India_Calcoen I’m starting my first indoor grow! I decided to grow Zamnesia’s landrace pack. I want to get familiar with the origins of contemporary hybrid strains. It’s going to be a challenge - growing radically different genetics with diverging growth and flowering times, all in the same tent. I will need a lot of patience and settle for a lower yield, but I love starting a new learning journey! I’m intrigued by the relationships between people and their (heritage) crops and animals. My other hobby is raising Ronquières turkeys. The original breed of turkeys that were domesticated by the indigenous people of central America and brought to Europe by Spanish explorers in the early 1500s. The Belgian artist Joachim Beuckelaer painted a (dead) turkey in 1566 that looks exactly like my turkey tom named “Hempie”. Panama Red – Zamnesia Seeds Genetics: 100% Sativa THC: 17% CBD: 1% Flowering time: 11-12 weeks

India_Calcoen My seed was planted on the 22nd directly into soil and germinated on the 26th of November. I transplanted the seed with it's growbag to a 12,5 litre Airpot on the 3rd of December. The growbags are quite handy when I want to transplant a seedling from the propagator to the pot. I can lift the seedling with it's soil easily and the roots grow easily through the growbag. I have 4 seedlings growing at this moment. Thai from the Landrace Pack didn't germinate so I decided to grow Lamb's Bread instead. I planted the Lamb's Bread seed in the propagator on the 28th of November. I prepared a pot for it. I put a beer bottle to keep a hole for the seedling. I hoped to grow some new beer, but nothing happened 🍺🍻😉😎

India_Calcoen 14-12-2025 Panama Red is growing fast and fine! The soil is drying fast and I'm checking everyday if I need to water her. She gets plain water or water with Plagron Power Roots. I'm planning to train her and waiting untill she is large enough to top.

India_Calcoen 21-12-2025 Last Wednesday I topped my Panama Red. She has a thick stem and wide, big leaves. I did not expect this from a 100% sativa. Today I decided to defoliate her and open her up a little. This is my first time training a plant. First time topping was a bit scary, but the plant is doing fine.

India_Calcoen 28-12-2025 Panama Red is showing some yellow spots on her leaves, but she is growing okay. I gave her 1 litre of plain water today. I think I gave them a bit too little the last few days. I will closely monitor her reaction.

India_Calcoen 03-01-2026 Panama Red is growing like a thick bush. She looks the best of all my plants right now. I defoliated some lower leaves, topped her for the second time and bended her branches some more. I should not wait too long with going into flower. She needs a lot of weeks to finish and I don’t want her to get too tall. But first I want Afghani to get better ❤️‍ 07-01-2026 Afghani seems calcium-deficient and when I checked Panama Red’s leaves I saw some brown spots. I decided to add CalMag to the feeding water. I hope I can start flowering soon. These girls need to be finished before my next outdoor grow starts.

India_Calcoen 11-01-2025 Panama Red is growing fine. She was a really dense bush so I decided to defoliate her a bit. I found some hairy stigmas on her stem. She decided to go flowering before I even switched to 12/12! Maybe she has some stress because I hung the lamp a bit higher? Today I switched to flower 🌺

India_Calcoen 18-01-2026 Panama Red is growing good. She is a thick bush! I cut off some of the leaves that were covering side stems. I hope she wil stretch and I will see her structure. I have no idea what to defoliate and cut off right now 😅🤓 She is growing like a round, green ball

India_Calcoen 02-02-2026 Third week of 12/12 for Panama Red and she stopped stretching. Her buds are developing nicely, she has nice, white hairs. I saw some brown tips but didn’t find any herming in the tent. It’s probably some stress or me touching the plant. It’s quite crowded in the tent! I defoliated her today again. Cut some branches. Cutting branches hurts! But I hope the rest of the buds will develop better.

