For the past week I've been going back and forth thinking my plant is diseased or not getting what it needs or whatever I'm still not sure. It is growing but doesn't look as pleasing to the eye as I would expect or like. Leaves are slightly dry and rippled or wrinkled however you put it. The plant is now 3 weeks old from seed being planted. I have another plant now 2 weeks old which looks much healthier. Pictures of both are above. I am partially torn between riding out both of them or just keeping the younger girl. Any ideas on what I should do? Hate to get rid of one but if it will give the healthier girl more chance to prosper maybe it is the right move. Also curious if either appears ready for fimming or topping or any other techniques that may help. Being my first time ever growing anything, I am undoubtedly running into many uncertainties as I want to maximize their potential. Spit some knowledge please and thanks Halfway thru the week and I decided I wanted to try and top the plant which I did. Also applying LST but while fooling with the plant I broke a stem. Hopefully the two together are not too stressful to her. Curious though if I should apply the LST so that the broken stem side is in the light or if its done for.

During the vegetative stage, young plants prefer a high humidity (70% or more) and temperatures between 68-77°F (20-25°C). However, as the plant gets older, a slightly lower humidity is okay. This is more of an issue for indoor grown plants, as outdoor grown plants are able to withstand more temperature fluctuations. The ideal temperature during the vegetative stage is between 68-77°F (20-25°C) with moderate humidity while also providing slightly cooler temperatures during dark periods. The cooler ‘night’ periods are perfect for encouraging growth. Don’t let temperatures drop below 59ºF (15ºC). Once the plant matures, it should be able to withstand cooler temperatures during the day and drier air as well. Once your plant reaches the flowering stage, it can thrive at a comfortable room temperate with low humidity. Unless you are adding additional CO2 to your grow room, a temperature under 82°F (28°C) is ideal. These lower temperatures encourage potent, trichome rich buds that you can smell and enjoy before you burn them. Don’t go over 82°F (28°C) because higher temperatures cause terpenes to evaporate and they also slow bud growth. If your buds are too hot during this time, you may be literally burning away the good stuff as they grow, leaving very little taste or smell by the time of harvest. Be especially careful to keep it comfortable for your plant after week 6 or 7. This is when terpene production is at its max, and you risk evaporating them due to high heat. For optimal trichome production, make sure it is slightly cooler during the dark periods. The change in temperature may trigger increased terpene content as it optimizes plant processes. Just don’t make it too cold. Happy Growing!

How stressful is it for the youngin when you accidentally break a stem trying to do LST? Do they grow back?

It's stressful to break at any time, but when they're young they can regenerate better than anything a flowering plant could accomplish. You can attempt to piece it back together with tape and various wraps and prop up the piece to hold the weight....and if it doesn't heal, it's kinda the equivalent of doing a "top" and hopefully it'll split into 2 new shoots.

Oh snap! That is a gnarly break! You weren't kidding!😲 I have had a very bad break before...it basically snapped my plant in half..😄 fortunately it was a photoperiod plant and still had leaves and branches to work with and grow from. The only advice I can give is to be careful with the hole because sometimes debris or disease can get in there and cause a big problem. So you might want to put something over it, especially since it looks dry and sort of healing up. You've still got 4 good branches to work with and grow off, it's just some extreme HST now.😁 P.s with the plant that has large fan leaves...remove some if they're blocking the light...everything keeps growing as long as you stay in veg, once you flip to 12/12 then you may want to choose your moves carefully. Mistakes make us better growers, enjoy it.✌️ Happy growing.

Many people run a 24 hour schedule...but personally i think all living things benefit from sleep. They could most likely be fine when you get back...especially if you slowly increase the hours before you leave and then when you come back gradually bring them down an hour or 2 each day. Its the drastic ups and downs that will trigger hermies. But again you're in veg and those can handle more abuse. But personally I'd pop down to home depot or any garden center and pickup a cheap timer...even Walmart has them if your in the usa. Also they will need to be full on soaking wet right before leaving, and possibly reduce the airflow so they won't dry as fast. 👍

I use 2 TS1000's during flower and the plant love it. I don't see how using the TS1000 + the sp150 would hurt. I'd recommend using in flower unless your temps are getting too high. With 2 TS1000s at 100% my tent doesn't break 81f with 195cfm of air flow in and 150cfm of airflow out for positive pressure.

On really dry soil, it is best to water a small amount, wait about an hour, and then continue to slowly water more as the soil saturates. If the plants are looking alright after the watering, it won't be the end of the world to wait a day, or re-water as long as you don't go over kill an have good drainage.

