is taking her sweet time! I have seen little indication that she is getting ready to flower. I've done some LST to her branches since I have the time. I thought about topping her as well, but I think its too late now. If I grew this strain again, I would certainly treat it like a photo since it appears to have a longer veg period. 2. I will continue using veg nutes until I start to see true flowers. Currently I am at full strength for Sensei Grow A+B. Quantities of Recharge will not change throughout the grow. 3. The development of this plant has required me to increase the amount of filtered water from 1l to 2l. 4. I turned down the heaters and exhaust fans in the grow tents. The room was getting really muggy. The slightly lower temps might induce this hesitant auto to flip.

1. Still waiting..... 2. Punch is still transitioning to flower. Based on other grows in the GD community, I know that this strain flowers later than some other autos. I'm thinking by the end of week 6 at the latest. 3. Since she is not really flowering, I've been doing some LST on the secondary nodes. I've really been able to spread the base out so that when she starts to flower, there will be lots of viable budsites. I'll start to prune off the lower, popcorn budsites once she has started to stretch and develop true flowers. 4. If I had thought ahead, I would've topped this strain. The other autos in the tent started flowering around week 3+. There was no time for the plant to develop enough to top it. This one, however, would've given me enough veg time to top the plant and get a few more budsites. Something I need to keep in mind for future auto grows. 5. She is still getting full strength veg nutes. I'll switch to flowering nutes after the flowers appear.

I could use a little feedback about my variegated leaves. I provided pictures. I would say she has about 10% variegation. Ph, PPM, Temps, Humidity, are all within normal parameters. I'm running a 260wQB in a 4x4 tent. She is about 20" from the light. Other plants are fine.

Hi @Quexos! This is genetic randomness, this can stunt the plant if the bleaching spread, since chlorophyll is essential to the photo-synthesis process. However I see your plant went through this issue and grew up nicely, this shouldn't be a problem anymore. Keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊

1. The auto that wasn't.... We are in week 6 now, and this is the only auto in the tent that isn't flowering like crazy. Growth is great. I've been using LST to open up the interior and spread out the budsites. At least I'm creating an awesome canopy! 2. She is still receiving full strength veg, nutes and Recharge. I'll change over to flowering nutes when she is ready. 3. She is still randomly producing variegated leaves. I've looked at some other photos of the same strain and I see variegated leaves here and there so I'm not going to worry...much.

1. The little auto that wasn't.... 2. She is still cruising along in veg. mode. Before you say she is about ready to flower, look at the same photos from the last 2 weeks.😟 3. I'm defoliating and doing LST while I wait for her to flower. She is still on the full strength veg. nutes schedule. 4. The variegated leaves are showing up far less often now that she is older. I hardly notice they are there. 5. For now I'm just going to let her be, but I can pull her out of the grow tent and put her in a dark room for an extra 6 hours of darkness to force flip her. However, that means I'd have to take her to a separate place every day until the rest of the tent is harvested. I'd be toting her back and forth for a minimum of 4 weeks!😖

1. She is a very, very healthy little girl, but she is a very bad auto. 2. I thought of taking drastic measures this week. My idea was to pull her out of the tent after 12 hours of light and putting her in a dark closet. That should trigger flowering. However, if she is really an auto, reducing the light might really reduce the potential of this strain. 3. Also, while inspecting the main stalk I think I saw some pre-flowering pistils. They are small, and I can't be sure, but I can give it some more time. 4. Meanwhile, I'm trying not to defoliate, but she is producing so many leaves, its difficult to keep bud sites open to the light. I will feed just filtered water for a week and see if that helps her transition. It looks like she will flower any day now, but she has looked that way for a few weeks.

