I can say if the plant all of a sudden is drinking 1/2 or less of what it normally has been drinking in same period of time, it's probably dying and near the end. Try zooming in with phone if you don't have a jewelers loupe. Use google image for a reference on trichome color. Read up on what harvest at various points is supposed to impact the buzz, then trial and error to find what you like best regardless of what "they" say. But, it gets you in the ballpark.
