Hey Everyone! Back for another round of autos and I could not help but popping the Gold Glue (GG) from my seed vault this time around. From the description they are supposed to really pack on the trichomes. The Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Hound (NCHS) sounds so interesting though and reading through the lineage of the strain I can definitely say I am excited to see what she looks like. Details below: Grow Specs: Strains: 2 - Gold Glue (Illuminauto #24), 1 - Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Hound Nicknames: GG1/2 = Gold Glue 1/2, NCHS = Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Hound Breeder: Mephisto Genetics Total number of Plants: 3 Tent: 48" x 36" x 70" LA Garden 2 in 1 tent (no middle panel used) Pots: 5 Gal Equivalent Air Pot Medium: Standard Roots Organic Soil Lights: Each plant will have a 300W (132W actual) Galaxy Hydro LED overhead. Will turn on 4th light once we are in flower. For the seedling phase I am using two overhead. Water: Reverse osmosis 2-5 ppms Update schedule: I will try to send out the updates every Saturday or Sunday. Grow Schedule to Date: Germination: 9/2/17 Germination Success Rate: 75% (2 of 2 Gold Glue, 1 of 2 NCH x SH, paper towel method) Planted into soil (final container): 9/5/17 Sprout (all): 9/7/17 Age (all): Day 2 as of 9/9/17 Observations/Notes: - All seedlings seem to be very similar in height and structure so far with no clear alpha yet. - There is a small chance that one of the GGs is actually an NCHS because of a slight mix-up. The marked NCHS is definitely NCHS but the GGs will be suspect for a while. Hopefully I will be able to confirm in flower because there is a Haze in the NCHS which might make it grow much taller than the GG. - These are definitely the most optimal and stable conditions I have been able to create to date so it is time to see what I can do here. To the end zone this time! Thanks for stopping by, feel free to AMA, and happy growing out there!

I think they are getting set up to take off! Thanks for stopping by and happy growing out there. 👊

Grow Specs: Strains: Gold Glue (Illuminauto #24), Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Hound Nicknames: GG1/2 = Gold Glue 1/2, NCHS = Northern Cheese Haze x Sour Hound Breeder: Mephisto Genetics Total number of plants: 3 Update schedule: I will try to send out the updates every Saturday or Sunday. Grow Schedule to Date: Sprout (all): 9/7/17 Age (all): Day 17 as of 9/24/17 Updates and Observations: Heights: GG1 - 4" GG2 - 4" NCHS - 5" Growth/Training: - GG1 is solidifying its lead as the most developed plant so far but just barely. GG2 and NCHS are following closely behind. - NCHS is starting to pull away from the others in terms of height, already a full inch taller than her sisters. Hoping it shows a really hazy phenotype - On 9/17 GG2 fell over and GG1 was leaning pretty hard so I supported them for about a week and they are straight and strong now. Waterings/Feedings: - 9/10, 9/14, 9/17, 9/21 - I will give additives most every watering unless I notice a problem but I will only ever feed with macros every second or third water to prevent lockout. - Slurry tests on all the plants have them right around 5.8-6. I do not pH my RO water and I am going to see how well the organic soil and pH perfect AN tech works out before I bother pHing water. Misc: - My winnings from @Biobizz from the May Diary of the Month came in. Took a lot of interfacing with their customer service branch and 5 months but they were finally shipped through and I received them last week. Pretty excited to try them out. I am going to give GG2 the full lineup as directed by their feeding schedules to try it out and then we can all see the results. - I still have not even received a shipping confirmation from @FastBuds regarding my prize seeds. I have reached out to them a few times over the past months asking where the seeds are and they said they would check on it but then told me to talk to Grow Diaries and the @Fastbuds rep then went out on vacation until October. I talked to Grow Diaries and they said they would look into it about a week ago but they also let me know that prizes are doled out by the sponsored companies, not GD. Thanks for checking on that @Growdiaries👊. Not the greatest first impression with @Fastbuds to say the least. I did not expect to receive my winnings right away but I have seen other people on this site that have practically already grown out their seeds to harvest already. Now it is getting cold enough where I live that the seeds could freeze in transit or in my mailbox. We had been debating between @Fastbuds and @Mephisto when my friend and I bought our last batch of autos a few months ago so I am glad I went with @Mephisto at this point. Just wanted to let people know for anyone who has won prizes and are waiting for them to arrive. If you still have not heard from anyone about a month or two after you win, reach out to them because both companies had forgotten or lost it and I never would have received my winnings if I had not reached out. Thanks for the support out there folks. Good luck to everyone going for diary of the month and happy growing!

Tucked all fans down and super cropped. Each plant at 6-7 nodes - D21, Removed two large fans for airflow purposes. Plants exploded in growth and did not slow down with the tucking only treatment. Root tips poking through the bottom of the air pots. - D23, All plants showing sex (f). Aggressively LST'd all limbs down and outwards. Removed all large fan leaves to expose tops. Waterings/Feedings: - D16, D17, D23 - GG1 are receiving my normal line up of AN products and GG2 is receiving the full line from BioBizz. Misc: - Fastbuds update: I wrote the company directly and within two days he replied, apologized for the delay, got my information and 2 days later the package arrived. They were so awesome to give me some bonus CBD seeds for the wait. Thanks Fastbuds! As someone with chronic pain I am really excited to try them and they are probably getting ran next grow. Taped up and rubber banded to main stem for support. - Amazed by the flower progression after looking at last weeks pictures. This is the most exciting part of the process in my opinion. - All repaired branches from last week show no signs of stunting or injury. Just amazing. One of the branches was holding on by a thread and it is doing great. - NCHS is the tallest and most developed with GG1 and GG2 following respectively. - NCHS is really starting to frost up. - GG2 definitely has abundant nitrogen judging by the deep green color of the leaves so I will be dropping her feed back a bit. I have cut out pretty much all nitrogen from her a week ago though so I am sort of scratching my head because the Biobizz nutes (excluding Biogrow that I cut out a while ago) do not have much nitrogen in them according to the bottles. Waterings/Feedings: * I am not going to both adding exactly how much of each nutrients anymore since it changes mid week. I will mostly keep the products in there that I am giving that week. - I am watering every 2 days to keep up with these ladies. - Lately they have been drinking a gallon each. The plants are evenly dispersing the bud to each of the colas which is great! Less trimming! - There are a few leaves starting to yellow which is what I want to see about now. I am going to flush these plants until I see a lot of fall colors this go around. Breeder: Mephisto Genetics Total number of plants: 3 Update schedule: I will try to send out the updates every Saturday or Sunday. Grow Schedule to Date: Sprout (all): 9/7/17 Age (all): Day 58 as of 11/4/17 Updates and Observations: Heights: GG1 - 12" GG2 - 10.5" NCHS - 17.5" Growth/Training/Lights: - I am pretty excited because I always read about people's plants having very distinctive smells and I do not think my nose is bad but so far everything I have grown has had about the same aroma while growing and after the cure. Today on day 58 I smelled a faint cheesy, skunky odor underneath the normal kind of sweet new bud smell on the CCD! That is huge for me so I am really excited. I think I was always harvesting a little early and not flushing long enough. - I decreased the light schedule to 18-6 for the flush to encourage bud maturity and swelling. - CCD is extremely fat and frosty! Love her structure. She did not grow practically anything she could not stack some weight on in terms of side shoots! 💪 - GGs have that typical sweet early growing cannabis smell still but I think they have a long way to go yet. - GG1 seems like it is carrying more weight than GG2. No significant difference in smell or frost that I can notice. Waterings/Feedings: *Most of the time I run 1/3rd to 1/2 strength of all nutes listed. I just try to read the plant and adjust as needed on a weekly basis. * - All three plants seem to be nitrogen abundant (especially GG2) not quite as far as N toxicity but it is close so I will be starting flush tomorrow for all three until I see about 5-15% amber trichomes. - I am watering every 3 days with plain water from here on out. For the last 7 days of the flush I will use Flawless Finish on GG1 and CCD, but just give plain water to the Bio plant. - GG1 and NCHS has been receiving my normal line up of AN products and GG2 is receiving the full line from BioBizz as directed on their website. Breeder: Mephisto Genetics Total number of plants: 3 Update schedule: I usually send out updates every Saturday or Sunday. Grow Schedule to Date: Sprout (all): 9/7/17 Age (all): Day 65 as of 11/11/17 Updates and Observations: Heights: GG1 - 12" GG2 - 10.5" NCHS - 17.5" Growth/Training/Lights: - Starting to smell kind of like dirty feet and a slight cheesy odor in the tent and I think that is thanks to the Chilly Cheese Dog! 😵 Cannot wait to cut her down! - CCD is still swelling up and flushing out nicely! I am guessing she is coming down next weekend so that is pretty awesome. - So my plan for this week and the CCD is to decide when to chop her (most likely Fri/Sat), move her to my smaller drying tent, remove all fan leaves 48 hours before chop, give her 48 hours of darkness, chop the whole plant at the base of the stem, hang it for 7-10 days to dry at ~50% RH, dry trim, put into MyPharmJars jars to cure at 58-65% RH indefinitely until smoked. - GGs smell like a strange sweet smell that is hard to describe but most likely have another 2 weeks or so. I refuse to harvest a green plant anymore and they are dark still so we will see! Waterings/Feedings: - Flushing until I see about 5-15% amber trichomes and a plant that looks like the end of fall. No green except for bud! - Using Flawless Finish on GG1 and CCD, but just giving plain water to GG2. - GG1 and NCHS has been receiving my normal line up of AN products and GG2 is receiving the full line from BioBizz as directed on their website. Grow Specs: Strain: Gold Glue (Illuminauto #24) Nicknames: GG1/2 = Gold Glue 1/2 Breeder: Mephisto Genetics Grow Schedule to Date: Sprout (all): 9/7/17 Age (all): Day 72 as of 11/18/17 Updates and Observations: Heights: GG1 - 12" GG2 - 10.5" Individual Dry Weight: GG1 - 83.33g GG2 - 67.65g Awesome stuff coming from Mephisto. 👌 Wow! I am so impressed with this grow. The price of these seeds is worth it! It was really cool to me to grow something new that had not been grown much before. I did not know what to expect and that added a bit of excitement to it. This is a very frosty plant and based on my research on this site grows extremely consistently so again, props to Mephisto. I do not claim to be a breeder but I am aware than when a strain is that stable, it is because of top notch breeding practices. Strong work! The smell is very hard to describe. It is not super strong but when you get right up and smell the buds, it is like an extremely concentrated sweet smell. I read on another diary that it reminded someone of a wine smell and I would say that is the closest thing I could say. The only drawback (or strength depending on who you talk to) is that the strain seems to only grow to be around 10-15 inches tall. I have a lot of vertical space that I would really like to have used but oh well, they packed it on thick. I bet space bucketeers would absolutely love this plant. For some reason the plant grown with organics had bud rot and I lost 10g of product in the top cola. The rest had no sign. See more details in the Chilly Cheese Dog Review. 👋 Smoke Report: It has been about a month and a half cure. The smell is fantastic but hard to describe other than it smells just like classic GG4 which I am pretty happy with. I liked both of my plants but I prefer the smell of the organic plant to the AN plant. The high is a heavy body high with some nice feeling sprinkled in there. My testers preferred the GG to the CCD. Great stuff overall! Thanks Mephisto!

The next frontier for me will be bottle free if I can. I want to try out no till organic growing. For some reason that style just really seems like it would compliment the way I like to treat these plants. It is also amazing to me how easily you can source some of the ingredients that are so expensive when they are suspended in solution for some reason. Over the past several weeks I have learned so much about Cannabis by studying all the different available elements/how they are used, the soil food web, garden products, etc. I will not be that guy who says one method is better than the other. My favorite part of this hobby is that it is so versatile and can be changed to suit any need from a 5 gallon bucket to a 12' tree. It is all about finding what works best for you and what you enjoy. My goal moving forward is to grow the highest quality medicine (subjective) for myself with the least amount of maintenance effort required, for as cheap as possible. My plan is to buy a commercial grade ~1000W LED, dial in super soil (costs pennies on the dollar to make only plain water needed), and automate my environment to optimum levels which should then allow me to produce quality medicine and reach my goal. My next grow will not be for a long time unfortunately but hopefully not too long! I am most likely going to grow some CBD strains and some of the new Mephisto Lines as well! This one felt really good to pull off. I had some seriously rough grows these last few times around and I have learned a lot of very valuable lessons that I will not forget. Thanks to everyone who tuned in along the way. This is an awesome community, website, and I love posting my updates every week. Big shout out to my boy El Don ✊, @Kronickobe, @Alaskangrowncaliraised, @Thefairybudmother, @B4RNS, @Meibabies, @Mephistogenetics, and of course @Growdiaries! Cheers! -G

The GGs were pretty cool but this CCD is one of the prettiest plants I have ever grown. The main cola is over 4" in diameter and the side colas are all almost as large. The smell is very powerful, and smells a bit like feet but in a good way haha. Like feet with some cheese between the toes haha. I love it! Smoke Report: It has been about a month and a half of curing. The effect of the CCD is very sedating and a great relaxing herb for the end of the day. It is a very heavy body high that lasts a few hours. It messes with my speech at first which is strange. It is hard to explain but it just jumbles me up. Overall a great strain and I would definitely grow it again. Thanks Mephisto! Happy growing everyone!

Cheers! -G

Look at you with the air-pot! Looks amazing, as I would expect!

TheFairyBudMothercommented7 years ago
@Grimbol,pantyhose aren’t watertight! But it does keep soil from coming out of the holes in the airpots.

GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@TheFairyBudMother, Wow! I will have to try that! Does it help with the water leaking?

@Grimbol, I have a tip I just learned from @GardenofAutos. She pulled pantyhose up around her airpots. No more soil mess!!!

@Grimbol, still good information output, I will use it soon in my garden so we'll compare results in different variables. I'm curious on how fast they'll loose color...
GrimbolTheDruid
GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@CaciqueCayacoa, Sure thing man. I might have changed too many variables though to judge taste though like different seeds, different nutrients, you know. I will be able to judge flush speed though I think.

Nice lookin plants G - l just started a diary myself with 3 ccd though theyre nearly 7 wk old cant wait to hear your take on em(smokewise!) as well as the GG as lve got some waitin to go
GrimbolTheDruid
GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@Rouge, Heck yeah! I usually take a bit before I post a true smoke report. I like about a month cure but we will have to compare notes! The gold glues are pretty rad and I would say so, so perfect for a grower with limited vertical space but if you have some space they might not quite be worth it IMO. I have not seen one finish out above 13-15 inches I think. Mine are 10 and 11" I think. Hopefully the smoke worth the smaller crop size. Good luck out there and thanks for stopping by!

Yeah I have seen a couple but everything I have seen so far has been pretty tiny haha. Some guy just harvested a 5.12" plant supposedly but he pulled 1.75 oz dry off it. Crazy! I hope mine eventually stack up like that because they are kind of slow right now. I will head over and check your diary right now. Thanks for stopping by!

Ya want to go with the Mammoth P to get that flop at the end! I would recommend starting at .5 ml per gallon and go up from there it can burn your tips. But def worth it. Just go up to 1 ml per gal. Then cut it out when you flush about a week before harvest.

GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@AlaskanGrownCaliRaised, I was looking at a recipe that didn't have anything living in it other than beneficial bacteria and fungi. Check out "kind soil" on amazon maybe if you were interested.
CaliGrown
CaliGrowncommented7 years ago
@Grimbol, I would love to use a super soil and not have to add bottled nutrients but I can't stand the thought of bugs and creepy crawlers inside, good for outdoor though.
GrimbolTheDruid
GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@AlaskanGrownCaliRaised, Damn yeah aleoght I might look into that. I was thinking about trying to go just straight up no till and use super soil from one of sub cools recipes or kind soil. You ever heard of it? Supposedly grows some tasty fruit.

Let the swell begin! 💪 looks like great color. Super interested in the difference in smoothness between AN and Bio. You going to flush the “organic” bio like you would AN or no?
GrimbolTheDruid
GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@AlaskanGrownCaliRaised, Yeah I was going to look into either no till organics and go back to photos or maybe try and tweak and come up with my own soil recipe that works for autos. Veg+Bloom is also wicked cheap because you aren't paying for water weight and it is easy to use. One of my favorite growers uses that too with some fire results. My goal right now is to make this as simple and cost effective as possible to grow for myself without using super expensive nutes. I think when I was new I just bought into the hype of AN but I want to try to get away from bottled nutrients and try to figure this plant out a little better. I just budgeted out a batch of super soil for like 150$ and that will last me about a year growing some beast meds. The only thing I have to replace often is earthworm castings and base soil. Anyway, best of luck! Your grows are looking good. Can't wait to see some smoke/harvest reports!
CaliGrown
CaliGrowncommented7 years ago
@Grimbol, Sounds like a good plan. I just heard that one of the 2 owners of AN was taken to court for stuff with a kid... I would stay far away from AN. I’ve heard good thing about Remo and Emerald.
GrimbolTheDruid
GrimbolTheDruidcommented7 years ago
@AlaskanGrownCaliRaised, Yeah so now I’ve had the chance to try 5 day flush, 3 day flush, and no flush so this time I’m going for a long one to see if I can see those pretty fall colors I see everywhere. I’m going to flush the AN ones with flawless finish but idk if I should do it to the organic plant. I think for science I’ll just use plain water on that plant. See if I can tell any difference between AN and not. I’m probably going to switch up off AN I’m starting to think they are not really worth the cash.