They will nearly double in size.. if that's too much you better go to 12-12 immediately. If that's the case, maybe top the most dominant vertical shoots back to ~even and in the ~3+weeks of growth left after 12-12 switch those sites topped have plenty of time to grow in and be useful. i'd only do this if very concerned. it could reduce yield a bit, but could also avoid running out of space.. which would improve your yield immensely, lol.. i know sounds conflicting. 2 weeks should be plenty to heal, but do inspect it a bit. you can try HST too.. bend it down horizontal where it is too tall. tape up the stem where it snaps a bit.

Erm depends do you want too stress your girls in the flower stage ? personally I find it tempting fate when it comes to herms. So I don't do it at all after I flip. I use netting to spread the plant out move it rather than cut it. depending on how you have trained her. she will shed the crappy leaves herself she knows what she needs and she knows what she can do without. Alot of growers will say you can defoliate right up to 6 weeks flower. though I have never done it myself if the buds are getting light thats all i care about and if you have a some what level canopy and under canopy. You willl get proper light distribution and evenly sized colas the right way through. At the end of the day everybody grows differently and its very hard to get the that even canopy in my experience so if you want to defoliate my closest advice would be no more than 3 weeks into flower then you seriously end up stressing your lady. though this is dependant on the type of defoliation you are doing if its just fan leaves then you can take them off at any stage if you wish. bottom branches and bud sites are really where you would stress her to a point she may slow down on you or try to make seed instead of bud.

Hey Growmie, In general, you should strive to keep temps under 80°F (26°C) throughout the flowering stage, and especially towards the crucial second half when buds are in the midst of development. The temperature in the flowering stage is too important to ignore. That’s because keeping temps low during the flowering stage will help your plants produce the most potent, dense, smelly, and trichome-covered buds as possible. Unfortunately, higher temperatures during the flowering stage can cause plant problems and slowed bud growth. It can also cause terpenes and potency to evaporate into the air. What that means is if your buds stay too hot during the flowering stage, the higher temperature may accidentally be burning away some of your terpenes and cannabinoids (reducing the final taste/smell/potency of your buds after harvest). Hopefully, this was helpful and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

Hey! No worries! Your girls are looking nice, healthy and in full flower! 😍 Nothing to fix, just sit back and watch her flower. Hairs are pretty much all standing straight. So that means you've got quite some time left. Give them nice nutrients, right amount of water, much love and they'll reward you with nice dense buds. I'd say about 8-9 weeks.. In week 7 when you start seeing more amber hairs start looking at the trichomes to calculate harvest. Good luck and Happy Growing!😃🌱🌿🌲

Hey friend You're looking great! You could defoliate some of those larger leaves, but really your plants are looking healthy and strong and not overly bushy. So personally I would leave the leaves since you still need them to help those buds get even more fatty. If you can see a few leaves that i can't that are really blocking things up...snip those few and then leave all that photosynthetic real estate to do it's bulk building job.👍

Hey friend, I like seedsman, I've had about the same success rate with them as with other breeder's. Unfortunately I have found a few autoflower breeder's who definitely outshine all the other's but they still have good quality seeds. You shouldn't need to change any autoflowers to a 12/12 schedule, if you do then they're probably the rare seed that lost the auto gene or possibly got mislabeled by accident and put in an autoflower package. All of their autos are going to have different time lines depending on the parent strains usually. Usually I've found my autos can be somewhere between 50-80 days from seed. Try looking up the specific strain on seedsmans site and it may be able to give you a little more specific timelines you can expect. But even those are still gonna be estimates. Happy growing. ✌️ *this weeks photos look great for this diary, she's getting some pretty flowers. 💜🌱

Depends on the type of high you want. Regardless of terpenes and genetics if you harvest with milky thrichomes its the peak of the effects you get sedative and active high. If you wanted fully active high, well, its about time now, as when you get cloudy/clear/amber all at the same time being the majority of them cloudy, you get the widest spectrum of effects. If you want it basically fully sedative, just hold on for a couple weeks untill its fully amber crystals and you got it. Its up to you. I like to harvest them at a point where some might say its a premature harvest, but i know what i'm aiming for, it just blast my mind everytime, since i need to be active and can't even risk couchlock i harvest with clear crystals. I get less yield but i get the high i want, and its better to get 70% of what you like than 100% of what you don't really want. Stay well, and good growing growmie (Copy pasted from myself because this answer comes up like 3 times a day everyday)

the coffeeshops suppliers probably DO dry in completely dark place to decrease any chance of mold as most people can't follow each plant for the whole cicle. Its safer to do it that way. It surely doesn't hurt. Light does degrade THC, but it will take light alone quite a while to degrade your THC to any noticable level. If you have a place to dry your buds in the dark, do so. If not, its REALLY not a big deal. Dan, we ran a taste test for coke consumers to see if they can tell which type of coke is which. Only people that drink coke more than once a day could participate. From 200 people maybe 2 could tell which brand is which. (and 99% of the people HATED the coca cola zero. That was before they were exposed to advertisments) People like to believe they could tell the difference in things they regularly consume. That doesn't mean its true. I know of a test some people i knew made giving people in the mall 2 glasses of wine. One of a pretty good quility that costs quite a bit per bottle and one from a 3 bucks a liter bottle and told the people tasting it that each brand was the opposite. 85% of the people liked the glass with the actual cheaper brand. ****McFonz from rollitup*****

