Easy to grow, recommended. Heavy yields can be obtained with proper care. Two different expressions of genotypical tendencies, the shorter and the taller. Both sturdy and fit for scrogging. I will grow this again and again. Many say this is a day smoke. To me, a decent dose of this and a mandatory battle with mr Sandman follows. POTENCY IS NOTICEABLE.

Green Gelato to me, was a very easy to grow and resilient strain. It took extreme indoor temperatures and still produced a somewhat okay yield. I must say that I am disappointed in the yield, but the obvious reasons for this will be below. Reasons for a good looking, yet quite a small yield: - I topped twice and FIMmed from 4 places, each plant. This was too much and resulted in small buds - I experimented with a heavy defoliation for a first time and over did it - the canopy was truely very uneven, this was also due to my own fuck ups. Also two different style genotypes, other low and bushy, other lankier and taller. - the heatwave came, the last 3 weeks of flowering the HID lights were at 250 W power. - almost the whole flowering period was filled with evil temperatures and sadistic moisture levels All in all the top layer of buds across the screen are awesome. This strain is recommended for stealt using since the after smell of vaping or smoking it, is something that my decades of ganja use-friends, did not recognize as cannabis. Under the poor circumstances, well done Mrs Gelatos 😘 End product will now be cured in jars for as long as it takes for me to consume them. I'll be vaping as I go, now and tomorrow...cured or not. Drying process was 7 days of hanging in the dark. Main AC on for 15min every 3 hours for the first 3 days. Then 15 min on every 4 hours for 2 days. After that 15 mins every 8 hours for 2 days, then jar and cure whatever. Next screen is a lowered main screen with an added top screen. 3 Green Gelatos and 1 White Widow. I bet that I can get closer to 200 grams per plant on my next run...YES, LET'S DO IT ✊✊✊.

Hey all you hydro growers. I am switching from Advanced Nutrients root tribe(tarantula, voodoo, piranha) to ghe's subculture. How do they compare? If you have experience with these, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi there! I can recommend Great white premium mycorhizzae by Plant success. It has all the same stuff that AN root tribe but in powdery form and it lasts for a very very long time!

Great growing thus far πŸ‘... in the summer months I put a frozen bottle of water or ice pack (one or more as needed) to keep the nutrient solution temp down within a range of 19-21. Works fine for a number of hours and definitely would help your situation. Nutrient solution at 28*C would impact the oxygen available in the water unless ofcourse you're bubbling it away 😎

GanjaTorturercommented4 years ago
@HazeyBobby, that is good point regarding replacing hids with leds. My plan would be to try and use leds during summer months, when I can only use 250W per lamp on the high pressure sodium monsters and use 400W hid power during the colder months. We'll see how this develops. Good luck to your summer battle with heat. My new babies go into this grow tunnel in few weeks and as we know, in veg the girls handle more punishment than when flowering....

HazeyBobbycommented4 years ago
@GanjaTorturer, well that sounds like you got it under control πŸ‘ and yes I can only imagine your elec bills - I run a 245W LED and still twitch every month 😎 Nice you're so far along in the grow ... I'm holding my breath for the next 4 weeks of this summer to survive the heat waves I'm sure is coming 🀞 You're going to need some big LED to match your current 800W HID. I struggle with bud size purely from the light but it's all a learning experience :)

@HazeyBobby, thank you for kindness and yes it's a good idea. I actually started that yesterday! 1,5 litre frozen bottle of water goes in the main tank daily now. I circulate water in the plant tanks all the time the lights are on. It flows across the clay rocks and roots back into the tank. When lights are off, it circulates 4x15 minutes in 12 hr period. Also bubblers are on 24h in the plant tanks. Main tank has a recirc pump in there to stir the solution for 15 min every 4 hours. All this for molecular oxygen and fighting the heat waves of summer. Of course the bubbler blows warm air in there so... I admit, my system is batshit crazy when climate change style heat waves hit this nordic shit barrel. Last summer was hot and long, somehow the plants survived... By the way, my electric bill is something to behold 😑 Saving up for those leds.... πŸ˜‡

Dehumidifier on full throttle these last 2 weeks bud. Unless you already are doing that and still getting those numbers on RH. If so airflow airflow airflow. Either way some nice titties on them bitches. Im sure it smells lovely in there
GanjaTorturer
GanjaTorturercommented5 years ago
@MountainMike, few more days of ripening solution, then I empty the tanks and flush with H2O+ Ghe flora kleen - solution.

