Do-si-Dos is doing just fine and I'm happy to see her pushing new leaves everyday. Getting a good amount of new foliage surface area kicking the girl in to high-gear Veg. Looks like a new plant everyday, now. Veg is my favorite part of growing because I like to train and form up my plants to look symmetric (personal preference). Can't wait till week 3/4 so I can start my initial topping and train the girl nice and low. Thanks for reading and happy grows. Cheers!

Week 3 for Do-Si-Dos went well. Felt as though she was about to hit a deficiency as faint signs her stems turning a purple hue and some copper colors specks forming on the end of her lower fan leaves. After pot-up and feed, these symptoms have halted and stem color is regaining it's green hue. Notes of the week: -Stim Root application for the first time along with Diamond Nectar by GHE. Feeding of Week #1, GHE seedling schedule. Next feed will be double for early vegetation schedule.

Need advice as soon as possible. Please see last few pictures of DoSiDos week 3. Am I looking at mottling here? Soil ph maladjusted? Please help if you've seen this before, and what steps do it take moving forward (or am I paranoid, IDK). Thank you!

SF-2000 quantum board light now in operation as of Dec.5th, 2019. Further notes and specs on the light are in the Blue Cookies and NL diaries. I won't copy and paste all of it. What I will say, though, is this lamp is absolutely fantastic. Plants love it and it's helping facilitate speedy growth. Looking at a newly formed node section every 1.5-2 days now. Light backed off to 36" to allow for stretch. Need something to top and train! LOL. I had a concerning/paranoid early week with Do-Si-Dos. Wasn't very excited to see some very visible blemishes and markings/specks forming on my new fan leaves. I reached out to the community on Day 24 and was pleased to get so many responses and help with the issue. Environmental and lighting changes have been made to accommodate the plants through the advice I was given. So far everything I was told has worked out phenomenally and no new signs/markings have shown on any new fan leaves. She's growing like a weed😏 and about twice the size from 4 days ago. Thank you to the community for helping me out and driving down my paranoia/anxiety over these small imperfections. Especially a shout out to @Mrs_Larimar for constantly giving me her time and advice. I hope you don't mind that I tagged you Larimar, but you know how much I appreaciates ya, and wanted to acknowledge the effort you put in here on the GD site. Notes of the week: -I'm tentatively planning to mainline the Dos-Si-Dos but space parameters may not allow for a true manifold. I want to train/top as close to a manifold as possible w/ the space I have. If this works out I will be pruning and burying roughly 2-3 inches when they move to the 5 gallon final home. Want this stem as thick and as short as I can get it. I see so many cool manifold bends on here and I just really want to give it a go. Want to try new things, every grow, successful or not. -Moved to a 20/4 lighting cycle from a 24/0. I may bump down to an 18/6 if any stress is noticeable. So far 20/4 has been working wonders and I feel like she is growing a strong and healthy root system. The stems I'm looking at right now are far more bulky and healthy compared to my first grow, and that's just really nice to see. Want to keep them short and fat! Thanks for reading folks. Happy trails and happy grows!

So, Do-Si-Dos been a weird one so far. She is a very, very tight and bulky girl. She's the 'runt' but only in height. Her growth is quick but not upwards or outwards. Released a wire on her main stem to allow her to move upwards and have been slowly training and splaying all lateral branches to move outwards. Took a small amount of growth from two sections since it was under-developed, covering valuable fan leaves/tops and shaded anyway. After training out and removing those material her lower canopy is finally exposed and in a single day she has shown positive outward growth and fan leaf development (Stay waiting on the upwards part). Developed what looks like a small fungal-gnat problem(?) and have been advised to use a DIY Neem oil mixture and either add direct to soil or through a foliar spray. Will be applying in the next 2 days regardless of method. Using Canna-Terra soil, which has a poop ton of peat moss and I feel that's maybe where they originated from? Update on gnats (?) and neem application next week. Notes of the week: -She is the shortest and it looks like I will have to prop her up, eventually. -DSD is still showing some blemishes/ marks on both old and younger growth. It's very minor and has been there since week three but I am still watching to make sure nothing's a miss. This may still be the result of my lighting schedule and/or heat stress and I may move from the 20/4 to 18/6 within the week. -Pulled really high PPM's and really low pH on my runoff (5.1-5.3 pH and 1650 ppm. Mix applied was 6.1 pH and 930 ppm) but she's not showing a single sign of nutrient burn or toxicities. Hopefully a false read or residual salts... Putting her and Blue Cookies on the same schedule at 6.2-6.3 pH and tap-flush for next feeding. Blue Cookies was showing the same low/high numbers and both will be treated differently then the NL's (6.1 pH and 1300 ppm) until these numbers start to line up a bit better. -Introduced Flora-licious + to the feed schedule this week, moved to GHE 'Early Veg ' dosing, upped Cal-Mag to 3.5ml/gallon (Botanicare), reduced heat from 28 to 26 degrees (reacting to the high heat just like the others) and bumped RH up from 40-45% to 55-65%. Still working on optimizing the tent conditions as it's officially cold as hell outside and I'm learning how to tackle the lower temps/humidly. I think I'm getting there... Cheers! Thanks for reading and happy grows my friends. Update: Added photos of dead gnat found in tent. Catching w/ sticky yellow tape, currently drying out, removed all water sources, tilled top 2 " of soil to expose any larva and burn them off. Trying my best with small solutions but will have to look for a permanent solution sooner then later... Also, it's clear that Do-Si-Dos is their favorite. She's the tightest and bushiest girl and is a nice cool, shaded area for them to propagate. When I move her, they jump out. Removed a bit more growth and trained outwards to expose these buggers to my light and heat. I don't think the gnats are happy now, and screw 'em anyway.

Do-Si-Dos is weird! Interesting little plant. Nothing wrong with her, I just haven't encountered a pheno like this yet. Tight, busy and thick specimen. Interested to see how/where she goes. The Good: -Healthy and seemingly happy. Extremely strong main stem and lateral branches. She doesn't push far but what she gives is structurally sound. -Tap flush at 6.3pH with some Cal-Mag has rectified some concerning readings that I had witnessed last week. Went from a 4.8-5.1pH (BAD) and 1800ppm to 5.5-5.6pH and 1600ppm. It's not perfect but it's a good start. Two more consecutive feeds and/or flushes at 6.2/6.3pH should raise her back to optimal readings. -LST going very well, but she is hard to train with all her bushiness. After transplant to 5 gallon and one more feed I will be defoliating and pruning to open her up a little bit and focus her energy on the tops I'll be choosing to keep. The Bad: -Nothing really bad, just working on leveling out my runoff's. All the girls were treated the same. Same soil, schedule, feedings, training etc... but she's the only one pulling these odd numbers. Blue Cookies was a bit off too, but not nearly as bad as DSD. Fingers crossed I can come back to an optimal pH level in the next couple weeks. The 'Meh': -Fungal gnat problem exists, still, but is completely under control for now. Details on methods used to mitigate their propagation listed in "Northern Lights Week 6". Continued maintenance and a watchful eye makes me confident that this will probably still exist but won't be detrimental to the plants. They have not been allowed to establish themselves and catching it very early was my saving grace. -She's the runt, but she may still surprise me. She will eventually have to be propped up and will probably always be noticeably smaller then her counterparts. Actually interested in how this girl will play out. I figured she was going to be a big girl and easy to grow, but that just isn't the case. Thanks for reading! Happy Grows to you all and Happy Holidays. No matter where you are or what you celebrate, I wish you peace and calm. Cheers my friends.

