India_Calcoen Iβm starting my first indoor grow! I decided to grow Zamnesiaβs landrace pack. I want to get familiar with the origins of contemporary hybrid strains. Itβs going to be a challenge - growing radically different genetics with diverging growth and flowering times, all in the same tent. I will need a lot of patience and settle for a lower yield, but I love starting a new learning journey!
Iβm intrigued by the relationships between people and their (heritage) crops and animals. My other hobby is raising RonquiΓ¨res turkeys. The original breed of turkeys that were domesticated by the indigenous people of central America and brought to Europe by Spanish explorers in the early 1500s. The Belgian artist Joachim Beuckelaer painted a (dead) turkey in 1566 that looks exactly like my turkey tom named βHempieβ.

India_Calcoen My seed was planted on the 22nd directly into soil and germinated on the 26th of November. I transplanted the seed with it's growbag to a 12,5 litre Airpot on the 3rd of December. The growbags are quite handy when I want to transplant a seedling from the propagator to the pot. I can lift the seedling with it's soil easily and the roots grow easily through the growbag.
I have 4 seedlings growing at this moment. Thai from the Landrace Pack didn't germinate so I decided to grow Lamb's Bread instead. I planted the Lamb's Bread seed in the propagator on the 28th of November. I prepared a pot for it. I put a beer bottle to keep a hole for the seedling. I hoped to grow some new beer, but nothing happened πΊπ»ππ

Panama Red is growing fast and fine! The soil is drying fast and I'm checking everyday if I need to water her. She gets plain water or water with Plagron Power Roots. I'm planning to train her and waiting untill she is large enough to top.

Last Wednesday I topped my Panama Red. She has a thick stem and wide, big leaves. I did not expect this from a 100% sativa. Today I decided to defoliate her and open her up a little. This is my first time training a plant. First time topping was a bit scary, but the plant is doing fine.

Panama Red is showing some yellow spots on her leaves, but she is growing okay. I gave her 1 litre of plain water today. I think I gave them a bit too little the last few days. I will closely monitor her reaction.

Panama Red is growing like a thick bush. She looks the best of all my plants right now. I defoliated some lower leaves, topped her for the second time and bended her branches some more. I should not wait too long with going into flower. She needs a lot of weeks to finish and I donβt want her to get too tall. But first I want Afghani to get better β€οΈβ

Afghani seems calcium-deficient and when I checked Panama Redβs leaves I saw some brown spots. I decided to add CalMag to the feeding water. I hope I can start flowering soon. These girls need to be finished before my next outdoor grow starts.

Panama Red is growing fine. She was a really dense bush so I decided to defoliate her a bit. I found some hairy stigmas on her stem. She decided to go flowering before I even switched to 12/12!
Maybe she has some stress because I hung the lamp a bit higher? Today I switched to flower πΊ

Panama Red is growing good. She is a thick bush! I cut off some of the leaves that were covering side stems. I hope she wil stretch and I will see her structure. I have no idea what to defoliate and cut off right now π π€ She is growing like a round, green ball

Panama Red is growing great, drinking one litre of feeding solution each day. I defoliated her today and also cut off some side branches that were hiding under her canopy. She started flowering and little buds are forming πΊ

Third week of 12/12 for Panama Red and she stopped stretching. Her buds are developing nicely, she has nice, white hairs. I saw some brown tips but didnβt find any herming in the tent. Itβs probably some stress or me touching the plant. Itβs quite crowded in the tent! I defoliated her today again. Cut some branches. Cutting branches hurts! But I hope the rest of the buds will develop better.

Panama Red is growing nicely. I have to defoliate her some more, but Iβm not in a hurry. She is a nice, little bush. The shortest plant in my tent.

Two weeks ago I had an epidural and it left me with an intense headache that almost lasted for two weeks. I had to remain flat for most of the days and couldnβt do my business as usual. The first days after the procedure I even had to ask my husband to feed and water my plants. Fortunately everything went fine. Iβm glad that is over now! Usually I have a daily, chronic headache and a migraine 4-8 days a month, but the epidural headache was the worst ever!
The buds of my plants are filling up nicely. Panama Red still needs lots of weeks of flowering. I wonder how she will turn out! Lambβs Bread pollinated her a bit, but I hope the amount of seeds will be minimal. I expected her to grow taller, but maybe I was lucky, keeping the temperature a bit low during veg. Panama Red looks like a small, healthy bush. Everything is going fine, the feeding and the watering. I love my dehumidifier which keeps humidity stable and low, just like I want it in the flowering phase.
What I have learned, or at least read in books and guides, is that you should cut away the leaves on the inside so that light can get in, so if you want to remove something, I would do that.
But there are certainly better or more experienced people here who can tell you more about it.
Nati can definitely tell you something about it @Natrona.
@India_Calcoen, @Kushycat starting from the bottom, I remove any leaf pointing to the center, any leaf shading budsites. Move around the plant as you go. Limit to 25% or less. Always leave the crown with at least 3 leaves. Be reserved until you are comfortable with the process. And give time to recoup.