@GanjaTorturer, yeah i have my dehumid in the actual room not the tent . It would get to hot in the tent anyways with the hot dry air it spits out. I get my room rh in comfortable parameters and the tent follows suit. Hydroponics which i dont run but am intrigued to try, i think run a lil humid in general with all that water in the reservoir or buckets. Good luck with the harvest you in flush stage now?
GanjaTorturer
GanjaTorturercommented5 years ago
@MountainMike, agreed. Unfortunately I dont have a dehumidifier at hand. The growspace is so crammed that one would not probably fit in. I most definitely need to explore this avenue thoroughly. The fans are blowing like crazy 247. I have not had this high moisture since the previous strain just did not deliver this way... I live between two waters on a hill, surrounded by bigger hills, so at summer, it is extra moist.

What an awesome harvest - it really is good considering all your learnings πŸ‘ Hope you enjoy the after-curing party :) you are that much wiser now for the next crop

@GanjaTorturer, nice to hear πŸ‘ in my current grow, I only applied LST until the ScrOG net. I keep the plant under the net until the 2nd week of flowering which by then the stretch only has a few more inches which are above the net so the net acts as support as well. With this approach I don't have much to trim under the net and without defoliation the light hits a full canopy. I have an outdoor grow (not in diaries) which is mainlined then applied LST which I would definitely recommend under a ScrOG - that is going to be massive! The mainlining gives you a great base to grow horizontally from... for now - enjoy the inhaling πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

@HazeyBobby, thanks friend. We'll see how it goes, since I will go with two strains next run...πŸ˜‹ But yes, green gelato is now much more familiar to me. I am now sitting on a break from modificating the grow tunnel, and enjoying the harvest. This really is exiting stuff to inhale... In the grow tunnel, I lowered the screen as much as possible and am putting up another upper screen for support. Aiming for plants like yours, man! Gonna need the extra support Im hoping πŸ‘»

GanjaTorturer
GanjaTorturercommented4 years ago
@Neo09, thanks friend. Scrogging is a "fun" way of spending endless hours bending the plants. Few branches may break, but it is quite easy all in all. With a little practice a screen like mine can be done with no accidental losses. My girls will go into the main growing chamber hopefully on monday. Then it's gonna be scrog scrog scrog.

Don't pull out any hair ducking the root rot, bud rot, and brain rot. Your plants look great hope it lives up to its THC, and weight claims. Plants look great I have been concerned with res temp and see that your not having any problems with higher temperatures., I'll watch and learn Thanks πŸ‘πŸ˜³
GanjaTorturer
GanjaTorturercommented4 years ago
@Bluntblazer66, yeah. Lots of oxygen and beneficial microbes. ...I have to say that my budsize is not as impressive as the pics may indicate. I have learned a lot from this first run of green gelatos and will hopefully do better next time. My Scrog #2-diary will be detailing my growth and scrog tech as detailed as my lazy ass can deliver. Heh, most of my additives will be different from this run and also the beneficial in the tank will be ghe, not advanced nutrients. We'll see how that goes then πŸ˜‹ Oh, one more thing. Years ago, when I knew not about beneficials, I used only H2O2 in the tank. It was a dwc bubbler with constant restemp of 26 centigrade. I always loaded it withm18-21 C nutesolution, but by next day 26 it would be. Once a week I changed the solution and grew alot of dope in a small closet, no root problems then either ✊

@HazeyBobby, thanks, its my own design. Unfortunately the airflow isnt optimal since I had to remove an A/C-tube from the floor, it fed fresh air all along the floor. Then I went crazy and crammed the grow tunnel fuĺl of hydrocrap and now fans move all the air, the floor tube did not fit in. Compromises, compromises 😊