Hello all, and welcome to the DSD grow. The Good: -It's a girl!!! Pistils have been growing in full force over the week and even though they're 'feminized' it's always nice to officially see their sex. Will update pistil pictures with x60 Magnifier, near future. -Growing very well and very healthy despite her smaller stature. Everything on her is solid and structurally sound. Removing a tye or training wire doesn't result in any movement. -Trained further outwards and allowed 5-6 new lateral branches to protrude through the top of the canopy and take up that space. LST is pretty much over except for minor adjustments. Her, just like the rest ,will be growing upwards now. -Negative foliar signs have pulled back or stopped completely and she seems very happy where she is in her current state. The Bad: -Still pulling pretty low numbers on pH and PPM (5.6pH and 17000ppm) but I am not putting too much thought into it. She's very healthy and has no symptoms of toxicities, deficiencies or lockouts. Due to these low numbers, however, I have tailored a new schedule specific to DSD that will be implemented next feed (Jan 1st). Details in "Notes of the Week" The 'Meh': -She is small and will probably be the runt throughout. I will prop her up the same way I did Black Rhino in my first grow, on a 10" diameter and 5" tall ceramic pot, turned upside down. This should give an even canopy so she won't be fighting for her share of the light. -Small blemishes on older fans still exist but will be left alone to be cannibalized by the rest of the plant. They still have some value and I see no point in pre-emptively removing them. They will drop in time and I will remove them when that time comes. -Stays slightly water logged longer then her counterparts, hence the different transplant dates, feeding dates and schedule. She will be potted up to her final home on Jan 1st/2nd when she is dry enough to move. Again, this doesn't concern me, she just doesn't have as defined a root system as the rest. With proper dry outs and feedings I'm positive she will catch up/eat much faster. Notes of the Week: -Changes to DSD feeding schedule as follows. Halving Micro dose, moving to late veg Bloom dose, moving to late veg/full dose Cal/Mag and adding 15ml per gallon of 'Gaia Greens' 2-16-0 into the fresh 2 gallons of transplant soil to help carry her through flower (This is a slow release bone-meal supplement to condition my pH levels and provide additional Calcium and Phosphorous for flower). Starting low and going slow with these changes. If patterns and symptoms do not change by end of week 8, I will adjust again until the 'sweet spot' is found. -Adding 2' bamboo sticks soon to form lateral branches back inwards, slightly. After transplant, training wires will be slowly released or removed and support wires will take their place by supporting cola weight off the bamboo (planning ahead this time) Thanks for reading and happy grows my friends. I hope you have a good week and spend some quality time with your plant babies. Continued success to you all! Cheers✊😉

Welcome to DSD week 8. Here's the deets. The Good: -She was the final transplant and everything went very well. No negative reaction/response and is growing like nothing happened -Growth has picked up and she is catching up to her counterparts. Easily gaining an inch a day now and new offset internode points every 1-2 days. -RO came back at very satisfying numbers @ 6.1pH and 1100ppm. A big difference from the 5.5-5.6pH and 1750ppm I had been seeing for awhile. The Bad: -No bad. Happy girl The 'Meh': -She is the runt and as mentioned before she always probably will be. -Out of room for all plants now and forming them back inwards. Good problem to have, great growth and speed but got caught trying to keep up with them. Notes of the Week: -She is smaller and has been propped up on the 5 inch ceramic pot to create an even canopy. She is not fighting for light any more and her growth seems to be speedier then her counterparts, now. -Allowed 9 new laterals to penetrate the canopy and played a game of "who wants to live the most", lol. After seeing which tops were the most vigorous, I chose 4 of the 9 to keep while the rest have been pruned off. Without any impedance, these new tops are in full force and even with the rest of the canopy. -Bracing has not been done to DSD yet even though the bamboo is in place. Her form is tight and I don't feel a need to pull her in yet. No until the stretch and cola weight mitigation, of course. Will be adding these tyes, near future. -Adjusted feeding schedule with high P/Cal/Mag and Gaia Green 2-16-0 has worked very well so far and any concerning symptoms of deficiencies or toxicities have pulled back or completely stopped. -Heavy pruning done on this girl, more then any other. She is so tight and bushy, I needed to open her up further then the others for canopy light penetration. She did not react negatively and her undergrowth is now exposed and growing quickly. Thank you for reading this weeks addition of DSD, week 8. Any comments or suggestions? Please leave them below or contact me direct through PM. Cheers and have a wonderful week with your girls (or boys if you breed!)

Hello and welcome to an early addition of the Do-Si-Dos Diary. I am doing this early (Veg, Week 9 (Day 60)) because I have to flip. I do not feel I have a choice. I was looking to mid week to end week 10, but I have lost control of the growth rate of two of them. One, the B.C and the other NL #2. They both gained, roughly, 5-6 inches in 4 days.... (since Tuesday, my last update) and have surpassed my flipping mark by an inch. They have to go to flower as I'm pretty unsure on how the stretch is going to go. Fingers crossed I don't exceed 60% or I may be in trouble. These are officially the last pictures of DSD before the flip tonight, 9pm, Dec 11th, 2020. Updates will now be posted every Saturday/Sunday from here on out. Pictures include a new silica base supplement that will be added to the schedule next feed, the 3M non-residue duct tape I use to mitigate light leaks and how I apply this tape. Lastly, since this is a rushed update, I will pretty much just be copy and pasting this info between diaries. So if you read the log here, there's no need to read the others. It will essentially be the same info but with their strain name subbed in. Any differences or additional notes will be noted in "Notes of the week" Thank you! Notes of the past 4 days: -Except for DSD, all plants are now hovering at the 23-24" mark (60cm) excluding the pot. My trigger was going to be 75cm (planned awhile ago), but with recent growth spurts I see I can't afford to risk it. 60cm became my new mark. -I highly recommend 3M, Non-Residue duct tape if you ever feel paranoid about light leaks. My tent still isn't really broken in yet, so the dual zipper flaps do allow light in and out. I use this tape to cover the zipper track so nothing can get in or out. Advertised no residue if applied for no more then 6 months. I have only had it applied for 4.5 months, but when I took it off there wasn't a single spec of glue or residue. This stuff is expensive, but for me and my concerns, it's wholly worth it. It doesn't stick as well as normal duct tape because the glue is weaker, but it does the job and can be removed/re-applied anytime without a problem.👍 -Potassium Silicate supplement "Sturdy Stock" by Emerald Harvest will be introduced into the feeding schedule next feed. This should have been in the regiment from the get-go but I actually had no idea about it. Once again, a great acquaintance on this site has directed me to pick some up and give her a go. Had no idea what this was or that it could help the cell structure of my plants to better carry their flower weight. Will be starting low and slow with this (half dose start) to see how the girls react to yet another addition to their feed. -Re-commissioned the 240Watt Blurple LED. It is now hung further in the back to help supplement any light in 'dead (er)' spots in the tent that the SF-2000 cannot reach (3x3 footprint in 4x4 tent). Activated yesterday to ensure it wasn't too much for the girls and they were fine. I figure by Flowering Week 2, the blurple will be on for the entire day period along side the SF. -Second Titan Digital Timer has been programmed to operate during the night cycle. This will turn on a small ceramic heater and 32 Watt heat mat to keep temperatures @ optimal levels. I don't want this heater or mat to operate during the day cycle as the power draw and heat is too high. Never will both lights and the heaters work at the same time for fear of tripping the breaker. The lights give off the adequate heat I need in the day so there is no use for the ceramic heater and mat anyway. If heat gets to high in the night cycle, the intake and outtake are mechanically interlocked to trigger at 21-22 degrees to disperse that excess heat and/or humidity and will continue to cycle as needed (roughly 2-3 times an hour it seems). Inline variable motor speed controls are inline with both the intake and outtake as well. When triggered the tent pressure is balanced so it does not puff out or suck in during the fresh air cycle. Trial and error to get that balance, but well worth it. -Last feed and full prune with a very small amount of defo (2 plants, 4 fans each) has been completed 3 days ago. The girls have fully recovered with no signs of stress (anymore) and this is another reason I feel it's appropriate to flip when they're in such a healthy and vigorous state. When pruning, for the first time, DSD and NL #2 actually did react negatively to the cuts and the subsequent feeding afterwards. I have pruned and watered before but they had never done this. B.C and NL #1 did not react at all with the same treatment.... Anywho, DSD and NL #2 were pretty pissed at me for a bit and it took about 6-8 hours for them to come back to full health (They dipped right out after the cuts and feed. Just super un-happy with me). I apologized profusely to them. I didn't think this was going to harm them as much as I projected it would. Sorry girls, but thank you for coming back and recovering👍 I think that's it (?). I genuinely ask for well wishes during this flip! I'm excited but also nervous on how this flowering period will go, especially considering it's my first indoor-winter grow and that has thrown a lot of sticks in my spokes, lots of trial and error. Any suggestions or comments, please let me know as soon as possible in the thread or through PM. This would be greatly appreciated and constructive criticism is welcome (I mean that). Happy grows and good luck to you all this week with the girls. I shall see you again on January 17th/18th for "End Week 1 Flower". Cheers my friends.✊😉

