defoliation: autoflower faux pas?

i've heard these girls are extra sensitive and that it's best to "tuck leaves" rather than defoliate - but ugh, don't you just end up with a jungle bush? am I risking hurting them with moderate defoliating?

Hi! I'm growing two autos for the first time and I massively defoliated them a few times and they really couldn't care less... Obviously you must let them rest after defoliating. I usually do it in the evening (I grow outdoor) so they have all night to recover.

Autos only have so long to grow up so the more stress the smaller it will be, come flower time. Cheers

I have read conflicting reports in some cases stating that it will stress the plants and even reduce yeild rather than increase? Any links that include pics would be appreciated. Hi there? What is the earliest one can remove large fan leaves. Usually I would not remove fan leaves till Pruning time. However, my plants leaves are massive at 4 weeks and are covering larger parts of the plant. At the same time they are doin’ the job. TIA
