Monday Feeding with Greenhouse Hybrid powder + calcium , ph 5.8 & Ec 1.7 . I will use a lower ec level for the next feedings , something around 1.5 until I can see a sign of pre flowering / stretch then I'll give 1.8ec and try to finish the grow around 2.0ec. Stretched a bit more since last week , I've adjusted the light at 40 cm of the tops , it's suposed to be enough with a 150w QB but I could be wrong. By the way it's a generic QB that can be found on any Ali ( aliexpress or alibaba ) , if the 150w version in harder to find it's because the standard is 120w , at least the generic QBs Standard. PS : If you can see the metalic structure of the box on the right corner you can see how nefast can a high humidity level be. My box must be a year and a half old β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Thursday The leaves are growing big , nothing much to say except that I’m about to top one of them and let the other grow to see the difference , the main stems are already hard so not flexible enough to be bent β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Saturday I've been feeding them yesterday , same dosage as monday. I feel like both of them are growing quickly , the main stems are now solid and they will not take long to push secondaries ! I've put pictures of anther GF almost ready to harvest because it's good to have an idea of how they could be later and also to show you the 2 auto clones taken from her. The clones has been taken at the begening of the flowering while the bud were sarting to form , they rooted quite quickly . One did continue to flower just after a short reveg from a week and did stay short while the other one re-veg completly and did pushed a lot of secondaries , she is just starting to push some more pistils after a 2x stretch

What is your best auto-clone yield ?

@Spinnnn Hi mate the only time I managed to clone autos it was for sex reversal but from research they yield pretty much nothing because they retain the age at which they were cloned and will go to flower as soon as the mother plant you cloned from does thus resulting in tiny little plants trying to flower.

My trichomes are 100% milky or close to and the flavor is nice but the buds could builk up more during the next 2 weeks . What are you re commending ? Harvest now or later ? Effect over yield or the opposite ? Thank you guys πŸ™

Personally, I prefer to go a little bit over after previous experiences where I harvested with no Ambers and the buds could hand been thicker and stinkier. So now I don't flush until I see an Amber and give it minimal flushing. πŸ‘πŸŒ±

@Growdiaries, Could you add a runoff/drain values feature in the soilless diaries please ? It would be cool

@JinksyGrows, Yeah bro that’s could be useful to us and it could also give a great help to the newbies whom can be confused by the crazy runoff values πŸ˜‹

@OutForReal, I'd love this fo soil too. Help show the difference between what we put in and what we're getting out. Solid idea that would be nice to see here.

@Med_in_tropic, Haha great question amigo !! In fact yes autos can be cloned , I β€˜be seen a topic on a forum about it years ago and gave it a try just for fun. Check the last picture of week 3 to see my 2 grapefruits clones , the mother plant is the one in flowering . They are in 3L pots in recycled soil and they are doing well. I was thinking about using auto clones to makes seeds instead of using a plant that I want to smoke πŸ’¨ so something free from any seeds. 🀘🏼

@OutForReal, ive tried reversing the sex of auto clones with sts but they dont produce a lot of pollen so I still reckon sacrificing a whole plant will produce better results but it's still fun to experiment Mate

Hi @Shagrath, " Ive never heard that the bud is ripe and ready but still growing more. " I am saying that the trichomes are 100% milky which means that the trichomes ratio is ready for an harvest , but the bud structure is showing a second bulking up as this plant shoots more pistols and the calyxes are pretty small , they can easily double in size like the 1st grapefruit I've grown. So you can have a 100% milky but still not have the full size/shape/yield potential. That is why I am talking Bout effect over yield , because with a 30% amber trichs the effect will be more sleepy but still good with bigger buds. Thanks for your answer bro @Nor_Cal_Kannabliss, Thanks , my favourite ratio is around 30% amber because the effect is starting to be more sleepy ( the " go to bed " effect ). When you past that 30% you have a big big sleepy effect 😁 my favourite effect . Thanks amigo @Fruitgrower, I got you bro πŸ‘ŒπŸ™Œ thanks for the answer , generally I am doing like you but this time I'm trying an early harvest 😁

That sucks about the bugs, but shit happens and you grow a lot of πŸ”₯! If its just a few plants it should be manageable, I dealt with spider mites during flower (when I made the mistake of taking in somebody's plant) by spraying down the leaves with water at a decent pressure to blast them off a couple times a week. I also went through the plants leaf by leaf, checking both sides, and squishing any pests I could find and removing leaves showing infestation or heavy damage. I also fogged the with some insecticidal soap (avoiding the buds, just under the canopy) and sealed the plants for 30-60 minutes before turning airflow back on. This kept their population so low it didn't end up messing with yield/quality. Hopefully it's just thrips as they shouldn't be too bad to manage. I also agree with the effectiveness of neem as long as it's really early in flower (it smells and tastes like shit which is a risk). I've never tried them personally, but introducing predator insects can also keep the population down without hurting quality or spraying with chemicals. I am sure you're going to beat the bastards and yield some good bud πŸ‘

@Cheeba_Inu, Haha my bud rot feels like a deserved punishment πŸ˜‚πŸ˜βœŒοΈ I mean who'd growing indoor without an air extractor ? ...... except me πŸ˜… Like you said it happens sooner or later during a grower lifetime, sooner is better to learn how to manage the issue ! Just hope that mine will be minor as it's always happening on the biggest buds
Cheeba_Inu
Cheeba_Inu
@OutForReal, bud rot always feels like a punishment for good growing, which is the most tragic thing. But I think it happens to everyone sooner or later and it's good to be prepared! A vacuum sounds like a really good idea! I've used it for fruit flies/fungus gnats before, and I imagine you could suck thrips up the same way as well. Seems like a fun way to get revenge on them lol πŸ‘
OutForReal
OutForReal
@Cheeba_Inu, I'll monitor for the bud rot as am pretty familiar with that issue which is happening at least once a year for me but luckily ( if I can call it luck ...) this year it happened to my 2 ultra lemon haze 😭 so it means that these one should be safe 😏. Did you tried to get rid of them with a vacuum? I am about to try it too , to get rid of the last bugs πŸ‘πŸ˜

Hey bud, sorry to hear about your motor problem. This is a bit out there but try using a vacuum cleaner hose to pull them all off. Shouldnt affect the tricomes at all. I have never tried it but have seen some literature about its soundness. Good luck ✌️

@@BraveheartGenetics, Thank you for that brilliant idea amigo !!! These little bugs can't beat the vacuum πŸ˜πŸ˜‰ I will try it today The most simple ideas are often the best and most effective ones ! Hey spinna. Nice to see u turning out some nice plants mate. You get em going well in small pots! I have my first auto at the moment and i worried the pot may be too small but noticed yours were going well in smaller pots. I reckon nothing beats neem for certain pests. No home remedies seem as effective. In oz we have a product called eco neem. Works well, does smell a bit but early in flower it is effective here. Cheers mate

@Shooey,Thanks bro ! I recognize that I am always growing in small containers since a while now but now that I am in coco it is changing everything about the way they are growing. I still need to manage the grow space better as I'm used to the outdoor grow so it's cool to be back indoor . BUT YOU ARE 100% RIGHT about the fact that any of my grow would have been better with bigger pots πŸ˜… I have spread the girls with neem oil and removed the bugs with a wet tissue so now I will monitor and watch how it goes . Bro you've really put the stress on something interesting : the little pot thing ! I feel like I need to adapt the feeding and watering to that parameter because I'm almost always ending up with some deficiencies due to the lack of space or the lack of nutrients . Thanks amigo , sometimes we need someone else to realise things πŸ˜‰πŸ’ͺπŸ‘