Welcome to Week 10 and week 1 of flower w/ Do-Si-Dos. The Good: -Definitely been a tough week with DSD, but her recent growth and recovery has been very positive all round. After the slight stunting, early week, she is now visibly growing and gaining .5-1 inch per day with off-set internode points occurring every 1-2 days. -Excess salts have been successfully removed and RO came back at more optimal numbers. To achieve this, I changed the schedule and performed a flush through. Further notes on actions performed will be found in "Notes of the Week". Long story short, though, it worked very well and we're back on track. The Bad: -I'm pretty preachy about documentation and I take very thorough notes....but I effed up and did not review my previous feedings correctly (Was looking at BC's schedule and didn't realize)😟 I had a clear Nitrogen toxicity issue starting up and she wasn't growing but couldn't figure out why...? When I reviewed my notes I realized I had been looking at the wrong schedule and that DSD hasn't gotten a flush through in 6 FEEDINGS! No wonder she was upset. Roughly 4 weeks of straight nutrient feeds can do that... I screwed up, but thank God I had my notes to fall back on, or I would just be guessing what happened. -Bad, bad weather. This will be covered further below and the things I had to do in order to keep my temperature and RH in check. Long and short of it is, they are not happy and I really hope me and my Canadian fellows (and our plants!) get a break here. Going on to 13 days of -35 to -45 degrees Celsius. I'm not too sure there are many organisms or creatures in this world that can handle these temperatures.... and it's just not good for anybody or anything. The Meh: -As mentioned, I hit a slight Nitrogen toxicity with her, but that has been rectified. Leaves are back to normal green hue and she is growing again (After 4-5 days of visible stunting going on) -Weather is brutal, but I'm learning new techniques to combat winter. Doing this with very cheap or free solutions instead of buying a solution. Silver lining to this whole debacle are these lessons👍 Weather Conditions and simple remedies: As stated, the weather is bad; very bad. The cold isn't that bad to mitigate and it was relatively easily to do with a small ceramic heater or using my lights as my primary heat source. The issue lies with the relative humidity. The world is pure static and my home is seeing about 20% RH (25%) if I'm lucky. I noticed all plant leaf edges burning, top to bottom and didn't know low humidity could cause faster eating, or that our leaves will siphon whatever they can from the soil when in this state. So, even though I didn't have a Nitrogen issue, all plants burned slightly as they were taking too much from the soil, too quickly. After this research I knew that RH had to be adjusted...or else. Symptoms of low RH: -Fast eating, fast drying. -Leaves lose majority of moisture and they become very papery to the touch. -Plants start taking up too much Nitrogen (or anything it can) from the soil which resulted in a top to bottom leaf tip burn (If left alone, it would persist) Remedies (Cheap and/or free): -I don't like to have standing water in my tent (especially after my gnat issue) but I had to add a pan of water, placed on top of my 32 watt heat mat. This gave me about 7-10% additional RH but wasn't enough. -Hung large tea towel close to, but not touching the light. Clip on fan is cascading air over this tea towel and I can achieve 40-45% total with these two methods -There is always the tea towel, bowl of water and hanger method too, that I may implement if RH continues to fluctuate so wildly. Notes of the week: -Flushed through 2.5 gallons of water with 3/4 to full dose P/Cal/Mag to rinse out the old without starving her of phosphorous. This went very well and I'm pleased to see her come back to full health -Not many early week photos as I was focused on fixing the Nitrogen tox and working out the humidity problem. All picture's, except one, are Day 67 -Current dimensions of DSD sitting at 19.5 inches in height (50cm) and 24x26" in diameter (60-65cm) -ALL training wires have been removed and only bracing wires remain (Held with clips off 2 foot and 3 foot bamboo sticks) -Bracing and forming is going well and I have pulled her in slightly (along with the others) for that better form, but more for functionality. Don't want the plants getting hung up on one another or splaying into each other from the flower weight she will be stacking on. -Blurple LED is ready to go but still not in use. I am going to throw it under the same Titan timer program and it will run with the SF-2000 at the end of this week for the remainder of grow (I had it out of commission again as the symptoms of cupping and praying were occurring. I now know this was less of a light stress issue and more of an out of whack RH issue, so she will be going back on now). I think that's it and thank you for reading this weeks addition of DSD! Any comments or advice is welcome below or in PM. A huge thanks to all of you and happy grows my grow freinds✊👊

Welcome to this weeks addition of DSD, week 2 of Bloom. The deets: The Good: -DSD has had a very good week and is growing out and up very well. Pistil and internode development is picking up speed and it looks like a different girl every day. Stretch is slower then all other girls and she is the smallest (still and probably always will be) but she is pushing roughly .5 inches a day of new growth daily with new internode points slowing down to about 1 every 2-3 days. -Dark green hue of foliage has cleared up and looks much heathier then the previous week where I realized I had been feeding the wrong schedule from reading the WRONG notes... The Bad: -No bad with her either. Very happy with the little girl and she takes her punches very well (punches = my mistakes). She's been very forgiving thus far and I really appreciate her versatility. The 'Meh': -Rh issue is still being worked on but has gotten better. My new routine and RH creation methods have done well and the weather is finally settling down from -35 to -5/-10 degrees Celsius. Able to maintain a solid 40-45%, now. -She's a runt and fights for light so she has been propped up even further to match NL #1's canopy height, as they are under the same lamp (SF-2000) @ 24 inches above canopy height. Notes of the Week: -Changed lighting to mitigate light/heat stress as the girls are stretching further and further. They're slowing but I needed to make these changes to feel comfortable with what I'm seeing. Blurple, 245Watt is back in action and will be on for the remainder of the grow. SF-2000 has been moved further to the front of the tent, over top of the two smallest girls (NL#1 and DSD). The blurple has been placed further in the back with the tallest girls (NL #2 and BC). Blurple is less intense and I'm able to get it closer to the canopy without burns or stress, so she's going to take care of the big girls. I now have a solid flowering footprint and all girls should be seeing relatively the same amount of light/light intensity. -Back to operating ceramic heater at night and not in the day. Blurples on and will give me that heat, so heater is only for night time, and even then it will be decommissioned soon because I would like slightly lower night temperatures... -Cleaned up my wires and cables. As an electrician I was not happy with my sloppy cable management and fixed it up. Aesthetic only, but it drives me nuts when things aren't square. -Weather has sorted itself out, finally. Had a literal 25-20 degree Celcius swing in 2 days, from -35 to -5/-10. Girls are much happier. RH is in order and everything seems to be coming up millhouse. -I did the smallest! amount of defo on DSD, since she's so bushy. Only took 4 fans total. I don't really like to defo and I'd prefer to keep all my sugar makers, but these had to go. The method I use instead of defo is to massage your fan leaf stem b/t your forefinger and thumb until it's malleable. I can then direct it in the position I'd like without having to cut er'. The fan will migrate back to it's original position within 24-48 hours but I have the time and am able to do it everyday or so. This way, I keep my sugar maker, I'm keeping her from any stress and I still get the same canopy penetration results I'm looking for. My rule of thumb is this: If you don't need to take it, 100% , just don't. Best to keep what I got and only take what I really need.

