Looks good. Early defoliation is about avoiding unwanted stretch on any growth.
Try to preserve total area of leaf coverage. This will quickly fill in if slightly reduced, initially.
Don't take off more than 1/3rd to avoid potential shock.
Don't take off all leaves at any 1 node. Maybe, there's an exeption to this, but it'd be rare.
Stick to that and you really can't make a mistake.
