Transplanted into 5gal fabric pots with more promix HP as the medium. Losing some LST capabilities until I get a pack of folder clips for the sides, only had a few hanging around the house for now. Pleased with the new height and got Danny DeVito's little runt canopy closer to his bigger stud twin, Arnold, for the eventual SCROG. Arny had solid root system that held the whole 3gal together when moving into the new pot where Danny's roots had not fully spread to the 3 gallon, making the transfer a bit messier. Will need to water accordingly.
Arnold is up to like 18-20 growth sites and Danny is sitting around half that so I have a good base to spread from when the screen makes its way into my tent. Might wait a week or two just to let them recover from transplant and get them growing both vertically again.
Still running 18/6 light schedule since switch to 900W, basic Tap Water feedings with small amounts of 15-5-5 when they seem hungry, staying the course for now.
No signs of mites but will spray again tomorrow to stay on top of any eggs or newbies. Diatomaceous Earth has been around the base of the plants the whole time.
UPDATE 1: Another tent disinfection and sprayed both top and bottom with SAFERS End All again, no real signs of mites since last spray but sticking with the recommendations of re-spray. Every piece of dust of promix spec on the leaves are bringing out the paranoia in me so I'll probably keep spraying them every couple weeks even if I see nothing until the flower flip.
Thinking end of June for the flip but temp control might be hard in my space for a July/Aug flower. Playing by ear.
UPDATE 2: First real water since transplant a couple days ago. Burning/browning on leaf tips of both plants. Larger Arnold is not too bad but Runt Danny has it all over and on new growth. Transplant shock? PH? Nute Burn? No spotting on other parts of the leaves, just tips.
Let me know if you've seen it before! Thanks
Nice to see another Chocolate Mint OG diary up and running on the grow diary platform:+1:
Your at week 7 of growth and looking in decent shape, my main advice would be to monitor your ec/ppm and ph levels as it does look like a touch of over feeding. Nothing major and very easily a salt build up which can be resolved with a good plan water flush over a week period :+1:
Are you measuring your ppm/ec values of your nutrient feed?
Are you measuring your ppm/ec values of your run-off
What is your ph?
We will keep dropping in as you update mate :+1:
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, On an average CMOG stretch is very manageable and around 1.5x :+1:
So if you flipped at say 50cm the end height will be close to 125cm :facepunch:
Nice bit of defoliation work and with an added 2.5 weeks of veg plenty of time to fill that screen out :ok_hand:
Looking good from here my friend:+1:
With love from Humboldt County:v:
Kind regards
Mark..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation,
Thanks for checking in and the info!
Queue the obvious "Duh" but no, I haven't been monitoring PH or PPM/EC. The plants were dropped in my lap and I had to rush the grow set up around them instead of the other way around so I'm still missing some key pieces. Just been using ProMix HP and Tap Water other than the small amount of Blood Meal I put in the first 3gal pot and small feedings (Now realizing I didn't need to start adding to the water yet)
Have had my eyes on PH strips and Up/Down kits and will definitely get that sorted in the next couple weeks leading to flip. Going to keep to Tap Water for now and start adding molasses instead of plant food in a couple weeks.
How much stretch am I expecting with the 20% Sativa influence? I'm thinking getting them in a SCROG and going for a July 1st flip, should I add a couple weeks to veg to fill the screen if there is not a significant stretch? My goal is 3 oz per plant but I may be battling some heat/humidity in the middle of summer.
You can get rid of them and still be able to make healthy clones not sure if the safers you have does eggs as well but there is another safers in a white bottle that’s a bit different and maybe find something else from another company. Mites are known to become immune to the same treatments so best to try different products the when you get population low enough you can squish stragglers you see and remove leaves with eggs. I did that with a clone and it worked out bug free all the way through. Even a home made mix of odourless soap and water would help for a cycle just no detergent and scents.
@Lionsshare, Thanks! been thinking of going up to Neem Oil for the last few treatments before flower but I'll see how she goes. Whole point of growing is to cut down on money spent on bud in the long run so I might do a few autos just to bolster the stash then get back to photos.
Thanks for the input! Keep an eye
Looking good here with awesome strain! Good luck with rest of your grow :facepunch::+1:
@LongJohn420, Thanks! Yeah the food I have isn't cannabis tailored, 15-5-5 so I've only been using 1-3 drops per 2L+
Definitely going with a super soil grow next so I don't have to add much until the end.
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, it looks like nute burn. Looks "crisp" like that.. But good looking plants you got, gonna be good bud :yum:
@LongJohn420, Thanks! Your CMOG diary has been in my daily viewing since I started on this site comparing to other CMOG grows, if mine turns out anywhere close to what yours looked like I think I'll be happy. :raised_hands:
Just uploaded some new pics with leaf tip burning on my small guy, did you see anything like it/know what it was with your CMOG?
Hey looks good try to ween off the safers once you get a week or 2 into flower I used some on like week 4-5 once and it destroyed all the hairs took 2 weeks to grow back slowed down my flowering dramatically. Do you give them a shower about 30 mins after you spray with safers? Continue with keeping your tent clean especially in the corners under the plastic frame if you can and the pots under the rim. I had them bad my last grow and that stuff seemed to eradicate my problem for my newest grow just be careful during flowering that stuff isn’t nice to the buds. Good luck.
@Lionsshare, yeah basically going to keep spraying every couple weeks now until the buds start coming in then hope it's good enough to last. No I haven't been rinsing them after sprays, figured its still early in veg and not planning to flower for a few weeks/month.
I REALLY wanted to take some clones for my next grow but mites nixed that so I'll just have to grab some CMOG seeds to start my own and really control it if I ever get to the point of keeping Mothers. These were a random opportunity through a former co-worker and rushed my set up around the grow, can't wait until I can control all steps so I don't have to get Cory and Trevor to collect Ladybugs for me.
Burnt tips is a classic over feeding symptom
@Athos, thanks! The ProMix HP is weird in terms of info on feeding/PH research, I'm thinking there's just some left over salt in the roots and I can't fully water the new pots yet to get it all away.
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, give them plain pH'ed water, nothing else. See how the leaves are dark green? That's not healthy, the leaves should be light green, when they turn dark it means an overdose of Nitrogen. That media is based on peat, it has some nutrients already, let that feed the plant, when the plant exhaust the soil (you will know because the bottom leaves will show some deficiencies). Then start feeding. You might want to get an EC / PPM meter, it will help with feeding. Hope that helps
@Athos, how about telling me HOW to accomplish something? I asked for help not comments I can find on google.