Hello there and welcome to Do-si-dos' third week of bloom. If you all actually read these things, I've decided to add a short "What I learned this Week" section at the bottom. This will be a short blurb on new techniques, methods or general cannabis knowledge that has helped me. Most importantly, it will include the information I've gathered from other members that have helped me see past false information and notions about cannabis growing that I had believed... Anyways! The deets: The Good: -DSD had a great week and even though she's small she has a great shape. Much different then the other girls in almost every way, but a very healthy and happy little girl, for sure. -Building nice flowers and picking up speed. With some minor defo this week I was able to open her up a bit and allow new flowers to catch some of that sweet, sweet light. Over time I will be taking more and more. She's still thick and there's more to go, but I'm going to be moving slow on this and just taking 5-6 fans per feed. By the end of week 14 I feel she will be completely cleaned up and will finish out flower. -I'm actually quite happy she's smaller. If she was the size of the other girls I would have some serious space restriction issues. Her being small allows the big girls to fit in a little better. -I have zero complaints or worries with her, at the moment and I'm just watching her go. The Bad: -No bad this week! I ran another flush through with a half dose of micro (Nitrogen), Sturdy Stalk, Bloom and Cal/Mag. Still working on knocking down the minor toxicity I created 1.5-2 weeks ago. But she's totally fine👍 The 'Meh': -Another small wave of fungal gnats have shown up but are under control. Sticky traps at the ready and catching/killing them quickly. If it gets out of hand, I do have my neem oil, non scented, organic soap and distilled water to create a foliar spray and knock them out completely. For now, it's a non-issue and the traps are doing their job. Just going to keep watching and counting their numbers. -I can see her yield won't be as big as the others, but that does not matter. I feel she will push out some quality, potent buds and that's all I ever wanted😊 Notes of the week: -After a suggestion by another member I have changed my lighting set up...again. SF-2000 is now over the largest two girls and are placed in the front, now. The blurple will be taking care of the two smallest ladies from here on out (NL #1 and DSD) and will be rotated, but stay in the back for the remainder of the grow. I didn't think this through too well and the advice I received made total sense. More intense light over the big girls to slow stretch and less intense blurple over the little ones to encourage a little upwards movement, evening them out a little better with the rest of the canopy. -Stretch is essentially over, thankfully. All girls have seemed to tap out and have maintained the same height (maybe an inch here or there). It stopped at the perfect time...or I would have had to do some jury rigging to pull these lights as high as humanely possible. Very good news. -Increased intake and out take airflow/fan speed and have put vent line under the canopy. Previously it was blowing above to reduce wind burn, but the girls are tall and have cleaned up bottoms. This air flow doesn't hurt them anymore and I really need to keep that circulation under there since they're so bushy. -Defoliation of every plant is going very well. Taking a bit at a time and I can now see light penetration to the soil on all girls. Not much, but open enough to allow light to pass through. A few more sessions and it will be all said and done👌 -I see some shoots I could have taken, but I feel it's too late. Even if it's not, I would prefer to leave them be and it is what it is. I will simply have to adjust for my next grow and defo/pruning will still be another learning curve of mine. This is waaaaay better then the first and already less LARFy, but it could be better and I know that. Next time's the charm👍 -I have been a little complacent with my update photos! All photos posted are end week 12 with no progression pics throughout the week. Need to up my pictures and details. -Lastly, I have a new friend that's into photography on the macro level. She loves taking shots of plant life, most of all, and also loves her cannabis. I offered to have her come over to take pictures of the girls and she agreed. Hopefully at end of week 13 or 14, there should be some much better pictures, on the macro level, showing her beauty far better then my phone can... I'm really excited about it, actually. I want to see what they look like up close, too😊👍 New Things I Learned This Week: -Two weeks ago, when humidity was very low, my plants started to pray and I immediately took this as a bad sign. Then I found an article to justify my concern. Though the article was right about a few things and that praying can be bad, they do NOT explain that praying is also good, pending on parameters. If your plants are praying, it's a sign of vigorous health and happiness, not a symptom of light stress/intensity. If the praying is accompanied by burning, bleaching or there's furling of leaf tips and leaflets, then yah! that's not good and is a sign that the light needs to be backed off or turned down. -Took a suggestion and have been doing a trial run with new feeding methods. It is working very well... I am no longer allowing my plants to go into complete drought. Between feedings I have started to add about 800ml to 1 liter of balanced tap (or distilled at 6.0). I may also throw the smallest amount of one or two of my supplements in, pending on what I feel her greatest needs are. It's not much but it carries her through to the next feed and with re-moistening the media, it re-activates the uptake of nutrients already in the soil. I'm finding it's helping the girl take up the essential nutrients that may be left over from the last feed that wasn't needed at the time or dried out before it could be used. When I go to do my actual feed a day or two later, the soil is very receptive to liquid and takes the feeds very well. They have stopped drooping out completely when I feed, now. This is very important to me. I didn't like the recovery time it took when the plants were subjected to 2 gallons of liquid after a few days of drought. It was almost like shocking them and I didn't like doing this... With this new method I'm testing out there hasn't been a shock to their system and they hardly droop at all, even after an additional 2 gallons thrown in. Has NOT effected RO numbers or caused any problems. I'm really liking this. Thank you all for stopping by and reading up on DSD and the week she had. I wish you all the best this week with your projects and good health for both you and your girls. Cheers folks, and happy trails.

