Welcome week 2, this week the Quadlining training begins with Topping and removing nodes. It is recommended to do these two steps with a little time in between, to let the plant recover a little. A recent experiment from another grower (at 420Mag) has shown, that doing both at the same day, seems to be better for the plant. So stress all at once and let her be. I will try that next time, makes sense. I was inspired by another grower from here called Basementganja to top one node earlier and only remove the first node (Quadlining you remove the first two nodes and top above the fourth node) He starts training his plants very early. I liked the idea of that, since I wanted to get as much of the training done in veg, as I could. Both my Autoflowers and in general can start flowering at any time and I needed their growth to train with. I'm using Biobizz Heaven to make them strong, in this case, I think they took to it too well and I had really thick stems which are harder to train. To recover from topping I also gave them a little of Biobizz Activera. Day 8/15 (Day Veg/Seed) switched positions for better lighting. checked if they need watering. will wait till tomorrow. on photo they look dry. mmh... no food. Day 10/17 TOPPED over 3rd node. watered 1l each with 1ml activera fish heaven Day 12/19 REMOVAL of node 1. watering? top soil still little wet. no watering. quadline started. top fan leaf broke off of blackberry. but not the shute. fingers crossed 🀞 Day 13/20 watering and more training. broke one bottom shute in blackberry. taped. Day 14/21 looking so so. stems really thick. hard to bend. Edit: I am writing this entry after I already went through half the grow. In this particular week, I made some horrible mistakes. So if you want to try this training, don't make the same mistakes. I trained my plants too hard, I used green wire and tomato hocks and I didn't leave enough room for them. So just because you can bend them all the way down, don't but see it as a gradual bending process, every day a little more.

@Bushbaby808, the first 2-3 days they really give off a strong and hearty smell 😜 This is how I do the fridge dry: You need three buckets/bowls with water. For 5 gallon water, I use 1/4 cup Lemon Juice and 1/4 cup Baking Soda. If you need smaller buckets, calculate it accordingly. So one bucket with the lemon/baking mix and two buckets with just plain water. Take your colas, dip & swirl (w/o touching the sides) them in lemon mix water, then dip in clear and then again in the 3rd clear water bucket. Hang dry for 4-8 hours, with little air circulating. Then trim a little and take of the cola. Weigh 28g buds per paper bag (roughly 7g dry). Lay them flat in the bag in the fridge. Don't put bags on top of each other. Everyday give them gentle shake, but don't open. After 6-7 days, take out of fridge, let come to room temp for couple of hours. Then put in glas jar with hygrometer for 8-12 hours. If humidity above 75%, they go back in the fridge, next day, same game. If below, they are ready for curing outside the fridge. It's really simple and sooooo good, esp. when you can't control drying conditions. Check 420magazine thread as well, for more detailed info (search for Low and slow dry). Have a good day and let me know how it went β˜€οΈβœŒοΈ

@starke, The Lemon Pepper Steak!! πŸ‘πŸ˜„. I'm just wondering how the lemons are added to the baking soda mix?? Freshly squeezed, Grated?? Sounds like we're making a great cake πŸ˜‰....... It'll be great for me to try this with part of my harvest, I'm going to struggle to keep temps down during drying due to no air con so fridge drying would be perfect πŸ˜‹ Cheers Bud...

@starke, Thank you bro that really does mean alot. Yeah I didn't expect her to grow so tall I let her do her own thing apart from fimming. But I missed so she just got topped instead. Helped her to bish out. Waiting for my other tent to arrive so I can let her spread out abit.... I can't believe that is your second grow. That is real quality dude, I love the lst you did with them good canopy shape. Happy Growing dude!

Hi @Geordiejesus β˜€οΈdon't be so hard on yourself, your plant looks perfect for where she is 😍 They are all different. I never got a plant to really grow in height like yours, which I would like. On the other side, this is only my second Indoor run, so I'm not stressing out (well, I am, sometimes πŸ€ͺ) Have a good day and happy to see your LSD getting all fat and bulky βœŒοΈπŸƒ

starke
starkecommented5 years ago
Thanks @@YellowSubmarine β˜€οΈ and yes, definitely nice colors. In Week 9 in my diary, I added the bananas, see here: "I also added a yellow banana to each their pot. I'm quoting from here: https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/a-stoners-random-thoughts.277723/page-41#post-4131431 "Bananas, and in fact all ripening fruit, emits ethylene gas, which ramps up the ripening of the cannabis in flower." I'm all up for "bro-science" and love trying stuff like that." Happy growing ✌️

question! i noticed you start counting days differently from others i've seen...what do you wait to see until you can officially say "its day 1"?
starke
starkecommented5 years ago
Hi @briefbriefs β˜€οΈ I recently started doing this after reading it from a guy in a different forum and it made sense to me. Whenever the seedling first shows his head above soil, it's Day 1 of Seedling week. After exactly 1 week I then count it as Day 1 of Vegetation week. Hope that helps. Happy day πŸƒ