Depends on how you feel about the taste of chlorophyll I suppose. If you don't really care about it, then oven at a low enough setting so the THC doesn't vaporize, and it should be done in maximum a couple of hours. Mine waa doing it early this morning seems like growdiaries is doing some maintenance to the website, it even says the website is off sometimes when refreshing. It did however go back to normal after a few hours. If it doesn't change contact @growdiaries. Hopefully I answered your question and remember Happy Growing and Free your mind one puff at a time.

After smoking these plants I've noticed that #2 has kinda a bad taste even tho it smells alright. Why is this? premature? not flushed right? Just curious so I don't make these mistakes again.

It could be something as simple as your fan when drying them. - If air circulation is a bit rough, it'll dry them faster and leave more chlorophyll behind. Try curing them. It might help. Tho could be other things.

After this grow, I separated a few of the smaller nugs(3.5g)& stuck them n freezer. Been 3 bout 4 months, wonder if I can use them for anything? Im out of bud to smoke so mayb I can dry& smoke it... or can/should I press it? if I dry&smoke, will it take longer or shorter dry?

If it was fresh when you put it in the freezer it will be fresh still when you thaw it. You could dry it and smoke it, would take several days I imagine without anything speeding it up. I wouldn’t try pressing fresh bud though, didn’t turn out good for me when I tried it. Lol apparently if you press it frozen though with no heat and high pressure it will produce good quality rosin. With heat though it just goes all mushy and disgusting watery ozz is all that will come out. Lol the best quickish way I’ve found to dry fresh bud is to place it on top of a stereo amplifier or tv receiver or some kind of electronic device with heat vents on top. These devices are very dry inside and vent the dry warm air out though the vents drying your bud without high heats and fairly quick. Still takes several hours, but better then days..lol hope this helps! Cheers💨

When pressing rosin, will the resulting texture vary heavily among stains , or is it based mostly on the heat, pressure, and size micron bag ?

to be honest, pressing is not easy at all. as you said, heat, pressure, and micron bag size affect a lot, but also the strain you're playing with, the heads of the trichomes, the drying and separation of those heads from the material. if you can, run 2-3 different ways to see the results: even a small change can add more flavour to your extraction! good luck !!!

Haha sorry my Google speech didn't handle that well. You must have ruderalis genes aka autoflower. Buy some "regular" auto seeds with male and females. And then breed...you could cross that auto with a photoperiod but then you'll have to grow and find the autos.

Considering that the biggest weight gain in the buds happen the last 2 weeks, flushing too early can leave the plants without nutrients to make the buds fatten, specially if you harvest early

@@Athos, I probably aint got but 1 maybe 2 more waters w/ Nutes b4 flush I would assume by the way the have been needing water only 2-3x a week.Dont have any amber trichomes yet but will soon I assume.

Yes it is completely normal. Once you put them into jards to cure, the smell will come back with a vengeance.

A smaller bud will dry in a couple of days. When I do this I put it at the top of the grow space in a paper bag.

It's a great temperature and rH, you'll have no problems

Wet or dry soil has nothing to do with harvesting, it will not affect how quick the plant dries. The plant takes a few months to be ready, nothing you do in the last 2 days will change the end result, there is no sense in going dark before harvest.

a digital microscope. They are a great option, but rather expensive.

thricomes have 3 stages: clear, white / cloudy, amber. Clear thricomes are not yet mature, cloudy are at their peak THC content and amber are degrading. The best harvesting time is cloudy where you get the best of your strain. Amber thricomes are by definition less potent than when cloudy.

Unless you plan to keep the plant going longer, there is no point in doing so, since the plant will not really take advantage of the aditional feedings.

The pistils not always turn color when the thricomes are ready. Sometimes they turn mucho earlier or never.

Too bad about the broken branch, but it happens and the plant will recover. The large fan leaves are a good thing and provide a lot of energy! If you are worried about blocked light and there is a growth tip getting covered you can just tuck the large leaf under the new growth so the plant's auxins (light sensitive growth hormones) encourage growth on that lower branch. Happy growing, they are coming along!