Howdy, and welcome to DSD's 4th week of bloom. The deets: The Good: -Lovely week with little Dosee. I haven't nicknamed any of my plants up to now, but yesterday DSD officially became the "Hobbit House". Haha. Such a tiny, tight and bushy plant, I felt this worked for her. -After another flush through and feed with a cut to micro and gro, DSD has officially kicked the nitrogen toxicity she was working on and everything looks and feels 100% normal again. PH was at 5.7 and raised to 6.0. RO PPM's were hovering around 1750 and have dropped to an acceptable 1250ppm. Went back to normal feeding with the addition of King Kola by Emerald Harvest without an issue or spike in PPM's or a drop in pH. really happy for her. -She noticeably grew upwards this week and I feel it is a symptom of washing away excess nutrients blocking the uptake of others to help her move and bulk up. Her colas are stacking very, very well and I'm really impressed with how fat she's getting while there's still so much time left for her to go. I see a lot of plants like DSD on here, but they usually trained there's to look like this on purpose...mine was accidental. Whether it was stunting due to my feedings and issues I've had with her, or this is just her genetic make up doesn't really matter. I can see she will have a healthy harvest and will thrive up until then.👍 -Just like the others, DSD had a prune and defo job preformed, but there was very little to take (At least compared to the others). She's so tight, I couldn't find leaves or shoots I could comfortably take. All the fans are attached to budding sites and there weren't many extraneous shoots that would become LARF. I did a little bit and she took everything very well. No stress or reaction after the cuts and feed. Happy, happy. The Bad: -Nooooooo Baaaaad The 'Meh': -As mentioned above she's really tight and bushy. Makes it hard to do any defo work that I would like to do. I plan on taking several key fans off in the coming weeks to open up a little more, but it's tough... I walked around her 5 times with my snips and I just couldn't decide what to take or if I wanted to take anything more...I left her be, instead. -Would like to adjust her height and/or the lamp in the back to accommodate her a little more. Probably have to prop her up even further as the lamp is at the sweet spot for NL #1 in the back, but not for DSD. NL is taller and DSD needs to match her. Notes of the Week: -I see this grow will have a larger yield then my first. All the changes in lighting, atmosphere, grow methods, techniques, feeding schedules and most importantly, new supplementation of Potassium Silicate, Fulvic/Humic Acids. molasses, root hormones for transplants and Gaia Green soil Bone meal Soil conditioner have made this possible. I do not regret a single thing I purchased in an attempt to optimize this grow over my first. Only with the advice and help of my favorite peoples on this site, would this have been possible. I didn't know about or look into any of this my first grow. I feel like I've been shaken awake and see all the things I CAN do to increase productivity, yield and quality👍. Thank you kindly to all those people that help carry me and are showing me the ropes to better grows. -All plants are essentially finished training, defo and trimming. They will be left alone to do their thing and I will just do my best to keep them happy while they do so. -3 Strains in one tent instead of two with my first, has given me a great cross section of plants to look at. They're all so different and seeing them show who they are is a cool experience. With their differences, it also taught me to treat the girls strain specific in terms of feeding and care. I've learned a lot by having my hands on these 3 and access to my friends 3 strains (BC Big Bud, Granddaddy black and banana kush). The more the better. -Introduction of King Kola to all plants this week. First dose @ 2/3rd's dose as a test and all girls are happy and showed no issue or stress with the new addition. I picked King Kola, after researching many blooming agents, for a couple reasons. Their trio series (micro-grow-bloom) is very close to the same dosing and concentration as the GHE trio series I'm using. Close to the same, everything....really. I knew that adding KK into the mix wouldn't hurt them as both schedules and concentrations are damn near the same. The other reason was based on community and user reviews. It was highly rated compared to other PK boosters I was looking at and since I was already using EH's Sturdy Stalk (with great success) I trusted the quality, what they had advertised the product as, and what it will do. -Continuing to cut Gro out of my formula while maintaining or upping both Micro and Bloom. Gro is essentially negligible at this point and I'm covering my potassium with the other two. Now with the PK booster, I feel there is zero need for floragro. -I loved EH's Sturdy Stalk and am looking forward to using it again in the Veg stage in grow #3. I'm positive that starting this potassium silicate supplement earlier in the grow will give me better, stronger and faster results. Late to the party on this one, but glad someone recommended it and I will up it's use, next go. -Was dragging my feet on picking up a PK booster, even though I saw and knew everyone was using this choice supplement. With a gentle push from a great acquaintance, I did my research and purchased what I felt would work best for me and my grow, as well as working in conjunction with my other nutrients. I understand now, just how much of a game changer this can and will be. It was explained to me that at this point in the grow, even though they're seemingly happy and healthy, they're also hungry. They can and will easily take a booster in order to swell and push fatter bud sites. What I Learned This Week: -I had resigned myself to all the LARF I noticed after the stretch. I was too paranoid to take any of it because of the dreaded "H" word. I've read multiple horror stories online of people warning DO NOT PRUNE IN FLOWER, OR ELSE!!!. I read these things before I even started grow #1 and it had made me believe that this was a "rule". Well, I kept looking at the LARF and it kept eating away at me. It was going to be nothing, I couldn't open up the plant anymore and I wanted my focus to be on my main tops, not the undergrowth...I think most all of us can agree or go for that. I then started a search for an experienced Defo'er on here. I found her and we had a good chat. Couple things. Firstly, there is a very high chance that all those people that had hermies after pruning in flower probably had a different ailment or stress issue occurring to cause this (like a light leak). The stress of pruning would need to compound on top of other problems to possibly cause a seeding issue. Pruning alone, with a healthy and happy plant, should not hurt her at all...that this is a normal practice. Not just with Cannabis but w/ a lot of fruit baring trees and plants. My grandfather did the same in his orchard to focus attention on the top canopies of his apple trees and even called the pruned sections "suckers"! Secondly, at the end of the day, if all parameters are in order, the plants are healthy, but they still hermie, it's very likely a case of genetics more then anything else. Picking out versatile genetics from the get-go is key. So! My genetics are good, plants are healthy and vigorous... I went ahead and did the trim and clean up. If something does happen, it's all on me and I know that, but I have great confidence that everything is alright and will continue to be alright. I guess this long ramble is a PSA to any newcomers scared to work on their plants because of the things they've read on that there inter-web. So much of what you/I read on Cannabis in forums and even in articles by "Reputable" sources is fearmongering. So many falsities and I really, really recommend staying away from all those unfit sources. So much of it is opinion over objective facts. On GD, it's much less of an opinion than it is a fact. Proof is in the pictures and there's plenty of proof to back up one's claims. This is a "put up or shut up" site to me, and I love it. To new comers, like me, reach out and talk to people on GD that have proven to be competent and knowledgeable growers. Crush the fear and anxiety with the help of these people. They ALL want to see you succeed, here. REACH OUT! Thanks all for dropping by and reading this weeks addition of DSD (The Hobbit House😄). Have a great week with your projects and your girls. Best of luck and happy grows. Cheers👊

Hello and welcome to end of Week 5, Bloom, w/ Do-Si-Dos (The Hobbit House). Going to keep this week relatively short. The deets: The Good: -No complaints at all. DSD had a great week and is stacking really well. She's already damn near caked in trichs and it's looking like I'll be able to hit breeder specs if I/she keeps this up. ( Breeder spec 25-29% THC) -Her terpene profile seems to be the weakest of all 4 plants. It's clearly Mercene, but you have to get right up in her to smell it. I do trust and hope her profile will develop to be much stronger in the coming 3-4 weeks as she ripens. It's getting better, just a bit behind the others terpene dev.👍 Who knows, maybe she's supposed to be mild and I'm just so used to pungent smoke... The Bad: -No bad at all. DSD chugging along The 'Meh': -Accidental semi-drought with her mid week. Had my intake blowing at her without rotating and she dried way quicker then projected and I wasn't paying attention. No damage was done but she did noticeably droop out after her feed (even after priming the soil with water). She wasn't too happy and it took about 6 hrs before she bounced back in full. My bad! Sorry Dosee. -She eats less. This isn't really a 'meh', she's just smaller and doesn't take as much as her counter parts. She usually gets fed every 4-5 days while the others are 3-4 days. Makes total sense, though. The others are huge and have greater needs, DSD is just a happy, squat little one. Notes of the Week: -Not lazy but busy. There are no progression pictures for most all girls in these updates. I have some pictures but they're under blurple and I don't feel they would serve a purpose. Next week, promise👌 -All in all I'm very happy with all girls in the tent. Everyone is bulking up very well and they're all getting along, lol. -Trichome development is blowing me away. I really like my high potency strains and all these girls should put out a great potent smoke. Rule of thumb for me is "I can always take away, but I can't add back in". I don't have a super high tolerance with these specific strains (If they do pull 25-29%) but I cut my potent smoke with a less potent 12.0, medicinal, milled flower (Very cheap). My high potency cannabis serves me very well doing this and it lasts a lot longer. -Roughly 10-12 days since all defo work and trim. Nothing happened. They are all happy and showed no signs of stress at the time of the cuts, all the way up to now. I'm feeling very happy and confident in myself that I did the clean up and reached out to other growers that knew what they were talking about. I didn't tag the person that helped me with the clean up, and that seems rude. Thanks to @QUEENoftheLARF for her advice and solid info. -Determined there is no Nitrogen deficiency shortly after my last weeks update, on NL #1 and 2. They're just naturally changing colors now. Makes sense. 7-8 week flowering window and we're at the end of week 5. She should start to turn a bit. Also, purple phenos on both NL #1 and 2 have been allowed to show themselves. Moving my temperature down slowly until it's about 18 degrees night temp. I plan to lower the temp slowly and it should hit a solid 18 by week 7 when I'd like the pheno's to pop. -King Kola has been applied in two applications over 9 days on all girls and I'm starting to see results. I may be crazy, or this my be a coincidental time, but these girls are bulking up really fast. Comparing my colas in grow one, Week 5 of bloom is pretty clear. This grow wins over #1 in almost every way, so far. SUPER! Told you I'd keep it short (This was short for me, lol). Might throw in a "What I learned this week" later on...but for now, let's take it easy.

