In weeks 3 & 4 I had a mishap with the PH level and the beautiful large fan leaves showed signs of nutrient deficiencies and PH fluctuation. I thought it would only get better from there because I paid a lot of attention to the plants and measured the PH exactly before each feed. Unfortunately, I noticed even greater signs of stress around day 29/30. Most leave tips started to wilt and dry off. The scariest thing was when I noticed that the tiny new growth sites became gray and died off. I read a lot about signs of stress and came to the conclusion that it must be a nutrient deficiency and/or PH fluctuation. I couldn't explain it because I had measured the PH level meticulously. Then I had the thought that the PH meter might be out of scope and might need recalibration. Upon recalibration I came to the conclusion that the PH meter must have been out of scope by almost 1 full point, giving a too high reading. Now I had an explanation about the issues I was seeing on the plants but I was worried that the stress was too high already. I took the Biobizz advice and sprayed the plants twice with a solution of acti-vera and fish-mix plus I watered with a PH of 6,3 after calibrating the PH meter even though watering wasn't quite necessary yet. But I decided that trying to correct the PH level was more important than waiting another two days before watering. The decision seemed to pay off. The plants recovered more and more from day to day and even the new growth sites seem to recover well. I now have some signs of overwatering but that will sort itself out as well within the next few days. I need to switch to flowering because I am running out of space but I will wait another 3 - 6 days in the hope that the plants will recover even more in order to handle the switch better. I seem to be on a good path even though the plants do not look as beautiful as they could. Lets hope for the best for the next weeks.