India_Calcoen 20-02-2026 Two weeks ago I had an epidural and it left me with an intense headache that almost lasted for two weeks. I had to remain flat for most of the days and couldn’t do my business as usual. The first days after the procedure I even had to ask my husband to feed and water my plants. Fortunately everything went fine. I’m glad that is over now! Usually I have a daily, chronic headache and a migraine 4-8 days a month, but the epidural headache was the worst ever! The buds of my plants are filling up nicely. Panama Red still needs lots of weeks of flowering. I wonder how she will turn out! Lamb’s Bread pollinated her a bit, but I hope the amount of seeds will be minimal. I expected her to grow taller, but maybe I was lucky, keeping the temperature a bit low during veg. Panama Red looks like a small, healthy bush. Everything is going fine, the feeding and the watering. I love my dehumidifier which keeps humidity stable and low, just like I want it in the flowering phase.

India_Calcoen 8-03-2026 My female plant, Panama Red, is doing fine on Women’s day! She is still in the middle of flowering, as expected. Sodaboi pointed out that my plants could have nitrogen toxicity and I think he is right. The leaves are a very intense dark green, Burger Kush even has some burning of the tips… I checked the ingredients of my Plagron products and a lot of my supplements also contain nitrogen. I’m learning from this for my next grows! Thank you Sodaboi! The next few days I’m going to give her water with only some Plagron Green Sensation. It’s the only product without nitrogen.

India_Calcoen 15-03-2026 The last few weeks were hectic and sad. My father-in-law was suffering from horrible pains in his body, in his bones, from cancer. Chemo didn’t work anymore, pain medication couldn’t ease his pain. He asked me before if I could give him some of my ‘hasjiesj’ (he used to call it that way), but I only got permission to try something two weeks ago. We used my vaporiser and RQS Milky Way F1. It didn’t do wonders, but he was able to laugh and make fun with his relatives and friends that were coming to our house and saying goodbye to him. I’m glad I could make him feel a little bit better on these moments that mattered. Last week he passed away. 🖤💫 Panama Red is doing fine. Her buds are getting heavy and I used some wire to tie the branches to stay up. I’m giving her plain water and every other day one ml Green Sensation. Her leaves are so dark green, I don’t think I need to feed her that much.

India_Calcoen 22-03-2026 I gave Panama Red a less nutrients and it showed. Her leaves turned yellow immediately! According to the breeders information she should be finished in 1-3 weeks. Her buds are getting heavy and the branches are bending outwards. That’s good, now the light can penetrate the plant and shine on lower buds. I’m still satisfied with how this grow goes.

India_Calcoen 04-04-2026 Harvest is near! The leaves of Panama Red are getting dry and crispy, her pistills are brown (some new ones emerge) and trichomes look mainly milky and amber. Her flowering is taking longer than stated in my diary. She already had stigmas before I switched the light to 12/12 and she is flowering for 13 weeks now! I’m so happy with this grow! ❤️

What I have learned, or at least read in books and guides, is that you should cut away the leaves on the inside so that light can get in, so if you want to remove something, I would do that. But there are certainly better or more experienced people here who can tell you more about it. Nati can definitely tell you something about it @Natrona.
India_Calcoen
India_Calcoen commented5mo ago
@Kushycat, thank you! You are right, I should cut more leaves of from the inside. Maybe even some small side stems…
Natrona
Natrona commented4mo ago
@India_Calcoen, @Kushycat starting from the bottom, I remove any leaf pointing to the center, any leaf shading budsites. Move around the plant as you go. Limit to 25% or less. Always leave the crown with at least 3 leaves. Be reserved until you are comfortable with the process. And give time to recoup.

