12/20 - Day 36 / Day 8 Flower Installed a screen so I could start tucking leaves, spread out the canopy and control the growth of my tops. I've come to the realization that my tent is entirely too short so I need to aggressively limit the height of my plants. My 5 gallon girls are growing like gangbusters, adding on an inch or two per day. Looking healthy and happy. **************************************************** 12/21 - Day 37 / Day 9 Flower All the tops I tucked yesterday would not let me hold them down long. The main top on my Z51 was horizontal under the screen and already grew enough to bend back upright. These girls have proven to be quite resilient. The pots were a little on the dry side so I went ahead and watered/fed them. It's clear they are much thirstier than they were in earlier weeks. I could usually stretch a soaked pot for 4 days without watering during weeks 1-5. This time, my pots were almost dry on day 2 after a soak. Given the amount of vigorous growth I'm seeing, I decided to boost my feeding solution to about half of the recommended strength. My solution consisted of: - 1 gallon distilled water - 3ml CalMag - 2tsp of FF Big Bloom (2/3 dose) - 1tsp of FF Grow Big (1/2 dose) - 1tsp of FF Tiger Bloom (1/2 dose) The pH of the solution clocked in at 6.4 and the EC meter gave a reading of 1220ppm. I gave each of my 5 gallons about a half gallon of water each which wasn't enough to produce runoff. I gave about 4oz of water to each of my bonsais. They are still showing a lime green tint on the top leaves while many of the bottom leaves are continue to yellow and get mottled - that said, they do look better than days past. **************************************************** 12/24 - Day 39 / Day 11 Flower Pots were pretty dry when I woke up. I tried to delay watering as long as possible so that I could give my girls a good soak before I left for a few days to visit family for Christmas. Gave each of the 5 gallon pots about a half gallon of pH'd tap water (left to de-cholorinate for about 96 hours) and about 4-8oz of water to my bonsais. While I was away, I had a little difficulty trying to maintain my environment within the 75-80 degree temperature and 45-65 humidity range. The humidity got as high as 65% to low as 25% within a 24 hour period. **************************************************** 12/26 - Day 41 / Day 13 Flower Returned home and found my plants were thriving despite the large swings in humidity over the prior 48 hours. Before I left for Christmas, I rearranged the fans so that I had one stationary fan pointed directly at the fabric pots (for better under canopy circulation), another stationary fan was just above the bud sites and an oscillating fan hung from the corner of the tent ceiling. While I think this will provide better circulation going forward, the under canopy fan appears to be drying out the soil a bit faster than expected. When I returned home, each of the pots was quite dry. I gave each of the 5 gallon pots about a half gallon of pH'd, dechlorinated tap water with 3ml of Cal-Mag. I gave my bonsais about 4-8oz. My bonsais really bounced back with sugar leaves all appearing to develop darker green hues. Additionally the bonsais experienced a bit of stretch stretch period during my time way- adding about 50% more height. Performed some minor defoliation to open up the top of the canopy and get more light to the under canopy.

Hi mate, the first thing that come to mind when i saw your leaves is overwater. This droopiness to me is a sign that the plant in not getting oxygen. From the large fan leaf on the pic see that there is also a ph imbalance. So my course of action would be, first to let the soil dry out, and see if the leaves go back to their normal position (like praying) all up. Then I would flush the medium with a phed water. If all go well those leaves that were affected wont recover but the plant will

I love the bonsai pot idea! I’ll be checking in on this, I got the same ILGM zkittlez auto seeds in an comparison between a 5 gallon pot and 1 qt pot going right now.. good luck. PS I’ve never used FF ocean forest but my understanding is it is quite “hot” or full of a lot of fertilizers so that could have been the issue in the beginning. My understanding is that the seedling has all it needs nutrient wise stored within itself for the first 7-10 days at least.

@SmokeableHobby, yeah that green wire is def my favorite way to train for sure. Experimenting with different training techniques is fun too.. just different ideas and ways to get light to the lower canopy and manipulate the natural structure/growth of the plant in general. Let me know if you need any ideas

@Ezzjaybruh, I do the exact same thing...just sit in front of my tent and stare mindlessly at my plants. Meditating on their progress. I took your advice and ordered some of the green training wire - great stuff! Started experimenting with LST. Will post my progress in the next week.

@SmokeableHobby, hahaha good point.. I was the same way on my first grow, peeking under my DWC at the roots every hour and sometimes just still just sit in front of the tent doing nothing but staring at them. As far as LST products, the main thing is being able to secure whatever you are using to the pot, and that may be hard with those bonsai pots.. I just use the green plastic coated wires, they are real nice. Then there are these cool yo yo type devices I got on Amazon that you can attach to the poles on your tent and they have like fishing wire you connect to your plant..

@Lazuli, I also had a CREE COB LED (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B8T8C72) in the tent that put off another 100w. I was using this light exclusively for my bonsais but then my 5 gallons grew way bigger than I thought they would and ended up using the CREE for supplemental light once I was a week or two into flower.

Looking good! I’ve personally started to wait until the bottom of the plant has a bit more rigidity such that it can remain somewhat upright while the top nodes are bent over - before I start training but certainly no harm starting early! It all depends what you are trying to accomplish - even tho frankly I’m usually just winging it and seeing how it reacts haha. It is amazing how quickly they tilt back up towards the light tho huh?

@Ezzjaybruh, appreciate the encouragement, I sure hope it clears up. Learning a lot from this experience but will be really bummed if I can't turn things around before harvest. Feels like these deficiencies came out of nowhere and at the worst possible time. Hope things turn around for you as well!

I swear it’s crazy the few times I’ve gone on a vacay for even days while growing, my plants seem to thrive and grow quicker.. probably just in my head but it’s always cool to not see them for a few days and return to see all the growth that has occurred. Looking good tho!

@Ezzjaybruh, you're so right - I had that same thought when I came back and saw the progress. It's kind of a ego-check. Here I am paying all this attention to my plants, thinking I am curating conditions for their optimal growth and then I come back after a few days of basically ignoring them and they look better than ever. I suppose it is called "weed" for a reason. It will grow despite our best efforts...not necessarily because of them haha. Gotta admit the week 8 report for your 5g Zkittlez has me feeling all kinds of impatient. Love seeing those calyxes and sugar leaves starting to frost up... an encouraging sign of things to come!
