3rd week defoliation!!!๐
Having some great growth from Wedding Cake... as you can see, even after all the transplanting, topping, bending, and clipping....WC can take it and more! She is stacking nicely with some very nice white hats on top. All eight arms are relatively the same height and she likes to drink.
Since she is such a tough cake๐... I'm doing a nice and heavy defoliation to see how well she bounces back. I have tried this on different strains, some like it... some don't. We will definitely know if WC likes it by week 6.๐
I removed all of the fan leaves I left behind when I clipped the shoots and also any big leaves that are covering any bud. I know some will scream NOOOOooo๐ฑ!!! It's ok.... it's for testing purposes!๐๐
She's drinking 2-3L every 3-4 days... she should be drinking more, and I know she will as soon as I leave her ass alone.
I believe her stretch is close to being over... she's around 23" inches. She's also in the center of both the lights which are about 18" inches above her.
Since I had nuts on the other one and got rid of it๐ก, I have two clones taking it's place. I topped one and fim'ed the other the same day I switched them to 12/12 (one week after I switched their mother)... never done that before so should be interesting to see....
I'm going to have my cake and eat it too...๐๐ ๐ต
Stay safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
@Blacklisted, In my past grows, I had more larf (small buds, popcorn buds) then I wanted. After alot of research of different training methods, and from my own experiences... I believe by removing the larf within the first 3-4 weeks of flower, that it will direct all the growing energy towards the tops... whether it be the main colas or the satellite arms. That way, you end up with bigger and tighter nugs.
In previous grows, if I removed the larf, I usually snipped the fans leaves as well. This time, I'm leaving them to help with the shock and to have more area for light absorption. I will remove any big leaves if they are in the way of buds growing and if I need better air flow.
This is my first test with this type of training to see if it truly works.
Happy Growing!๐