1. Nothing is really happening. She is just producing leaves and developing some serious secondary growth. I've been trying not to defoliate, but I still have to thin her out once a week. 2. I almost changed her lighting schedule this week, but I noticed numerous pre-flowering pistils when I was inspecting the plant. These aren't the spiky things at the nodes. These look more like a bulb with tiny pistils coming out the end. This gives me hope that she will "auto" up. 3. My new plan is to let her do her thing until I'm ready to harvest the other 3 autos in the tent. If she hasn't begun flowering then I will transplant her in a 7 gallon pot, let her recover, then flip the lights to a 12/12 cycle. That gives her almost 3 weeks to make up her mind whether she is an auto, or a photo.

1. Here comes the problem child. 2. I made the decision to transplant her from her 3g pot to a 7g. pot. She was really rootbound to the bottom of the sack. I used Forest Ocean as fill dirt. It is high in Calcium which my plant appears to be needing. I watered her with 1g of filtered water+Recharge+Sensei cal-Mag Xtra. 3.Once she has recovered from the stress of transplanting, I'm going to force flower her. The other 3 autos should be done by that time. I can also pull her out of the tent for the last week to reduce her light cycle, but in that large sack she is quite heavy. 4. I'm noticing a lot of yellowing of newer growth. You can see it clearly in the top view photo. I'm also noticing some yellowing around the viens of newer leaves. It goes away over time, but it can't be right. 5. I did a slurry test earlier this week. PH was 6.7 and PPM were 440. I've also been testing my water before and after adding nutrients. Nothing seems to be amiss. I've been adding Demeter's Destiny to help with Calcium. I switched to AN's Sensei Cal-Mag Xtra this week. It has Mag, Iron, and other micro-nutrients that might help. 5. If she ever decides to flower, I'll use a SCROG screen to spread out all of the budsites. She could be a magnificent plant.

1. She may not want to grow up, but she is a robust plant. She bounced back from transplanting within 2 days easily. My last feeding of Recharge also helped. 2. Currently she is only being fed with 4l filtered water+Sensei Cal-Mag Xtra. She was a bit spotty and her leaves and veins were a little yellow. 3. If she would like to flower any time soon, I am more than happy for that to happen. However, my current plan is to let her grow until I harvest the 3 autos in the tent. 2 of the autos will come down this week. I haven't decided on the 3rd. Once the tent is empty of the autos, I will flip the lights to a 12/12 schedule and treat this plant like a photo.

1. This has become a transition week for The Queen. I disrupted her light cycle on Tuesday. She spent a day in the dark tent. I reset the lights to 12/12. Finally I started giving flowering nutes at 50% strength. We shall see. 2. I actually contacted Dutch Passion about the problem. They suggested I switch her light schedule too. I want to thank them for getting back to me. That's great customer service!👍 3. She has really bushed out since transplanting. I'd really like to defoliate her to open up budsites, but I think I'll wait until I see some stretching. 4. Some of the yellowing and discoloration has gone away. I'm still adding Cal-Mag every 3rd watering.

1. And it shall come to pass that the bush will bring forth flowers! 2. Flowers appeared less than a week after flipping the light schedule. I gave her a few days to develop then I did a defol to open the bud sites. I trimmed lots and lots of leaves! 3. The addition of Cal-Mag has really helped her color. Her new growth is greener than before.

1. We are cruising through flowering now! Stretch is continuing and bud sites are developing very nicely. 2. I've been trying to clear the under-canopy. There are tons of little budsites all up and down the bud stalks. I'd like to prune a lot of those off so she can direct her energy towards the beautiful canopy that is forming! 3. OCP is getting full strength flowering nutes at this point. I'm feeding 4l of filtered water every 3 days. I keep my regular schedule: Feed-Feed-Cal-Mag. 4. The addition of Cal-Mag on off feeding days has really been great for this girl. She was showing all sorts of minor deficiencies. Now she is just killing it. This will be the largest plant I've grown in 40 years.

