Hey mate ; you could start it as soon as it reaches 4 to 5inches in height and the main stem is still soft. Do not wait longer as they tend to get harder once they enter vegitative stage from seedling. Also if you notice that the main stem is too soft at 5 inches ;just tie a support at the bottom of main stem in opposite direction of your preferred LST to give it supoort and strength.

What are u looking to do with the plant? Tie it over? If so ur lady is ready for something like that. All depend on what technique your doing. For suitable start time.

After you have your 5th node is when training or topping is suggested. This gives them time to build that strong root structure to deal with the stresses that can come along with training! Cheers and happy growing! ๐

Well FML, pop goes the main stem.Trying to bend a little bit more, then that dreaded sound, "pop". Like snapping a fresh carrot it is the sound of heart break.
The tie had likely weakened that part of the stem, shouldn't be so aggressive.
Any suggestions on how to nurse this break and mend my broken heart?

LST during flowerIs it okay to still perform LST during flowering? I've Been doing some very minor defoliation on tiny bud sites down low that aren't getting any light. I want to tie down some more branches but I also don't want to stress it too much at this stage. Just one week into flowing.
