Hi! First of all, I want to apologize in advance for my poor English (i'm italian) and for all the mistakes I will make...😅 This is my first diaries and my second grow, so I'm a newbie, but I'm very passionate about it and i'll try my best to achieve perfect growing conditions. I hope you guys can give me useful tips to become a better grower. So, for this grow I will use a pre-fertilized soil and Biocanna products. In the future I would like to grow 100% organic My growbow is 80x80x160 (cm) with: - 1 Inline mixed-flow fans for air extraction - 1 inline fan for air intake - 1 clip fan - 1 humudifier (3,5 l) - 1 dehumidifier (500 ml) - 1 240 LED grow light that's it, peace!

Hi @SkinnyJoe! As soon as your seedling has sprouted, it needs a decent airflow. However, at such young age, you don't want a fan directly blowing on your baby, but you need air to circulate around the plant. Just don't put the fan right in front of the plant, make sure the seedling is slowly moving but not shaking (slight breeze, no big wind) and you will be fine. Happy growing! 👊

- WEEK 3 update - it's really hot here, so I'm checking the soil moisture very often to avoid problems (meanwhile I'm clearing the garage so i can move in a cooler environment). The plant looks happy, no curled edge or other stress sign, so i'm happy with it. As you can see the plant is very low (I observed the same thing in the previous grow with a white widow auto xxl) I don't know what the reason is, I think it's due to the fact that I'm using a 600 watt led light placed 100 cm height in a 80x80x160 cm grobox (maybe a little too much?). It's like the plant, immediately receiving a huge amount of light, said "wow dude... this PAR value is amazing! I will not waste energy to get closer!", so it remains low. This is the explanation I gave myself, but I don't know if this is actually the reason 😅 this week I will also consider whether or not to start with the LST

- WEEK 4 - Hi guys! this week I decided to start with LST and I lowered the lights to 60 cm (as suggested by the manufacturer) As you can see, the plant is very bushy and I had some little problem tying her down 😅. Few hours later the apical tip was pointing again towards the light, I guess it's a good sign. As for nutrition, I have not yet started with the fertilization schedule. The soil I am using is the Plagron "Terra Growmix", which should provide nourishment for the first 3 weeks, but I decided to wait until the end of the fourth week before starting to fertilize (unless the plant starts to show some signs of nutritional deficiencies). Heat is still a problem, and sometimes even the humidity tends to drop too low (my humidifier cannot maintain 50% of RH while the air recirculation system is on). This week I will continue to look for solutions to maintain the best environmental conditions for my baby 👊 Happy growing to all of you, peace! - UPDATE - LST Hi guys! so this week I started LST. I think she responded well, few days after i decided to bend again the main cola and I tried to redirect other branches away from the center, to make every branch get as much light as possible. This girl is low and somewhat bushy, I must admit that I am having some difficulty separating each branch and finding the necessary space for it. It will probably be easier once the branches have grown longer (at least i hope 😅) SYMPTOMS I noticed a couple of light yellow / white tips, and on the older leaves I noticed some gray / whitish spots and some yellow / light brown spots. Yellowing tips, I don't think it's overfeeding (I haven't started feeding it yet😆) could it be light burn? even if there are only 2 or 3 tips that show this problem. For the small spots on the older leaves, I don't know, it also happened to me in the previous grow. Could it be a calcium deficiency or similar micronutrient problem? At this time the water is full of limestone, I noticed that when the humidifier is activated, the limestone in the water settles almost everywhere, even on the plant. I am concerned that it may obstruct normal transpiration. I will look for information about it Overall she seems to be healthy. Happy growing to all of you guys 👊

- WEEK 5 - Hi guys! hope you're doing well 👊 I bought a small security camera to keep an eye on the baby when i'm out of town, and I got another small cooler (I didn't have a chance to try it, I'll do it today). I'm continuing with LST, I tied almost all the branches, trying to get as much light as possible for everyone and maintaining a uniform height. - NUTRIENTS - This week I started feeding the plant, I decided to follow the feeding schedule downloaded from Biocanna site (minimal feeding) and feed every 2 watering. Obviously I'll try (and I hope) to capture the plant's feedback and correct the dosage if necessary. Happy growing to all of you 👊