1. She is cruising right along. I have about 6-8 really nice bud stalks developing. There are also a ton of minor bud sites a little lower and on the outsides of the canopy. 2. I've been really trying to clean up the canopy and under growth. This plant stayed in veg for a long time and built up a bush-like appearance. I've had to move individual branches to access those tiny buds and branches. 3. She is being fed full strength bloom nutes in 4l of filtered water. She is a thirsty girl. She is drinking every 3rd day. The key to keeping this strain happy has been the Cal-Mag feeding every 3rd watering. She was really struggling without it. 4. Now it's just a waiting game. I can't wait to see those bud stalks fill in! I have supports for them!

1. Nothing exciting to report. She is developing nicely. Buds are filling out the stalks. There should be some extra nice colas when I harvest. 2. I've noticed she is pretty thirsty. I normally water 4l every 3 days, but I'm going to have to either increase the volume of water, or the frequency in which I water.

1. All is well in the NeverEnding Grow. 2. I was originally shooting for a 10 weeks of flowering, but the buds are starting to look closer to being done. Therefore, I'm going to cut out 2 rounds of flowering nutes, and begin the late flowering phase of this grow. 3. I'll be reducing Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy to 75% strength. I will also stop using Big Bud, but instead use Overdrive at full strength. 4. Instead of 5 weeks until harvest, I'm guessing 3 weeks. 5. I also looked up this strain on Dutch Passion's website and they say this strain is done around 7 weeks of flower. 5. I expect trichome production to really pick up in the next few weeks as she starts to ripen. I might have to start supporting some of the outside branches.

1. This is the last week for OCP. I'm starting to see some nice amber trichomes. I wanted to feed her one last week, but I think she is ready for flushing and harvest. 2. I'll be adding Flawless Finish to my Filtered water the last few feedings. Then I'll flush with fresh water, let her dry out a bit, then put her in the dark for 3 days. 3. I'm really pleased with how this plant turned out. She is fragrant to the touch, the buds are large, fat and dense. She is also a beast of a plant compared to the others that I've grown so far. I'm looking forward to this harvest.

She was a heavy foliage producer. Had I known that she wasn't an auto, I would've done a lot more training and defoliating to keep bud sites open. Otherwise she was a very easy grow. I did run into some Cal-Mag issues early on. She started throwing variegated leaves. I increased her Cal-Mag intake and that went away. i love Cal-Mag!

This was supposed to be a simple auto grow, but someone had different plans. She never flowered, despite giving her 10 weeks. I decided to treat her like a photo. i up-potted to a 7g smart pot then flipped her to a 12/12 light cycle. After that it was a smooth sailing. She flowered for about 10w and produced a goodly amount of dense, fragrant buds.

cut out the veg nutes and stop defoliating, switch to flower nutes and pray

@CRiSPrGrow, I gave it another week. There is still little change. I only used Recharge and no nutes at all. I'll just use plain water for a week or so and see if that helps. I can't completely stop defoliating. This strain puts out so many fat leaves, it shades everything above it. I'll try to keep it at a minimum if I can. Raising the light has had little effect on height either. Thanks for the ideas. Worse comes to worse, I can transplant into a larger pot, and treat her like a photo. The auto tent will be open in a few weeks.

@TheBudWhisperer, I've never had any deficiencies in my grow before. I'm using a new brand of nutes though. I also switched soils, so who knows. Yeah, I don't want to haul that plant out of the tent every morning. I keep saying, "Give it one more week!"
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, I can appreciate that for sure. If it helps u make up your mind I’m actually the opposite with my feedings and switch to my bloom cycle of nutes the same week I flip the light sched. So far no deficiencies at all really. It follows botanicares recommended schedule too but every nute co. Will be a little different obviously. Whatever you do decide I’m hoping u won’t have to haul it in and out every damn day for 2 months - that would suck.

@TheBudWhisperer, Ack! Now its in writing! I havent grown enough yet to know my favorite strain. I really like to buy diesel strains, but I haven't grown any yet. Soon! I have some auto diesel seeds coming from a breeder in the U.S. I'm really excited.