@Webacca, I think it’s beginners luck 🍀 combined with genetics. I only topped her twice and she got this nice bushy structure. Maybe you could try Panama Red from some different breeders? To see the differences? I don’t know who has the ‘real thing’. This one from Zamnesia wasn’t stretching that much ☺️

Oh no, now I actually have tears in my eyes. Even though we only know each other from here and I never even met your father-in-law, this really touches me deeply right now. I’m so incredibly sorry that you had to go through this loss. I wish you strength and hope you have loving people around you who are there for you. The plant looks great, and it looks like it’ll be ready soon.
India_Calcoen
India_Calcoen commented3mo ago
@Kushycat, thank you 🙏 I realised there is not enough knowledge about our lovely plants, even with people that have the power to prescribe it to their patients. It only became an option after all the other pain medication (opioids) failed. I think he could have the benefits of our plant earlier, if all those people involved didn’t hesitate for so long. I’m sad to hear you were in so much pain after your operations. I’m glad that that’s over now. I’m also happy about a lot of nice distractions, harvest of my final two plants is approaching, spring is here and I can almost plant my seeds for the summer and your plants are also almost ready to harvest!
Kushycat
Kushycat commented3mo ago
@India_Calcoen, Opioids are so deceptive—yes, they take away your pain, sometimes even extreme pain, and it’s good that they exist, but the downside is also extreme. Of course, weed can also have very negative effects—paranoia, etc.—but that’s more of an exception, and the addiction caused by opioids is no joke, and a lot of money is made off of it too. See the opioid crisis in the U.S., for example, where people can no longer afford their Oxy and then switch to heroin or fentanyl. None of this makes sense anymore, and I’m finding myself more and more baffled by the world every day. Okay, I’m going to cut this short now, otherwise it’ll turn into another long text—just one more thing.... Yeah, absolutely—now the best time of year is starting: gardening/outdoors. Are you going to grow them indoors first or plant the seeds directly into the ground?
India_Calcoen
India_Calcoen commented3mo ago
@Kushycat, I watched “Dopesick” the show about the opioid crisis in the United States and it really shocked me that it is only about money, just like you wrote. They don’t care about people, about patients. I’m happy we can be independent with our medicinal plants and we don’t need to support this system. I’m growing them indoors for a bit first. We have these terror slugs in our garden. They could eat my entire plant in one night 😱

Kushycat
Kushycat commentedweek 163mo ago
That's amazing! The fade-out looks really nice. It's textbook perfect, and I have to admit I'm seriously jealous. Haha, but it's all good—you totally deserve it. What I don't get is why your diaries aren't getting more attention. But enough with the flattery. I'm curious to see what the final weight will be with all the diaries combined. Unfortunately, we have the 50-gram dry weight per person rule here in Germany... Partial legalization is really well-intentioned but so poorly implemented.
India_Calcoen
India_Calcoen commented3mo ago
@Kushycat, thank you for your kind words. 🙏 I think the situation is not that bad in Germany. You should hide most of your stash in secret places and keep the maximum of 50 grams in your cupboard 😉 We don’t have legalization here in the Netherlands. If the Police would come, they could take all my plants and my harvest away. When growing up to 5 plants outside you won’t be persecuted. When you grow inside it gets blurry. They could say you’re a professional grower because you use lights and fertiliser and persecute you, even if you have less than five plants 😐 Our cannabis laws are 50 years old and really need an update 😉
Kushycat
Kushycat commented3mo ago
@India_Calcoen, Hmm, okay, I had no idea that you’re only allowed to use it outdoors and that you can still run into problems if certain people come to visit. They’re about to tighten things up here again, since access to medical cannabis via telemedicine and with a prescription is becoming more difficult. Then, for many, the only options left are the CSS, which are often overpriced, or the black market again. Not everyone wants to or can run a grow tent. I hope they’ll revise the rules for you and don’t completely turn back the clock here. Maybe they’ll do it better in the Czech Republic, and we’ll all benefit from it.

@India_Calcoen, It's snowing outside, so I think you still have enough time. 🤣

Goodness, they're falling off the vine like ripe apples! You've got some beautiful tomatoes already—I really need to get started too...

@Kushycat, I harvested Panama Red yesterday. Now the waiting and drying begins… It’s fun to start sowing for the vegetable garden! I love how fast tomatoes grow ❤️ This year I’m trying to grow cucumbers and melons and to graft (okulieren) them. Fun to try something new 🌱🌱🌱 Do you have sowing plans for vegetables?