Howdy and welcome to end of Week 6, Bloom, w/ Do-Si-Dos (The Hobbit House). The deets: The Good: -DSD had a great week just plugging along. Didn't require any interference or special care, just feeding the schedule she has been happy with and accustom too. -Main colas are stacking incredibly well and I'm very pleased to see such mass on each, single top. I really wanted to see this after my first grow. Internodal spacing and bud sites were spread out and sporadic. I didn't mind but it is a lot of work to trim, manicure and prep for cure. I wanted a more manageable and thick specimen and DSD has proven to be that girl (NL #1 is a close second). -Terpene profile intensified this week but is still not nearly as pungent as the others. She is pure earth with an herbal kick and I can see this being a very good therapeutic strain for me. -Have not needed to brace DSD even close to as much as the others. She's a very tight, strongly rooted and firm girl. I give her little shakes multiple times a day to shore her up...but I don't think she needs it. She holds very well and does not splay, even as the weight begins to stack on. -Trichomes are CAKED on this girl and it just keeps coming. According to my jewelers loop, she looks 50/50, milky to clear. Expecting to see majority milky be end of week 7 and prep for the chop when I hit 80%-ish The Bad: -Plants had a great week, human me did not. Caught the flu early in the week and I've been a total wreck. Haven't had the flu for 18-ish years and I forgot how bad this can be. I tried very hard to keep the girls going and they were taken care of, but they did not receive everything that they needed. I had to postpone my actual nutrient feedings day, over day, over day and just kept giving balanced tap to hold them until I was capable of carrying water ( I could not walk straight, let alone carry 4 gallons of water) down the stairs. Sickness is tapering off...Thank. Frigging. God. The 'Meh': -As mentioned, nutrients feeds were postponed, which is not ideal at this stage of the game (especially with my PK booster needed) but I managed and DSD received her full meal deal yesterday when I finally had the strength to do so and actual give the care and attention she needed from me. They essentially all lost a feed due to my illness and coming into late flower, this was not super optimal. It is what it is and we should be back on track here. -Weather swung back upwards again, now in the positive digits... A 30 degree swing in a couple days. Unbelievable. -Trich pics are hard😟. I'm so shakey and it takes about 50 pictures for just one to actually turn out Okay. Anywho, I got a couple! No where near perfect but I hope they're servicable👍 Notes of the Week: -All girls may actually line up with one another when it comes to harvest, but I won't bank on it. The NL's are a 7-8 week w/ DSD and Blue Cookies @ 8-9 week. However, according to all trich pics they seem to be at the same pace and ripeness (for the time being). If it works out, that'd be cool... but I wouldn't put money on it. -Was concerned about drying my NL's and where. They are at the same pace as BC and DSD but I do expect that they will need an earlier chop to acquire an optimal product. I wasn't sure where to put them, even though I came into this grow KNOWING that they would wrap up early. I plan ahead a lot, but not for this one... Anywho, I had my solution staring me right in the face. I will be taking my 2x2x3' germination/seedling/sapling tent and flipping it on it's head to be 3' tall, not wide. Going to jury rig all my circulation and create an optimal environment as a test, before the chop occurs. The longest lateral that needs to be hung is 22 inches, with the tent at 36 inches. More then enough room to dry these two girls while the others have a chance to wrap themselves up in the big tent. Again, it was right in front of my the whole time and I just didn't see it. No need to build a DIY drying unit anymore👍. -Dropped temps by 1-2 degrees in day and night cycle. It's time for a show, I feel, and these girls have a good promise of one. I greatly look forward to seeing their character and form in late flower. I've been waiting for this...! -Allowed BC and NL #2 to purposely splay a little bit, while loosely braced. There was a lot of tops that needed exposure to light and air so this was my way of allowing them to get it. Now that growth has officially ended (no movement, 2 weeks) and those tops have reached further through the canopy, it was time to tighten them both back up. Good timing, as they were starting to interfere with one another and needed to be re-braced. Nothing is pulling, only leaning and supporting. Movement of plants is much easier with the two biggest girls and tops are no longer getting hung up. After the re-brace, all the tops have access to the light and air they need to flourish👍. There was a reason why BC and NL#2 looked a little unkempt, compared to the others. This is the reason why (never explained myself in the past updates). Updated photos do show a much nicer form on both ladies and they aren't so "wild" anymore. -I'm very reluctant in listening to flushing advice anymore. I'm starting to truly believe this is another form of stoner logic... The most educated and intelligible master growers in the world have stated that there is no need to flush... (Example: Greg Green). I didn't believe or trust that when I first read it because everywhere I looked said "Flush or else". Now, after even further research, articles and practical proof from highly competent/master growers (personal and Micro LP) flushing seems to be largely false and I'm not sure why or how this became a mandatory rule of thumb. I'm not ballsy enough to go with no flush at all, even with my convictions, but I will not be starving my plants for 10-14 days. This is a quarter of my NL's flowering time. Completely counter-intuitive to me. I will be running a 5-7 day flush, max, with both NL's. Flawless Finish will be used on one 5-7 day flush and only tap flush for the other NL. I want to see if there is a difference, if at all. After the flush, chop and dry of the NL's, if all flavor and taste is present without acrid smoke, BC and DSD will be receiving the same 5-7 day flush with FF. Next grow, I will be experimenting with a 0-3 day flush cycle to see if that even makes a difference...or are we starving our girls for no reason? -I'd wager my talk on the flush may not sit well with some people, and that's cool, but this is my belief and it is a belief held by many influential growers. The more I read, the more this notion of mandatory flushing seems wrong and we are willfully harming the full potential of our plants, their quality, quantity and potency. I'll report back if I'm wrong, but this is the course of action I am taking. Thanks for reading this weeks addition of DSD! I hope you all have a good week and take care of yourselves. Wash those hands people! A lot going on out there right now in terms of physical sicknesses and I really don't want any of you to feel the way I felt this week. No one needs that! Cheers!😉✊ **Update: My cola shots are all glared from the flash of my phone... I took out BC and NL #2 today to take non-flash photos to actually showcase their color and build. The other pictures simply don't do the girls justice. DSD and NL #1 will also be getting an update of cola shots during this week, next time I have access to them without being cumbersome (Feb 25th?)***

Welcome to Week 7, Bloom w/ the Hobbit House (Do-Si_Dos). The deets: The Good: -DSD had another solid week, no complaints at all. -She is still stacking cola's like crazy and she's not done yet. I'm excited to see her continue her swell and I feel her final form/product will be a great smoke. -Picking up even more caryo as she goes along. She's helping the NL's take over the tent with pepper and hops. Great smell. -She is the last to show her pistils brown and I'm happy to see signs that she is indeed starting to wrap up and will be ready for the chop in no time. The Bad: -No real bad with DSD this week. Pulled some odd RO numbers, but there isn't anything out of order. The 'Meh': -Her pH dropped again. She's done this a few times, even if I haven't changed anything. I'm starting to feel like this is where she's most comfortable and why she keeps reverting back to these levels. RO being pulled is roughly 5.8pH and 950 PPM. There is no issue top side, but it is interesting that she keeps moving back to these slightly acidic soil levels. It is what it is👌 -Still looking to defo her a tiny bit this week, but as mentioned in previous entries, she's so tight and all her fans seem very important. I'm reluctant to take anything, but these fans are blocking other tops from light and air... It's a catch 22. Take em' and encourage the lower tops or keep them and have them focus on it's mains. Notes of the week: -Both NL #2 and Blue Cookies are both getting top heavy and I'm working to keep them in shape and away from one another. I'm having an easier time moving them, at least. Grow number one, at this point and time, were already strung up with plant yoyos because they couldn't hold their new weight. I couldn't move them because of this and it was a pain. Happy I don't have to do that again. Yoyos were great! and served their purpose when I really, really needed them. But with the changes and stronger plants, I don't need them! This a good thing👍 -Ocimene is out as the dominant terpene in the tent (Blue Cookies) and Caryo has officially taken over now. Tent is niiiice and pungent with a thick peppery aroma. Fun watching them compete for dominance, haha. -From the new trich pics, it looks like the breeders notes are going to line up quite well. The NL's are wrapping up and I can see them ready for the chop around March 12th (8ish weeks Bloom). DSD and BC are looking like they're at the same pace and should be wrapping up around March 20th-ish (9-10 weeks). -Set up drying tent and she's ready to go. Moved the little tent right by the big girl and jury rigged all my equipment through splitters and timers. Did a test run with x2, 1 foot tower fans and two computer fans w/ makeshift hangers and tea towels to maintain a decent and constant RH. During the test, the unit held about 18-19 degree Celsius and 50% RH. Pretty much what I was looking for. -Trying to get better pictures of the plants without the obnoxious flash of my camera blurring all the trichs and colors. I feel these are a little better...but I still have some work to do and maybe pick up some decent, used lighting equipment to achieve the results I'm looking for. I love so many of the pictures on here. The extra effort really makes them pop and I'd like to try to do the same with the tips I've been receiving from other users. Some of you folks are an absolute inspiration and I appreciate the extra time you put into your photography👍 (I still suck at trich pics...I don't think that's going to get better any time soon, ha) Thanks a bundle for your attention and for stopping by! Best of luck to all of you with your girls and projects this week. Catch you next time👌😀

