Got two Chocolate Mint OG .. clones..? or Mothers? I don't know or remember what I heard, through a friend of a co-worker, came to me about 2-3 weeks into growth in a red solo cup. You know what I'm talking about, you've seen movies. Been gathering Space Bucket grow materials for about a year but ended up with more space/resources to put into it and went with a tent grow. Used the cheap 45W Full Spectrum LED for 24-0 in the first week hanging from a MacGyver'd shoe bench stand on a table top. Visited local hydro shop and got a 2X4X7 tent, couple starting pots, and a bag of Promix HP. Set up the tent and transplanted by the end of week 3.5ish with some hard topping and F.I.M right away. Figured the photoperiod would give me a bit more time to wait for the bounce back. No food or specific watering schedule as of yet, just when needed. *Have no background info on how plants were raised or treated before I got them, timeline is murky*

*Sorry for the lack of pictures, I started taking these and tracking before I knew about this site, should get better as weeks go* Realizing that Promix HP has to be fed a lot as this beginner goes along, I grabbed some Blood Meal 12-0-0 and mixed 1 tsp in with the top half of my pots and used low levels of regular store bought 15-5-5 plant food in with the water every other time. Obviously went high on the N but nothing more than some yellowed tips as I dial in how to use the food I have for now. More Topping on the Danny DeVito runt and another Top for the stud plant Mr. Arnold while starting to LST, ultimately going for a SCROG so my plan from early on was to bush them out (A reason I wanted by first grow to be an Indica dom) This is also right before I started noticing the signs of mites. The place my clones came from was apparently a full grow-op so some pinchy little bastards must have hitched a ride...

New 900W light to bump up hard from the 45W placeholder I had. Been tying down plants to the edge of the plastic pout by poking holes and using twine. Working great in place of sticks/steaks for now and allows me to place my branches in a great 360 bush shape while starting the horizontal pre-train for SCROG. Slight Nute burn across both, nothing major or increased from the week before, Food used at beginning of week but flushed using just Tap Water end of week The mites were ready to make their appearance though...

The heavy N with my food and slight nute burn made me miss the mites that were ACTUALLY causing the spots, so I went into full time panic mode and made a quick stop at Crappy Tire for war supplies. Knowing these came from another grower, all those "Borg Two-Dots" articles are scaring the poop out of this first timer but I just need to keep them at bay over and over until I can get this to harvest. Using: SAFER'S END ALL Diatomaceous Earth on Soil Disinfection of Tent Surfaces with Bleach Water. Heavy wet spray of SAFERS on both plants and soil. D. Earth covering soil. Reapply in a few days. Other than that, grow is smooth just reteaching me the meaning of patience. Big Arnold twin is drinking water fast and giving me hella tops with my LST'ing, Runt Danny drinks slow and will sometimes be skipped to allow promix to dry more.

SAFERS End All Spray and diatomaceous earth did the trick for now, will respray by end the week. Shade and mature leaves were trimmed to keep the centre of the plant clear for mite control. Take some time everyday to readjust and tighten LST lines. This is keeping Big Arnold in check as I get the growth going horizontally so Runt Danny DeVito can make up some vertical height by doing a softer LST. Need to get them at a similar height before I drop a screen in and push them for flower. UPDATE: Re-Sprayed and D-Earthed the soil again, will go for another spray after transfer to 5g Fabric Pots next week. Finally starting to notice the growth at this point, always hard to notice any changes when you stare at it every day. REALLY starting to spread out, my girls are Bush'in so hard they're going to declare another unfounded war on Iraq.

Transplanted into 5gal fabric pots with more promix HP as the medium. Losing some LST capabilities until I get a pack of folder clips for the sides, only had a few hanging around the house for now. Pleased with the new height and got Danny DeVito's little runt canopy closer to his bigger stud twin, Arnold, for the eventual SCROG. Arny had solid root system that held the whole 3gal together when moving into the new pot where Danny's roots had not fully spread to the 3 gallon, making the transfer a bit messier. Will need to water accordingly. Arnold is up to like 18-20 growth sites and Danny is sitting around half that so I have a good base to spread from when the screen makes its way into my tent. Might wait a week or two just to let them recover from transplant and get them growing both vertically again. Still running 18/6 light schedule since switch to 900W, basic Tap Water feedings with small amounts of 15-5-5 when they seem hungry, staying the course for now. No signs of mites but will spray again tomorrow to stay on top of any eggs or newbies. Diatomaceous Earth has been around the base of the plants the whole time. UPDATE 1: Another tent disinfection and sprayed both top and bottom with SAFERS End All again, no real signs of mites since last spray but sticking with the recommendations of re-spray. Every piece of dust of promix spec on the leaves are bringing out the paranoia in me so I'll probably keep spraying them every couple weeks even if I see nothing until the flower flip. Thinking end of June for the flip but temp control might be hard in my space for a July/Aug flower. Playing by ear. UPDATE 2: First real water since transplant a couple days ago. Burning/browning on leaf tips of both plants. Larger Arnold is not too bad but Runt Danny has it all over and on new growth. Transplant shock? PH? Nute Burn? No spotting on other parts of the leaves, just tips. Let me know if you've seen it before! Thanks

*Some pictures in week 8 gallery of Leaf Tip burning on my CMOG for reference* Can anyone tell me what the problem may be? Nute burn? PH? Just transplanted up to a 5 gal pot, shock? Plant seems fine other wise. No marks or spots on any other part of the leaves.

Starting with an early Sunday post to start this week, I have a championship parade to go to tomorrow and I will be away from the site 😏 🙌#6ixInSix 🙌 Light schedule has been all over the place last few days but still 18-20 hrs a day. Still manually turning them on and off so I've been tweaking the times to my liking. Will get a timer in the next couple weeks before the flower flip. They were really bushing up with no LST ties after the pot transplant so I finally went MacGyver on the LST, spent an hour or so doing defoliation/tie downs with twine and paper clips on the edge of the fabric pot. Keeping the canopies as spread as possible so the transfer to the eventual SCROG is easy and maximize the head numbers early. Very pleased with the results and enjoy the time spent pruning and shaping the plants 🙏 Big Arnold seems to have taken to the new pot fully and is drinking up the small feedings in a day. Small Danny DeVito is still taking a while but has always been behind his perfect twin, Arnold. Only feeding straight cold Tap Water, still washing away the nute burn. Will do a full flush later this week once they dry from todays watering. UPDATE: Wednesday Finally gave the twins a full flush/watering. Was waiting a week after transplant until I gave them a full pot water to let them settle in. Big Arnold seems like he's spread his roots already from how the promix held together during the flush but Runt Danny DeVito still seems to have a smaller root system. One and only con of the fabric pots I've found in my personal experience so far is the amount of time it take to drain the excess run off compared to larger holes in hard pots. Caved and bought the Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect 3 bottle kit, should come Thursday and will start with small feedings after they dry out from the recent tap water flush. UPDATE: Thursday Made my SCROG, Basic PVC with my own twine weaved net, I wanted an actual grow net but will go for it next time since everything at the regular garden stores were too big or small. The frame breaks down for easy storage. The Advanced Nutrient 3-in-1 Micro-Grow-Bloom kit arrived as well but the Bloom seal was broken and leaking :( No major quantity loss, just annoying for storage. The bottles were package ON THEIR SIDE in a box and hardly wrapped, but more of an Amazon issue than Advanced Nutes. Will start adding with next feeding in a day or so.

Finally getting the Advanced Nutes going as the twins start to spread into the SCROG. Really hate the terrible twine net I made but it will do the trick for this grow. Starting CRAZY light on the nutes since the burning from the earlier food, .5ml of each in 2 l of cold water then another litre of plain tap water after. They were starting to looks hungry so I let them dry out from the last flush. Have to keep a close eye to see if the PH perfect starts to affect the plant, I've never measured or tested PH or PPM throughout, need to get a kit and a timer this week so i can flip to flower end of this week or next. Will update with pictures/more info as the week goes on. UPDATE: Looks good in terms of reaction to the nutes after 24hr. Major defoliation to stop bunching up and let light through the net. Runt Danny DeVito is a little droopy but just because I fed them the same 3L and that terrible twin drinks a little slower than Arnold. Next day Arnold is almost ready for another water where the top layer is still damp on Runt Danny, basically have to stagger feedings between the two whenever they're ready. 6/28: I don't know if it's a placebo effect on my part but the addition of Advanced Nutes PH Perfect M-G-B system has sent the twins into over drive. Runt Danny DeVito just looks like a regular plant and Arnold is just an absolute beast. Like Predator-era Arnold. I've also decided instead of flipping at start of July I'm going to VEG 2 1/2 MORE WEEKS until Mid-July to help deal with the heatwave. I'll be away on vacation for a few days mid-July and know this strain can be hermy sensitive to flower/light changes so I want to make sure I'm around to fully monitor the environment. I'll probably leave them in the dark during the vacation to get them ready for the 12/12 flip. Also lets me get my duct fan/filter set up properly since I haven't gotten them yet. These are going to be absolute monsters.