@Quexos, lol! Yeah she shot down the home brew idea right quick cuz I woulda done exactly that! Lol. And I agree whole heartedly - I have some staple strains (northern lights & diesel) but try to grow something different every grow as well. Gotta keep “diversifying” so to speak. As far as the light is concerned - the price is the other thing she doesn’t know... 😉👍

@ChainsawSanta, No idea really. This seed was a freebie from Seedsman. It was labelled auto. I contacted Dutch Passion and they said it HAD to be mislabelled. They said there was zero chance it was one of their autos. I guess it could be the photo version.

Dude - I really like the compromise for moving to flower👍. Probably the best option I have and maybe you end up just crushing the yield count on this grow🤞🤞🤞
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, Experience is key! I've only been growing for a year now. This will be my 4th and 5th grow. Every time I start, I think I have it dialed in for the perfect grow. But then you get snow storms, variegated leaves, autos that aren't, etc.. Keeps it interesting I guess.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, pretty much yeah. But only because we often forget we’re growing life at the end of the day. Sometimes it’s just what it is. I was chatting with a dude the other day about germ. Rates - we were both sitting at like 99% and then all of a sudden you go on a streak where like 75% don’t even pop... WTF?!?! That’s life I guess😂. Shit I’m dealing with it right now lol
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, This is the first time I've run into anything like this. I've had some plants take forever to show true flowers, but never an auto not auto! The longer I grow the more often these weird things are going to happen I guess.

Where is is this mystical variegation u speak of? Gotta see it dude - can u snap a pic of it?
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, The only info I've been able to find is that this is an XXL seed. I would imagine that a high yielding plant might take longer to develop before it flips. You make a good point about genetics though. I just got some free seeds from Fastbuds. They are an AK47 style strain. supposedly they are the same way. They take a long time to flower, and they grow out of the tent! I had heard that about a lot of Pineapple Express. They are kinda wild!
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, hear that and no worries. And I’ve seen this issue with autos before too. Pretty sure it was @dunkjunk Pineapple Express grow. Check it out and it might give u a timeline if ya got the same thing. Could just be that the ruderalis trait is weak or non-existent in er. No way to really know until she flowers.... or doesn’t. 🤔 his grow was messed up, And the results were ridonk!

@TheBudWhisperer,I know that in other plants its an adaptation to light. I had never seen it in plants.I wasn't worried at first, but I was reading one of the cannabis newsletters and they were talking about some sort of tobacco mosaic virus and it freaked me out. I'm not really worried anymore though. The only symptom is the variegation and that is probably genetic. I'm a little more concerned about this plant not going into flower. She will be 7 weeks this Friday and I am not seeing any pre-flowering at all. I can force flip her, but it would require me to pull her out of the tent daily and put her in a dark closet. I'm going to wait until the 7 week mark then maybe make a decision. Hey, thanks for looking at the photos. Always good to have another set of eyes.

TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, that’s probably a better guesstimate than 8 regardless. It always seems somewhere around those weeks. Unless ur growing the grin - that strain is straight up fucked!
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, I used to go with the idea of a 10 week flowering period, but that doesn't work anymore.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, meh - I don’t really pay much attention to the weeks anymore. Anything around the 8 week mark seems about right and she finishes when she finishes. Ur about to be significantly rewarded for that extra veg. Time though - fo sho!

