Training is fine. Might want to leave a bit more foliage during growth, unless you ar ealready blooming her.
You want an even canopy. Looks to be accomplished.
removing a leaf during vegetative phase should be done less often and for more specific and causal reasons. Make sure it prevents bad stretch of a relevent branch. don't try to save anything buried or that has to grow an entire foot horizontally before it can grow horizontally etc etc... how big of a plant you grow will impact your methods too. A bigger plant is difficult to shape in a way that lowest branches are anything but trash later, but not so much with a smaller plant. they slowly get fewer resources as the plant increases in size, even if you do your best to keep it even with canopy - has to do with vascular tissue at that point, not light.