Hey there, that's a magnesium deficiency, you can tell from the yellowing between the veins and the burning / discoloration on the sides of the leafs affecting the older leafs first. It has nothing to do with NPK nutrients or light burn, but it's actually due to the high heat and "intense" light schedule, see : magnesium is used to regulate metabolism (which is itself regulated by temperature and humidity through something called VPD) and photosynthesis so with high heat and lots of light you'll get magnesium deficiencies as the plant isnt able to absorb enough quick enough. So you've already started adding some to the feed, that's good, maintain that. I would recommend also making it into a foliar spray like 3ml/L and just spray it on two to three times a week shortly before lights on or shortly before lights off. uptake by the leafs is 85% efficient compared to 15% through the roots. You should really try to get those temps down (have you considered an evaporative cooler?) and maybe even reduce the light schedule a touch too reduce the stress on the plant. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hi guys, hope you all are doing well 👌 This week I started switching to flowering nutrients and I continued with LST approximately every 3-4 days. I was not able to lower the temperature, so I hope heat doesn't cause too much problems. - DAY 40 UPDATE - Yesterday I slightly damaged a branch as I bent it 😪. I used garden wire to hold it in place, this morning it seemed ok, I'll try not to handle it too much. I love data and information that can be extrapolated, so I'm starting to work on the data collected so far and set up a dashboard for monitoring this grow, but also for data analysis. I hope to improve myself grow after grow. Yesterday I made some charts related to the environmental conditions, In the next days I will add aspects related to irrigation and nutrition. Thank you for your help and your answers regarding the symptoms I have encountered 💪

Hi guys! We are at the seventh week and, except for excessive heat, everything seems to be going pretty well. Nothing special for this week, I finished with Biovega and switched to BioFlores and BioBoost nutrients with a bit of BioRhizotonic (as recommended by Biocanna) and Cal-Mag Xtra. maybe I exaggerated with the LST , it led me to have a very low and bushy plant, I find it hard to look inside and I almost can't find space to water it! At the moment all the branches are at the same height, except for the apical top and the branch that I slightly damaged a few days ago and therefore I have not touched. I'm torn between leaving everything as it is and waiting for the tops to stretch, or trying to put all the tops back to the same height removing the ties (but I don't want the tops to come closer, covering each other) 😪....wht do you recommend? Thanks for your help and happy growing to all! 👊

Hi guys! here we are at the eighth week. I started spraying Cal-Mag extra, as recommended by LaBOSSANOVA. As you can see from photos, there are some old leaves that are turning yellow, I think because they don't take any light inside the bush. I'll try to slightly increase the nutrient dosage (PPM is about 778 per 2.5 liters of nutrient solution). Trichomes on buds are increasing so I bought a cheap 50x-500x digital microscope to see them up close. - DAY 55 UPDATE - I increased the BioBoost to 4 ml per liter, now PPM is around 820 per 2.5 liter. I tried to shoot some videos, but the autofocus on my smartphone sucks ...😓 oh, the smell is getting more intense 😍 Happy growing guys 👊

Hi guys! hope you're doing well 💪 I don't know, but it seems to me that the flowers haven't stretched. I compared this Cheese XXL with a White Widow xxl (grown from February to May) looking at photos from the same growth stage. I saw that the white widow, before the buds become fatter, had very long branches full of flowers at their initial stage, while with this cheese I see that, although we're at day 59 from seed and buds begin to fatten, the branches are short. I think that excessive heat has greatly affected environmental conditions (VPD value is certainly not optimal) preventing more vigorous growth and development. What do you think about it? Anyway, we'll see what the final results will be. Happy growing 👊

Hi Guys! hope you're doing well 💪 the buds continue to fatten, some even seem to grow a little in height. it's getting even hotter here...I put the air circulation system at maximum power, let's see if temperature lowers a little bit. Hi Guys! Hope you're doing well! Day 75...we are almost there 😀 I checked trichomes few days ago, as you can see in the video (just jumping from one bud to another, sorry for my shaky hands) they are milky for the most part, some are translucent, some are transparent and very few amber. I think I'll wait another 2 weeks before harvest. I noticed some slightly burnt tips on the buds (although I'm following "minimum feeding program" suggested by Biocanna, and feeding once every two waterings) but it seems to me a small thing. I can't wait to harvest this little girl! Happy growing!👊