Howdy and welcome to Week 8, Bloom w/ Do-Si-Dos. The deets: The Good: -All is well with DSD. Very happy to see some very dark purple pheno's start to show in her final 2 weeks. -Terpene profile has developed further and she's become very pungent...thankfully. Strong Mercene and Caryophyllene scent all round. Thumbs up. -Still pushing and swelling. She is by far the most potent looking and am looking forward to just how strong she will be. She is absolutely caked in trichs and it doesn't seem to be slowing. Very good news. -Everything is lined up and ready to go. She received her last full feed and I will be prepping her for her 5-7 flush, along with BC. Officially end game. Again, I'm very excited The Bad: -No bad. The "Meh": -After another flush and RO reading, DSD has still chosen to stay at a lower pH. Keeps dropping back down to 5.6-5.9pH but PPM's have not swung with it. There are no noticeable top-side symptoms, so either this is just to her liking or my readings are off. Either way, I see no issue and she's not reacting negatively at all. Going to leave her be and just continue with 6.2-6.3 feeds/flushes. -She swelled and shut out some light to some pretty substantial lower colas. I defo'd a tiny bit and re-exposed those tops but there are still very shaded areas. I will expose those tops in the last week of flower and help them ripen, but for now I don't want to take anything that might inhibit her growth and swell. Catch 22 again. Notes of the week: -All girls, as of March 7th, have received their final nutrient feeding. I had tapered down my doses but we're now moving to the flush schedule. Looking to about March 20th for all plants to be chopped, NL's should be curing and BC/DSD will be drying by then. -I keep posting heights and Diameters but totally not necessary. They stopped growing 3 weeks ago, so I'm not going to beat a dead horse with the same heights and diameters. Probably should have stopped 3 weeks ago, haha. -Moving from GHE to a new line of nutrients. Haven't made up my mind yet, but there is a short list of suppliers I'm looking too. I found out GHE is owned by Hawthorne Gardening Co., which is a subsidiary of Scotts miracle grow which is directly partnered with Monsanto. I don't know about you all, but I won't willingly support Monsanto in any way. I wish I did more research before picking and running GHE. I would not have done so if I knew Hawthorne WAS Monsanto/SMG. -So after 3.5 months from the end of my first grow, I finally! concentrated my shake and milled herb (GG) into 21% (rough) oil👍. Wonderful product. Clean, potent and very relaxing. Used the insta-pot method, 1:1 product to coconut oil. Couldn't believe how easy this was and can't wait to make gummy bears next go. Only issue...I hate coconut but was told I wouldn't be able to taste it. Oh man, I can taste it and it's all I can taste, haha. Going w/ Butter next time. -Not really pertinent to this grow, but I have chosen and received all genetics for Grow #3's menu. We're going to go with x1 Black Widow, x1 Granddaddy Bruce, x1 Purple Star Killer and x1 Space Cookies. I'm clearly still on the high potency, Indica Dom train. All these, except for Space cookies should exceed 20% THC quantity, easily. I'd imagine I'd have to make a lot of mistakes for it to drop below 20%. Genetics provided by Paradise seeds and i49. If you have an Insta-Pot or are interested in making concentrates with one, here are the basic steps to make some oil. Very easy, this will be short (7 quart version (7-ish liters)): Step 1: Fill with water to 3/4 fill line Step 2: Throw in your mason jar of cannabis with lid sealed very tight. Step 3: Secure lid, turn on and pressurize. After full pressure is achieved, De-carb for 12 minutes. (timer on Pot does this for you, just adjust to 12 minutes) Step 4: After the 12 minutes, de-carb is over. Vent steam through valve and wait for all pressure to disperse and for the spring loaded safety pin to drop back into place. Step 5: With gently melted coconut oil (250ml), open jar and add in. Re-seal Jar and repeat step 1 and 2. This is one ounce to one cup of oil. Pretty close to a 1:1 mix. Step 6-This time when we put it in, we allow it to pressurize and then countdown for 15 minutes, not 12. For stronger product, increase the amount of time. This will help burn off more oil and leave a more concentrated product. Be aware that 1-2 minutes more can make a very big difference and/or may even burn the coconut oil. I would recommend just using less oil @ 15 minutes then risk hurting the product. Thank you everyone who stopped by and checked out the Hobbit House. I wish you all a great week with your projects and your girls. Best of grows to you all. Cheers and see you next week😉👍

Hello all and welcome to Week 9, Bloom w/ The Hobbit House. Been busy with harvesting the NL's so this will be shorter. The deets: The Good: -Great pheno's and leaf changes. Some are so dark they look black, until you get up close and realize it's a very, very deep purple. -Trichome production is crazy, still. Just keeps stacking up. -Got very pungent this week and is almost as strong as the other girls, for the first time. -Went through with her first flush and she took it very well. No drooping and no attitude👌 The Bad: -Zero Bad The 'Meh' -I know for a fact DSD has an excess of salts and I've been fighting with the mistakes I made for about 2 months. So, unlike the NL's, she will need a longer flush and she does get a chelator, right off the bat. Flush is under way. BC will and is being treated the same, as I feel she is carrying a little too much as well and isn't turning in fast enough. Results from first flush: 1. 2 gallons, tap @ 6.2/6.3pH and 230ppm w/ 8mL per gallon of Flawless finish. RO #'s: 5.8pH and 943ppm 2. 2 gallons, tap @ 6.2pH and 200ppm w/ 1.5mL per gallon of Humic Acids and Molasses. RO #'s: 5.8pH and 1200ppm -Feel like it's going to be a small yield after inspecting her. I made mistakes with this little one, so this is on me. She did a good job despite my screw ups. Notes of the week: -BC and DSD have both gotten their first flush and are being put on the same flush schedule. Both have excess salts and may need 2-3 flushes before the chop. Still lined up to chop the both of them this coming Sunday/Saturday -NL #1 has been chopped and #2 is coming down March 15th. I don't have the time to update NL right now cause there's quite a bit to say. Long and short of it is...holy crap. I think it was successful.😃 -For quick drying my samples I got some advice on how to expedite the process. Threw the sample on top of the PS4 (or your modem) and put a small fan on her. Dried quick, wasn't harsh, and it was all clean. Happy, happy. -Working on optimizing my little drying tent. I had it allll set up and ready to go but missed one crucial thing...there's no damp cannabis hanging in there, so my RH plans went out the window, hahaha. Man, things like these constantly remind me I'm noob as hell. I hope to have it locked in by tomorrow. I'm operating at 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 35% RH. Not too good. -Can't wait to show the NL harvest to you all. I see them everyday, but when I stripped down #1 today, I was in awe of just how much there was. Massive compared to my first grow. One of these has as much, if not more, then two of my first grow girls. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for stopping by everyone! By next weekends update, she may have come down too and there will be some pictures to share👍. Cheers, happy trails and have fun/stay safe out there.