I’m hoping to have this veg. Problem on my hydro grow. Damn root rot cost me a whole week of growth and I’m freakn she’s gonna be stunted. It could always be worse and this thing will be a behemoth👍. Ur gonna rival some of the longest diaries on this site! Lol
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, you bet. 4 plant limit per property here so I’ll be running two on the back deck and 2 under the cobs (probably with a little cycle overlap to keep things steady😉). That said, I’ve also got access to another property and will be running at least a couple more over there too. My indoor space is the prime real estate now though - safest, most controllable and no access for anyone other than me and the misses👍
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, You have outdoor season coming up right? Are you going to run outdoors and under the COBs? I might be able to put a small auto in a pot outside. I worry about neighbors and meter readers.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, dude tell me about it. I have the exact same problem only with photos. Tried to sneak in an auto run before spring, ran into germ. Issues, now root rot and now I’m a month behind on a photo cycle for humbolt and spliff seeds😡. Only good news is that the new space and cobs are up and running👍. We’re behind on the grow list but the next runs are gonna be better than ever!

Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, Yeah, she was certainly a problem child. She had all sorts of problems early on. There was the variegated leave thing. Then she started showing a lot of yellowing. Cal-Mag seemed to solve all of those problems though and she is super healthy looking. I ended up contacting Dutch Passion. They said to treat it like a photo since it was probably mis-labelled. They also said there was zero chance that it was an auto since it didn't flower on its own.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos,yeah mon - those 5-8 secondary’s will make all the difference IMO. Bet ur just happy that she actually/finally flowered! 😂😂😂
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, I really think she will produce. She has at least 5 major bud stalks going. There are another 5-8 secondary stalks that are right behind the top ones n development.

looks like flowering to me bro, let s see if she decides to become and auto monster after all
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, I guess. Its never happened to me, but I haven't been growing that long. I think its more likely the seed was not an auto. You are right though. "That's the way the genetics crumble!"
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, these things happen right.... unfortunate but that's just the way genetics crumble sometimes right?
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, She still isn't flowering. It does look like it, but that has been the case for about 4-5 weeks now. I'm going to transplant this weekend into a 7 gallon pot. Once she is recovered, I'm going to "flip" her.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommentedweek 96 years ago
Re: scrog net - plant ties, nets or otherwise, either method should control height pretty well. Regardless, I think ur gonna end up with a 30” plant here dude😉👍😎
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@Quexos, please show for sure dude. And yeah - ph is def. not the issue. For soil ur right in the wheel house👍
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, That's nothing. I was just worried it would get over 4 ft. I've been getting some weird discoloration on new leaf growth. It goes away as the leaf gets older, but I decided to look it up. I might be having pH problems. I did a slurry test and my soil is at 6.76 and 440 PPM. I can easily drop it, but 6.76 shouldn't be causing lock out of any sort. I'll put in some photos when I do my update this week.

Wow, this is a weird grow 😀 I hope it will transition into a nice photo period grow with big yields! Do you think the order got mixed up and they shipped photoperiod seeds?
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@smurgrow, It was a freebie when I ordered from Seedsman. I contacted Dutch Passion about the problem. They recommended that I just treat it like a photo. They thought it was mis-labeled somehow. They said the chances of one of their autos not flowering was 0%! I'm not worried. She looks great right now! There are tons of viable bud sites. I have at least 5 bud stalks that are going to be huge! The only issue I'm having right now is trying to keep it defoliated enough to get light into the canopy. She is thick like a bush.
Finsfan
Finsfancommentedweek 96 years ago
I can't believe she's still vegging. I've heard of autos doing that every once in awhile;luckily I've yet to experience this. Hopefully once u put lighting to 12/12 it makes a change; good luck! Liking great otherwise
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Finsfan, This is a first for me. I didn't know autos could not flower. She is growing like crazy since I repotted her into a 7g. container. I've also been adding Cal-Mag. She was looking a bit yellow. I'll give her another week to recover then I'll flip her. I think my other autos are ready for harvest. That opens up the tent.

End of day prob. a good call on the transplant for sure dude. Make er a photo and run the light sched. Change I guess right? Re: leaf colouring - I wanna say mag. Deficiency right out the gate. Only problem is that it usually presents itself in older growth. More than likely (if there’s actually a problem because this going away) it’s root binding and may clear up in the next few days👍. Good luck with it dude🤞👊