- GROWING - I think this strain is very strong. She sprouted with 34°C (the other seed just melted!), even if she was born and raised in hell (38°C daytime peak!) I think she did quite well. she immediately responded to LST. Maybe she would have preferred less frequent waterings, but I had no problems with burnt tips etc so I think that Biocanna feeding schedule worked well. - EFFECT - 12 days after being put in the jar, this is what I feel: At the beginning there's a sense of general relaxation, after a while the effect becomes more physical, sometimes I felt a pleasant and slight tingling (mostly around the head, limbs) and slight drowsiness and laziness (but maybe it's just because I smoke in the evening, when I'm already tired and fucked up). After a while drowsiness stops, then I feel slightly stoned (let's say I'm not very responsive), I start laughing more often than usual (I was choking looking at Jack Black instagram stories) and I feel in a good mood (love that state of mind) - TASTE - To me it tastes of spices, and leaves a slight sense of freshness but as if it were spicy (i love it).

- DAY 4 UPDATE - Things are getting hot here...with the light on, the temperature rises to 35.3° C (‭‪95° F), I think it's too hot. I think I should buy a portable air conditioner as soon as possible, to try to lower temperature around 26 ° C.

@@SkinnyJoe, 🙏🙏 hope that Air conditioner will work. Sure you already know, but if there are any lights on that stuff to blacken them out/cover the lights. My dehumidifier glows green even when i cover the lights, so I cant put it in my tent 😮😃.

@@motaman311, yes, my extractor is positioned at the top. Unfortunately my grobox does not have openings at the bottom large enough to insert an intake fan, there is only the hole at the bottom for the cables. So I mounted the intake fan in another hole at the top, and there is a clip fan for air circulation. It's hot here! I hope the mini air conditioner can help me, otherwise I'll have to consider bringing everything in my garage, but sadly I won't be able to do it very quickly.

Hi @Stick, thank for your help! got it! I connected my air extractors to a dimmer to keep them at low speed. The problem I encountered with continuous air circulation (even at low speed) is that my small humidifier cannot keep humidity at 60% as I would like (it rises to 45% max). Hi there @@SkinnyJoe so your plants are starting the flowering stretch they are going to be very hungry during this stage so whatever you do , do not back down on the nutes but dont overfeed either. once the blooms start developing I would give them higher doses of potassium as they look a tiny bit deficient in that area. Hey there, hope i answered your question, for more info on VPD check this : https://getpulse.co/blog/vpd, otherwise all it is is a magnesium deficiency but it will turn into all sorts of symptoms because magnesium is used to regulated NPK uptakes too... Anything else you need just drop me a message 👊
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@@SkinnyJoe, VPD is a ... it's a thing, for sure... it varies from veg to flower, and these are just guidelines right? so you have to fine tune it based on your own situation, but for sure you should be around 1.4 better than 3 lol, that's why i wanted you to know about this...
SkinnyJoe
SkinnyJoecommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, thank you for your advise! this thing blown my mind! I've been wondering for a while if there were any values or index to evaluate the effectiveness of environmental conditions. So I rapidly read some stuff about VPD, I executed the formulas and, with a daytime temperature of 36 ° C and an average RH 50%, I calculated my VPD value. The value I found is 2.96, which corresponds to the VPD value represented on the "getpulse" grid for a temperature of 97 ° F and 50% RH. If I understand correctly, I must try to stay in the optimal sweetspot acting either on the temperature or on the relative humidity. Now, since I can't act on the temperature, according to the getpulse grid I could then raise the relative humidity to 76 and have a value of VPD of 1.4 (the greenest) ..... is it correct?
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommentedweek 56 years ago
By the way there are three criteria for VPD : the temperature, the RH, and the temperature at the leafs itself... so you need to buy a cheap laser thermometer to measure that. i'm just saying because it took me a long time to understand that lol 🚀
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@@SkinnyJoe, so basically with VPD you take the temp of the room minus the temp of the leaves which should be between 0 and 5 and based on the 'leaf temperature difference" you then calculate your exact vpd... download the pulse spreadsheet because it's annoying going online and there's more options... i was really going crazy about it before but now i'm more chilled lol... it will be much the same for you i guess lol good luck man !

That's an impressive bush you got on your hands there. Lots of bud sites popping up. Shes a beauty. Nice work. Keep doing what your doing and best of luck the rest of the way.