Hello all and welcome to the final week, Bloom, of Do-Si-Dos. Girls been chopped and drying. These are the final photos before harvest week, review and the final numbers. The deets: The Good: -Little Dosee has finally come down and she was a great looking girl. Very tight and dense buds on her. Though she was the smallest of the four she does look like there is a decent amount of yield to her. (projecting 70 grams whole bud and 55 grams LARF for concentrates, when all dried up) -I love that I didn't need to do any major bracing or strapping with DSD and she held her own throughout the entire grow. She was a very strong, stout and versatile little plant. -I have a lack of trichome pictures because I have a very hard time not shaking when I take them (I'm naturally shaky). But! everything is in order. I got my first amber trichs mid-week and that's what I was waiting for. The Bad: -Can't say there's any bad at all. The 'Meh': -No 'Meh' either. I'm very pleased with her end game results. **Final Flush Readings (Total of 3 wash through due to excess salts** First 2 gallons: -2 gallons w/ 8mL per gallon of flawless finish @ 6.3/6.4pH and 210ppm -RO #'s: 6.3pH and 314ppm Second 2 gallons: -2 gallons w/ 1.5mL per gallon of Humic acids and molasses @ 6.3pH and 190ppm -RO #'s: 6.2pH and 470ppm **End Flush Notes** Notes of the Week: -This is my second grow so I don't have a good method or handle on trimming and manicuring my buds, especially since these buds were about 5-6 times the size of my first grow and I didn't know how to go about tackling them. After chopping and finishing up both NL's I kinda got in a groove and DSD went way faster then the others. I trust BC will go quite quickly as I have my own little system going now. Too bad I won't be able to use it for another 3-4 months, haha. -NL's are dried and jarred and will have their harvest week update written up by the end of the 22nd, rain or shine. -BC is the only one left standing and she will be coming down on Sunday, March 22nd. This grow is a wrap. -While DSD and BC are drying in the little tent, I'll be sanitizing/sterilizing the big tent in prep for Grow #3. I'm really excited to go again here. I have a lot of new plans, methods and techniques I want to implement to further this journey, optimize my product and grow space👍. Looking to start this project by the end of March when Grow #2 is completed and jarred. -After the NL's were chopped I de-commissioned the blurple light and it will probably remain off until next grows flowering period. If I get my hands on another SF-2000, you'll never see this lamp again. -Little tent has actually, finally been acclimated. Took me way too long to figure it out but it is operating at 45-50% RH and 68-70 degrees now and I'm hoping the dry time of BC and DSD will be prolonged further for some extra ripening. -The LARF for all the girls was placed back into the big tent after manicuring to purposely burn off some racey THC and convert some of it to CBD/CBN. This is my oil concentrates product and I like a more narcotic body high to help me sleep👍. I absolutely love how we can manipulate our girls to give us the results we want. These girls will be my medicine and my recreational smoke, pending on how I choose to use it, bake it, concentrate it, etc... -Speaking of drying, I was trying to prolong my dry time of the NL's for 7-10 days but that didn't work out too well. Ended up being a 5 and 6 day dry for both, but that's good enough! Better then a 2-3 day flash fry👌 Thank you all so much for dropping by and seeing the final pictures of DSD standing in all her glory. I look forward to seeing you all next week with my official numbers and product. I am with all of you in these times. I pray you all stay well and you and yours stay healthy. We will get through this together, my friends. Try to be kind, helpful and understanding in the coming weeks and know I wish you all the best of health and serenity in all of this. Enjoy your medicine and your girls this week and I shall see you soon✊

Hello all! Welcome to Little Dosee's Harvest. The deets and the numbers for y'all. DSD was a treat to grow and I'm happy I picked her as a strain to try out. I made mistakes with DSD but she constantly bounced back. I'm positive other strains under the same conditions would not have taken it that well. She is clearly the runt of the group and that's due to those mistakes I made. The writing was on the wall and I saw she would not yield like her counterparts, but she was very dense and healthy. Whatever was coming off her was going to be gold, even if there wasn't as much. She is potent as all hell. I knew she would be but it still knocked me down a bit on my first tasting. Fantastic👌. I haven't tested THC/CBD quantities, but plan too. For now I can only ball-park a 25-26% THC (?) w/ negligible CBD. Along with dense buds that break up nice and fluffy, this girl was a winner for me. Her extra potency will make her last longer if I cut her with a lower THC strain. **The Numbers:** (LARF and milled flower weights are halved in the "Outcome" portion, above. Personally I don't like to count it as whole bud, but it's still quality flower for concentrates. For this reason it's counted, but not in full. The numbers below are different/higher then the "Outcome" but are the actual weights taken on the day of Jarring) -Whole Flower- 55 Grams (1.96 ounces) -Milled Flower- 35 Grams (1.25 ounces) -Total Product- 90 Grams (3.21 ounces) -Jar #1, whole flower- 26 Grams (.92 ounces) -Jar #2, whole flower- 29 Grams (1.03 ounces) -Jar #3, milled flower- 16 Grams (.57 ounces) -Jar #4, milled flower- 19 Grams (.67 ounces) The numbers aren't through the roof but I'm more then pleased with the outcome. She will make for some fine smoke and potent oil concentrates. At the end of the day, it's always about the quality. So, I'm a happy camper. **Grow #1 Vs. Grow #2** Long story short, in Grow #1 I was really hesitant to push the envelope in any way. I used a basic Nutrient Trio and Cal-Mag. I didn't do anything but what the schedule told me and I usually only applied 3/4's of the recommended dose. I was walking on egg shells and scared to hurt/kill them. They continued to look healthy and put out a great product, but it was clear that a lot of changes had to be made. The yield wasn't there and if I was to grow my own, to carry me and my family between grows, I needed to up these numbers, man. This was my mission and I made a lot of those changes. Below are most all the methods/techniques/nutrients/additives/equipment used to increase these numbers over my first go. 1. Nutrients/Supplements/Additives Grow #1: -Standard GHE Flora Series Trio & Cal/Mag 0-0-2 by manufacture's recommended doses, or less Grow #2: -Standard GHE Flora Series Trio & Cal/Mag 0-0-2 at full dose, advanced schedule -Introduction of Humic/Fulvic Acids (Diamond Nectar), Molasses (Floralicious Plus), Potassium Silicate (Sturdy Stock), a PK Booster (King Kola), Root Stim #1 (n/a) and Gaia Green 2-16-0 Bone Meal 2. Medium Grow #1: -First 3 gallons, Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. Last 2 Gallons, Dutch Treat w/ perlite conditioner (Soil was under conditioned and had high water retention) Grow #2: -All 5 gallons a 50/50 mix of Canna Terra (Peat moss for aeration) and Dutch Treat w/ 1:10 ratio of perlite added. (So it could breath, feeds could be applied faster and water logging was no longer an issue) 3. Lighting Grow #1: -Single 245 Watt, Blurple LED by Phlizon. (Specs in week #1 of this diary) Grow #2: -Addition of Spider Farmer-2000 Quantum Board LED for vegetation and both the SF and Blurple used in tandem for Bloom. (Larger output, higher PPFD rating and adequate footprint) 4. Environment Grow #1: -Held an almost constant 70% RH and 26-28 degree Celsius in Veg and 50% RH and 24-26 degrees Celsius in Bloom -Light cycle held at 24/0 for the entire grow Grow #2: -Held an almost constant 55-60% RH and 24-26 degrees Celsius in Veg and 30-45% RH and 21-24 degrees Celsius -Light cycle at 24/0 for seedlings and moved down to 20/4 roughly 3 weeks into Veg. 5. Training Grow #1: -Topped multiple sections, trained out, ran out of room and by the end they were not very sturdy and needed to be propped up with ribbon/yoyos Grow #2: -Topped the main once and once only. All other tops accomplished w/ LST. Additional bamboo sticks and strapping were planned ahead of time and by end game they carried themselves very well even with far more weight then the first go. 6. Trimming/Pruning Grow #1: -Did very little trimming, pruning or Defo. Was uncertain and this was more of a natural grow. Many, many tops with finite product on each Grow #2: -Planned for 8-10 Mains, max and pruned to accomplish this. I was not as hesitant to prune and defo as needed to help larger cola sites flourish. Achieved the 8-10 tops on both. Less LARF, easier trimming, more product, big win😃 That was the Hobbit House folks. It was a good ride and put on a great show😊. Thank you to ALL of you for keeping up with my updates and for all your support. It is and is always appreciated. Cheers to all my grow friends and happy trails✊: 1:
