10/5-10/11
10/6. Noticed deficiencies on the plants, thinking calcium/magnesium imo, so I fed the girls 6.2 PHd water with calmag. The most apparent deficiency is with one banana bomb. Additional Rookie blunder on the banana bomb I was fixing, I forgot to PH the water until mid way through. Gave her 7.2 water. Not end of the world but not what I want when trying to cure for def. so finished with corrected PH water. All in all, plants are getting really bushy which is perfect. Will do some LST later this week as new tops coming in.
10/8 the deficiencies are now widespread on all plants, thinking there was a serious misstep in watering. Its possible my PH was way down when watering since I wasnโt PH testing AFTER adding nutes and supps. Complete rookie mistake but at least I have some conclusion on the issues. Fed cups of water. Medium is drying out pretty bad. Top dressed with fresh soil. Did some LST as new tops are coming in. Topping worked great.
10/11 big feeding and watering today, fox farm veg, fox farm plant food, cal mag, sweet and sticky (to feed mycorrhizae and get sugars in there), and PH came to 6.2-6.4. Before I was PHing water then adding PH down, then adding notes and supps so everything was likely 5.0-5.5 which charts show cal mag def. rookie mistake. Girls tops are looking healthy, Iโll start defoliating dying leaves and hope this turns everything around. Gave about a gallon total liquid, not much runoff at all.
Hello, curious if anyone has thoughts on issues with plants. Thinking cal mag deficiency and/or overwatering. I wouldnโt rule out nute burn, chlorine issues, PH fluctuations. Some plants stunted, very small distance between nodes and leaf chutes.
Any advice for checking trichomes? I have a loupe but just purchased a digital microscope. Images look great, I can get really close up comfortably. Curious where on the plant one should look, multiple locations, etc. I think Iโm shooting for 10-20% amber.
Try to look at the part of the bud where pistils grow from, its green but its not a sugar leaf. Also consider that some buds may mature faster than others so you could harvest some before the others.
I haven't grow Banana and Blackberry..
But I can definitely tell you then the Dos Si Dos #33 will makes you happy ๐ฑ๐
Pay attention at the stickiness ๐ฅ๐
Have fun ๐๐ฑ
@Spider, hello! These ladies are currently sitting in 2 gallon fabric pots, and will transplant and finish in 5 gallon fab pots. Thanks for stopping by :)
I had a similar problem with my Banana Bomb in week 4 of veg. They seem to be more sensitive to ph imbalances then other strains. My other Delicious Candy plants got the same incorrect ph water for a couple days at the same time and they barely noticed it. I grow RDWC though so proper ph is vital. But ya, just wanted to let ya know it prob just ph and to pay extra attention to the ph for the Banana Bomb in my experience so far. Bad ph will lock out your nutes and do that to your leaves too.
@russrahl, good to know! Rookie mistake on my end on my first grow, but plants are looking healthier after correction. Just had to defoliate some nasty dying leaves but tops looking healthy. BBs got hit the hardest for sure. Thanks for stopping by :)