July 2nd. Chugging along. Seems to be some SLIGHT ph spotting on a couple fan leaves, suspect the levels changing when the PH Perfect M-G-B feedings dry out. Other than that, the food is insane. That with allowing my dark periods to end with the natural sunrise (window) in the morning is producing NOTICEABLE growth. Literally said the words: "Holy shit, I'm pretty sure these grew MULTIPLE inches today" and I wasn't referring to anything dirty. Thought a bug had got in due to holes in leaves and weird "eat ins" from side of leaf but turns out it just the terrible twine netting cutting the fans if they grow against or rub. Just been super careful with the placements, adjusting daily, and keeping important leaves off the twine. 7/6 Update: Watered/Fed big Arnold again on 7/4 but left Runt Danny to dry out more but will get fed today. Readjusting and moving the heads through/with the screen every day. Lots of Defol. The amount of heads on Arnold (Right) is almost overwhelming and Danny DeVito (Left) seems like the smaller, bushier pheno with crazy close nodes and different fan leaf growth pattern.

7/9: The Twins are growing well. Runt Danny is just a regular plant now but still a runt compared to the perfect twin Arnold on the right. Still waiting until 3rd week of July to flip to flower so my upcoming trip doesn't interfere with watching over it or coming back to a timer malfunction etc. Still going light on the Advanced Nutes. All new growth since the switch to the PH Perfect system is burn free compared to the old. Only problem is still a bit of PH flux when the pots dry out between feedings but it's only spotting on 1-2 leaves per plant, overall they seem to be getting used to it now. Another reason why I postponed the flip to flower. I'm a bit on the nervous side but very excited for flip just for the sheer stretch and size these things are supposed to get. 👆

Got back from 4 day vacation and the twins we're fine enough. Left them with window light, new growth VERY light in colour and did not drink as much of the feeding I gave them before I left. Little overwatered and overgrown but a day under the lights and a major defol job got them back on track. Started stripping the stems below the net as a pre-emptive lollypop. Will go full pop after the flower stretch is over. Getting ready for flower flip next week or so now that I'm back with full attention. Thanks for stopping in, always open to tips/tricks/comments!

Definitely over fed my smaller plant Danny DeVito before I left for vacation last week. My searching has shown the leaf curl is probably salt build up and classic tip burn. This strain or these particular clones I got are super sensitive to feeding since it was 1/ml of Grow, Bloom, Micro across 5L of water. Only showing in a few mature fan leaves so I gave a nice big flush of straight h2o and it's not spreading across the plant. Regarding the flowering flip: HEAT WAVE. Last 2 weeks have been a humid hell. Still haven't been able to get the duct fan to set up a proper vent for blackout in my tent and the room my tent is in sits around 28C. Fan wouldn't do much anyways so I'm going to have to wait until the heat breaks. Will update later in week.

Finally flipped and HOLY MOLY is it awesome to start seeing the flowers coming in for the first time on your first grow. Super delayed flip to flower and I am manually switching the lights/opening tent every day due to prioritized spending. BIG HUMIDITY PROBLEM. As I have still not hooked up an outtake fan for the tent I don't see my girls surviving past the next couple weeks so hopefully I can get that figured out. I'll open it up to 95% RH by morning and it sits around 60% even with an open tent. Other than that, I'm happy with the bud sites gained from my first ever grow. Just feeling my way through Topping, Fim, SCROG, and LST was fun a rewarding for sure. Just have to make sure they reach the finish line. TUES: Cleaned tent floor and walls with disinfectant wipes, seemed to get rid of the smell so far. Still worried about the humidity in the closed tent during the dark period. Need a duct fan hardcore before the buds start coming in. The first sight of trichs already sent me into a Powdery Mildew panic. 😱 THURS: Humidity break. Down in the 45% range and have been able to keep it in the 80s with a huge bowl of dried pasta in the tent lmao no coffee whitener or rice on hand 😒 Defoliation of light blockers and bunch ups to improve the airflow in the canopy. I'm hoping the UV lights in my LED set up are enough to keep mildew at bay and can get the dark period RH% down before buds fatten and there is risk for rot.

How do you save/deal with a plant going Hermie? Week 1/2 Pistils going brown, on research its pollination and I've cut all stems with browned pistils and small sacs formed. Only one plant for now but small tent. 😠😰

If you actually saw bananas/pollen sacks then you can try to pluck them out before they burst. If you can keep on top of it and manage to get all of them you should have a good normal harvest with maybe a few seeds. With other plants in there, I would honestly try to remove it and not risk pollinating the others. If some of the sacks have burst then it is very likely the other plants have already been pollinated especially if you have good airflow. If that has indeed happened just grow em out and deal with the seeds. A seedy harvest is better than no harvest. It may also not be a hermie. Pistils can go orange and recede for a number of reasons(dust, Too intense of light, drying out, genetics, etc). So if you absolutely don't see any male parts at all then it is likely not a hermie.

FINALLY BOUGHT AN OUTTAKE FAN! The cheapest 4-inch I could afford right now to try and salvage the plants before the buds start coming in and get moldy. Will be delivered tomorrow so only one more dark period with 90% humidity. Hopefully the first week of High RH nights don't cost me the whole thing. The bud sites are either on a very early Myrcene/Musk smell before they skunk up or I already have some mildew problems. Keeping a close eye and setting up the fan tomorrow, ducting comes a few days after. No scrubber/filter yet. Thanks for stopping in and will be updating when the fan is in tomorrow! WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Hooked up Exhaust Fan last night in a race against the 12HR clock due to late delivery. Looks terrible but solid rattle free mount with the softwire and an extra strap locked in for back support. No ducting yet, same order but will be delivered tomorrow so I can get a proper out to my window. Brought the RH to 70% with closed tent compared to the high 90s they were dealing with before. Didn't have time to figure out or mock a passive intake light trap so there was hard negative pressure with the tiny holes I left open. Hopefully a better intake will keep the RH down even more. Still tinkering but running out of time. Positive note, the musty mildew smell on the plant and bud sites themselves is gone after one night with exhaust fan. 👍 Also grabbed some non-preservative/unsulfured molasses to start adding. Gave both 1TSP/Gallon and finished with an extra litre of tap water on top. They seem to need a lot more food but the mineral MGB food burns too much and lasts too little.

Chugging along nicely. Lots of trichs in the early weeks so I can only imagine how frosty they're going to get in the last month. The twins seem super hungry. Little Danny on the left seems a bit less needy and Big Arnold on the right is way more spread in the bud sites. Arnold needs more food to keep the bottom leaves a healthy green. Started skipping plain water and started adding Molasses/Water between the PH Perfect MGB feedings. I have 4 different homemade blackout passive intakes but the negative pressure is still hardcore. Have the ducting out to the window now but will need an intake fan set up or better passive intake material than layers of cut black t-shirt 😂 9/19 UPDATE: Big Arnold still needs a bit of N to get back healthy but I've been feeding it it as fast as the promix dries. Should be back to normal by end of week. Little Danny is fine as well with bigger more traditional colas compared to the small spread out bud sites of Big Arnold. LOTS of fattening in the buds and more pistils are brown/orange'ing up but I'm thinking most is from accidental touching during constant defol. Very exciting time as a first timer! I know CMOG has a quick flower but it almost seems like I'm a full week ahead of schedule the way the plants have stopped stretch and buds are pretty fat for Week 3. Giving another PH Perfect feeding today 👍 Thanks for stopping by!

MY WEED LOOKS LIKE WEED! It's sticky to the touch. My fingers smell like chocolate and mint and dankness after defol. The trichs are absolutely insane and the flowers are now legit buds. 😍 I know everyone that's done this before is like "... yeah that's how it works." but as this is my first time .. you know.. *fart noise* 👆 Jog on. Having a random fall heat wave this weekend but humidity is steady around 45% during lights and no more than 60% in closed tent with new outtake fan. Staying heavy on the defol to keep problem spots like leaf overlaps and light blockers at bay since the RH is still a few points above where I want it. I've also found that 16 Hour dark periods, in my personal observation with no other experience, seems to have a positive effect on the plants. A few times this week I've had plans at night and had to dark tent it early since I still don't have a timer. It's almost like my plants are fast forwarding through flower with crazy trich and full buds by start of Week 4. Little Danny on the left is way more of a classic structure with 9 long main colas along the outside and smaller sites through the middle. Big Arnold is a super stretched out net weaved nightmare of single bud sites with a 4-5 traditional colas but most of the flowers are very spread along the net, I definitely experimented more with LST on Arnold. I remember looking at them both when I got them and said "I bet little Danny will end up with a higher yield" and if those colas go Superfudge Judy Bloom on me, it just might. Super excited and thanks for stopping by! Will be updating with the mid-week feed ✊ MID-WEEK UPDATE Gave the twins another PH Perfect feeding today with a water chase. The starting to notice the smell in the room and are they ever sticky 😍 Thinking about Backbuilding/Bud Topping, does anyone have any experience with it? Seems like a tried and true method to get a better looking bud. I'd love to experiment and do some side-by-sides for future reference. Also been looking into my next grow, going to try some @Fast_Buds Autos and probably order through UpperCanadaSB, will take any advice on that as well! Thanks for stopping by. Unless anything changes my next update will be week 5 👍

MY WEED SMELLS LIKE WEED. Filling the room, creeping through the apt, what a glorious time. No major smell worries where I am so I'm just enjoying the atmosphere. 😍 On to Backbuilding/Bud Tipping. (Shoot me any advice on this down below!) I experimented back mid-week with 3 tipped buds that had similar control buds side-by-side. After 4 days there is a noticeable difference in density and bud structure in the 3 tipped buds compared to the very fluffy and softer buds next to them. No overall size difference but the tipped buds are rock hard and filling in gaps down the cola compared to the untipped buds. A light squeeze on both a tipped bud and untipped will tell you the difference right there. Happy with the results after seeing them for myself and lucky enough to find this technique at the end of week 4, I tipped majority of the main colas on Danny and some larger buds on Arnold today. Which means I also get what OG growers call a "First Taste" once my tips dry out and cure for a few days. 😛 Other than tipping, I've just had to keep up with Arnold's feedings since lower leaves are still fading if I skip mineral nute feedings. Looks like they will be getting only PH Perfect and/or Molasses feedings until the final flush since they can't get enough food in the ProMix medium. I've still had constant defoliation during to avoid leaf overlap and light blockage. Since I'm now entering week 5 of flower I'll have to get it where I want in the next couple days and go hands off for the last month or so. Thanks for checking out my grow! Follow along as we're getting to the good part and I'll update again this week once the tipping sets in 💪 MID-WEEK UPDATE: Random Heat/Humidity wave in Southern Ontario so I'm keeping a close eye on the buds after dark periods. Keeping air moving well so far so hopefully I can avoid mold/mildew in last few weeks. Twins are looking good. Arnold still super hungry so I've upped the nutes a tad and skipped plain water feeding until the flush. Just fed them PH Perfect/Molasses cocktail. Big Arnold on the right is definitely rootbound by how the water is draining so I'm looking at a lower yield from the right plant. I get run off from small Danny during a regular feed but takes a lot more to get any from Arnold and I don't want to overwater in this random heat/humidity wave. The Backbuilding/BudTipping is working like a charm. The tipped buds are filling down and way more dense than the untipped. Popped the SoundLink in the tent today to give the twins some music while I go about my business. PLANT PLAYLIST: Vulfpeck - Mr Finish Line Anderson Paak - Ventura Prince - Purple Rain Remastered Unless anything crazy happens I'll update at start of week 6 flower. Hi @GlazedGrow! About the last weeks: the flush period is determined by the trichome's evolution, it can last for 7 days, 14 days, or even more. Take a daily closeup look at the trichomes, and start to flush when at least half of the trichomes have turned from transparent/thin to milky/fat. Once you'll get almost only milky trichomes, the harvest window is open! For an energetic high, harvest before the first amber trichomes appear. For a couch-locking high, you better cut it down once 20-30% of the trichomes have turned amber/red, you'll get more CBN/CBD but less THC. About the drying: hanging the stems upside down in your grow tent can be a perfect drying process! But you need to control your RH (~50%) and have a continuous temp (20-22°C / 68-72°F). Harvest before the light turns on, for maximum potency & terpenes. Terpenes and THC are degraded by light and heat during the daytime. Keep your trim wastes to make some canna-butter or bubble hash. Also when trimming, take a break every 10 minutes to remove the glue/hash/stigmas from your scissors, this will be your first joint, you can smoke it while trimming! Depending on your environment and weather conditions you might need to increase or decrease the relative humidity, you can use a mister (to increase) or a dehumidifier (to decrease), be warned that a good dehumidifier is quite expensive. About the curing: jars are the best way to cure, but don't forget to hide them in the dark, once again light will damage your product. Be very careful about your drying process, check your buds everyday and don't rush it or you will ruin your final product. Too-long drying on the other hand can lead to mold/bud-rot issues, this is why a daily inspection is more than required. Once buds seem dry, put everything in jars for the curing process (grandma's glass jars are perfect), keep on watching the buds frequently, mold can corrupt and destroy your product very quickly, you just need to open the jars 5mins everyday and move the buds for a close inspection + air freshening. Finally, act as a cooker with its fresh products : try a bit of your product whenever you think it's ready, your smoker's skills will help in setting up the perfect curing process! Hope these advices will help you, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information, and happy growing! 👊

MID-WEEK UPDATE: Gave the twins their second last feeding today. A few nights of 14-16 Hour Dark periods as well due to plans/not having timers but as I said before I think the longer Dark periods have really sped up the flower development. PURPLE IS STARTING! Some very nice purple is starting to come into the cals and sugar leaves 😈 Going to push some lower temps in week 8 to get as much colour out of them as possible. Arnold still heavy fan leaf fading. Ran straight water through the medium before todays feeding incase any build up nute locked it. Never fully bounced back from the last feed but also getting near the end. I have a feeling I'll pull Arnold first in week 8 then maybe let Danny go for a more couch lock. Danny: GRAPE SMELL. Holy, I don't know if it's more of a Grand Daddy Purp pheno or what but holy is the grape smell off of Danny insane. Almost like a different strain compared to the smells off Arnold. WEEK 6! HOME STRETCH OF GLAZED GROW #1! The smell is insane. What started as a premature musk has slowly evolved into sticky ass chocolate goodness, fresh mint/herb, and even some grape/fresh fruit smell on the fingers after defol and mold checks. Noticing a hint of that GASSS too as we start to enter the final ripen. This will also mark the final week of Nute feeding. Fed today and probably two more Weds/Sun. Then will switch to Molasses/Water for Week 7 and plain water for first half of Week 8 before the dry out. As you can see, Big Arnold is showing cal/mag and PH problems. Always bounces back after PH perfect feedings and I've been defoliating the faders as we go to save bud energy. It's been rootbound since mid-flower and I'm sure the whole root zone is a mess. The extra work I've had to put into a soilless peat-based medium like ProMix with a photoperiod plant has been great practice and experience but I'm looking forward to a few round of autoflowers and soil grows to dial back the difficulty settings through the winter months. Broke out the good camera for some shots since we're getting to the good stuff 😎 - Canon EOS 760d - 75-300mm - 50mm Have the twins hanging out with the SoundLink again for those good vibrations 👊 PLANT PLAYLIST: Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly Sublime - Sublime Shad - TSOL

UPDATED WEEK 7. 10/13: I've started an instagram like everybody else, hit up @GlazedGrow for follow backs and more content! Fabric pots still wet from Thursdays PH Perfect/Molasses feed so I will not feed again today and start with the Molasses/Water Flush for Week 7 then start plain water. This marks the end of the Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect feedings but I have been pleased with the product itself. Took a while to dial back the right numbers to not overfeed my CMOG but more on my very sensitive plants/medium I chose. Still lots of little purple hints coming into the buds and sugar leaves but nothing yet on fan leaves. From what I've seen the major colour changes for CMOG happen in the final 2 weeks and I've been keeping my window open in the tent room so the temperature is in the low 20C's during light and creeping down around 17-18C in the dark. Hopefully I see some of that beautiful purple/chocolate brown I've seen in the other dairies here 🙌 BOSExGlazedGrow getting the twins some music again today. PLANT PLAYLIST: Justice - A Cross The Universe Live Album Queen - Absolute Weezer - Weezer Super excited at this point and starting to think about trimming, drying, hash making, and curing! Feel free to drop any tips down below. Also confirmed that I have some @Fast_Buds seeds coming my way to test out/show off so I am excited to get my first grow down and start with the next! I'll take any tips on auto growing/Fast Buds below as well! UPDATE 10/17: Flush has begun. First run through of Molasses and Water until run off was on Tuesday. Will get another one tomorrow and perhaps ONE more on Sunday if the promix has dried enough. Got that chilly fall air blowing through the window non-stop so hopefully the lower temps will trigger more colours in the last week. LOTS of little purple hints throughout the buds. The Green, Purple, and Orange is going to look mighty pretty when all is said and done. The smell is terrific and fills the room/apartment when I keep my tent open to get that cold air and I love it so much. Just have to keep a close eye for any rot/mold/mildew in the last week and a half. BOSExGLAZEDGROW Had the ladies listening to more this week hoping PHAT beats help with FAT buds. FINAL WEEK OF MY FIRST GROW!😍 No jeweller's loop yet so I started with that Cozy app then decided to bust out the telephoto lens for a test. Will get better ones later but had to put them in the dark for the night. Thought I saw touches of amber last week with the naked eye, surprised to have as much amber in the trichs as I do. I always felt these we're flowering crazy fast and feel like I could harvest literally any time now. Might not wait the full week and give it one more straight water flush and a bit more darkness then cut them a few days earlier than expected! Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think, I don't want to over-ripen but I could also be way over-anxious and excited. Definitely don't think they've flushed/used enough nutes yet though. Will update soon and thanks for checking it out!🙌

Week 25. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Final buds a lot smaller than expected from what they were wet but I'm sure that's more rookie mistakes on my part. First Smoke Review (Basically dry, uncured) First trimmed buds are almost dry coming up on day 5. Pulled a sample branch. Very snowy, heavy floral/herbal smell and taste with the hint of mint/sweet diesel. Not as harsh as I thought, decently smooth in the simple beaker bong. Energetic head high with a slight bit of that premature cured head pressure. Starting to hit me with that real nice over-the-top "so high I feel it in my eyes" though, that "behind the face" high.. 👹 Second Smoke Review (Dried, cured for 1 week) Fruity Gas smell is starting to ripen in the cure jars. Very "old school" style buds in the hands of a first timer, frosty with orange hairs and hints of purple. Nugs bust up into more than you'd think with VERY STRONG high, nice relaxing and mellow with a slight euphoria to start that settles into a slow/sleepy indica with all-day use. Easy to fight through for day time, easy to give into when choring is done. Tastes like a minty sweet gas, slight kushy bitterness with sweet candy finish. Can see where it's going to be in a few weeks. FINAL TASTE: Cured just over 2 weeks Great sweet/fruity taste with the minty/flowery element morphed into a bitter gassy after-taste. Great stoney high that clouds up the head unless you fight through it. Can be used for day smoking in small amounts and great for nighttime couch-surfing.

THANK YOU FOR 3RD PLACE IN THE NEWBIE OF THE MONTH OCTOBER 2019! HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO LIKED, COMMENTED, HELPED, ANSWERED, AND LISTENED! Very excited to apply all the knowledge and keep learning more! Big ups to @Humboldt_Seed_Organisation for the great genetics and hopefully I can get back to them again in the future🙌 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a first grow goes, it was nothing but learning experiences! Got these two mismatched twins as clones so naturally I named the big one "Arnold" and the runt "Danny DeVito" in honour of the movie Twins (1988) which in hindsight deserves no actual honours. I followed some helpful advice from people here on the site and snipped my two girls down on 10/22 at 6PM after keeping them in the dark for most of the last 2 days. I would have liked to flush more but the Trichs snuck up on me and the first time checking them, I saw I already had more than enough amber for my liking and desired effect. I am very excited to start trimming after a half day or so of drying and will update ASAP with weights (Don't want to weight the whole plants, more misleading than Wet Bud weight😂) Very herbal/flower taste to the uncured bud but there are notes of potential bitter/gas Updated my first smoke above in the Strain Rating! Very nice "behind the face" high. Jars are filled and hanging in the dark, getting burped once a day/when I grab some to grind up 😃 Final numbers fall a bit short of my 2 OZ expectations. Learned a lot and can't wait until I get to improve on what I've done here! Goals for next grow will be to be more patient with major decisions such as chopping 1/4th of my plant when I thought it could have hermied, but ended up fine. Learning to not overdo LST techniques the way I over scrog'd/rootbound one during flower stretch and keeping buds nice and fat through the drying process. I feel I let them dry a bit fast in a high 30's/low 40's RH tent. Takes up the space of two ounces but the very frosty buds are light and airy other than the top of the big colas that I backbuilt. Overall great learning experience and enough supplies to start my next grow once my seeds generously supplied by fast buds arrive! I will be changing from ProMix HP to a soil medium to allow for more natural feeding. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who looked, liked, and left their wisdom on this diary! Can't wait for the next GlazedGrow! P.S. Made slow cooker cannabis vegetable oil with my trim and full batch of Chocolate Mint OG Chocolate Cupcakes! Experiment with hash making next time!

Another tip I forgot to mention is chop plant right before your lights come on. If possible, do not allow the plants to see direct light as long as their roots are attached. Direct light on a plant will draw up stored starches and sugars from the root system.

@OutForReal, @DankGardener, Thanks for the tip! Entering my final week of flush and will definitely be chopping main stem first in the dark!

@DankGardener, @ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, That's pretty what I am doing , I am harvesting around 4:00 am , from what I heard it is because the light is degrading THC so you'r supposed to chop a better product. I also noticed that a weed that was harvest just after the night was smelling a bit more than when I chop during day time.
DankGardener
DankGardenercommented5 years ago
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, yes but I'm not to sure on the 48 hrs of darkness. But all I do is the day of harvest right before my lights come on that day I go in there make sure there's no light in room and do one cut at the base. After that u can turn on lights.

@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, on my last grow. I cheated on flush. Sacrilege! Why don’t you try this on one branch to compare? I soaked buds in water for a day. Then dry and cure as normal. In the jar, smell is crazy strong. But I did fed this plant with a few doses of yogurt. My point is osmosis effect draws out salt nutes from the buds. I soaked one night at 28 degree C and my smell was okay. Mean crazy strong smell. Then I dried at 30 C (my outside temperature) for two days. This is worst case scenario for your information. If you are worry about mold, I did put in a 500 ml bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my soak. Blasphemous - I know.

@Med_in_Tropic, Thanks for the input! Left them in the dark for 20 hours today, will close back up before bed tonight and cut main stems in the morning before light! Worried they aren't flushed out enough but I haven't given them salt nutes for a week and cleared the ProMix twice with Molasses/Water flushes.

To reduce your heat put ur carbon filter up beside your lights it will remove hot air as it’s produced close all other holes and windows and at the very bottom hole put in a duct with a USB fan on the end to draw air in. If your tent is in a closed space fix the duct to very close to the bottom of the door and make sure your carbon filter exhaust is not exhausting into the same room u will just suck the warm air back in. I did this with my setup when it sat between 80-82 on the regular after making changes it is now a consistent 73.4 in my tent at all times when lights are on no air conditioners needed and when humidity got low I put a small bucket of water near intake fan and hung a wet white towel in a corner humidity goes from 40’s to mid 60’s good luck. I’m in Canada too and it’s gotten a lot warmer over past few weeks but my temps stay true I just don’t need any extra steps for humidity now.

@@JP148, it was my first grow with a lot of challenges and learning opportunities, that's for SURE 😵 Photoperiod clones that came with Spider Mites, grew only in soilless ProMixHP so I had to feed a LOT, and definitely rootbound before switch which lead to a small flower stretch. Got to learn a lot with ScrOG though with the extra time so once I nail the timing on stressing my autoflowers to get extra weeks of Veg, I'll get the frame back in my tent 🙌 Thanks for the support ✊

@Cannibalgardens, Very frosty and starting to STANK. I usually keep my tent open during lights so I get to enjoy. 👍 Some of the smaller buds still have that early musty smell which has had me worried about mold/mildew the whole time but keeping a close eye I am okay for now. Even when the buds look too frosty I double check and probably over-handle as a newbie spreading the bud sites and sugar leaves making sure it's shiny and sticky and not white and powder. 😂 Hoping for quality because the extra weeks in veg definitely outgrew the 5Gal pot and I'm pretty sure it stunted my stretch.
Humboldt_Seed_Organisation
Nice to see another Chocolate Mint OG diary up and running on the grow diary platform👍 Your at week 7 of growth and looking in decent shape, my main advice would be to monitor your ec/ppm and ph levels as it does look like a touch of over feeding. Nothing major and very easily a salt build up which can be resolved with a good plan water flush over a week period 👍 Are you measuring your ppm/ec values of your nutrient feed? Are you measuring your ppm/ec values of your run-off What is your ph? We will keep dropping in as you update mate 👍 Kind regards Team-HSO..
Humboldt_Seed_Organisation
Humboldt_Seed_Organisationcommented6 years ago
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, On an average CMOG stretch is very manageable and around 1.5x 👍 So if you flipped at say 50cm the end height will be close to 125cm 👊 Nice bit of defoliation work and with an added 2.5 weeks of veg plenty of time to fill that screen out 👌 Looking good from here my friend👍 With love from Humboldt County✌️ Kind regards Mark..
ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze
ThrashedTV_BakedByGlazecommented6 years ago
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Thanks for checking in and the info! 🙏 Queue the obvious "Duh" but no, I haven't been monitoring PH or PPM/EC. The plants were dropped in my lap and I had to rush the grow set up around them instead of the other way around so I'm still missing some key pieces. Just been using ProMix HP and Tap Water other than the small amount of Blood Meal I put in the first 3gal pot and small feedings (Now realizing I didn't need to start adding to the water yet) Have had my eyes on PH strips and Up/Down kits and will definitely get that sorted in the next couple weeks leading to flip. Going to keep to Tap Water for now and start adding molasses instead of plant food in a couple weeks. How much stretch am I expecting with the 20% Sativa influence? I'm thinking getting them in a SCROG and going for a July 1st flip, should I add a couple weeks to veg to fill the screen if there is not a significant stretch? My goal is 3 oz per plant but I may be battling some heat/humidity in the middle of summer.

ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze
ThrashedTV_BakedByGlazecommented5 years ago
@Med_in_Tropic, I have no idea what it actually does other than the general knowledge that plants like certain types of music. 👍 If I ever listen to music or put it on in the background I'll just put my speaker in the tent so the twins can listen too. I tend to go towards happy, funky, energetic, instrument driven music for .."Good Vibes"? It can be doing nothing or something but if someone kept me tied to a net in their room planning to cut me up and hang me from clothes hangers so they can burn me little by little; I'D APPRECIATE SOME GOOD MUSIC TOO, GOSH DARNIT. 😂

You can get rid of them and still be able to make healthy clones not sure if the safers you have does eggs as well but there is another safers in a white bottle that’s a bit different and maybe find something else from another company. Mites are known to become immune to the same treatments so best to try different products the when you get population low enough you can squish stragglers you see and remove leaves with eggs. I did that with a clone and it worked out bug free all the way through. Even a home made mix of odourless soap and water would help for a cycle just no detergent and scents.
