There's a few different ways to tell when its close to getting ready to harvest . Firstly most strains are 9 week flowering time not all but most . A good way to tell would be to look at your buds with a 60-100x microscope they sell them on amazon for like 3$ When you look at it through the microscope you will see your thrichomes some of them will clear some of them will be milky and some of them amber when your buds start to become 5-10% amber you have roughly one week left before you could harvest . This isn't to say you cant harvest sooner or later . I just find that it's the optimal time to harvest . You will also notice a significant increase of the size of the flowers you have on your plant . Another good way to tell is by looking at the "hairs" on your bud when they start turning colour that means the trichomes are developing to their maximum . So more orange hairs more likely its close to harvest if the hairs are all white then its not even close to time to harvest . At the end of the day tho its all up to you . I hope this information serves you well in becoming a master :)

I start flushing when most trichomes are milky. Two week flush but sometimes longer. You'll have amber trichomes and it's up to you how much amber you want. I'd rather flush earlier than later.

Well, it's a long ways off but you can figure it out by two methods. First, check the estimated harvest date given by the seed breeder/vendor to get a ballpark figure. Secondly, inspect the buds for signs of ripeness, such as pistil (hair) darkness & trichome coverage. Once the buds are ripe you have a 2-week window to decide when to harvest based on what kind of effects you want. This is based on trichome color. You'll need a magnifying glass or jeweler's loupe to see them up close, but you want to harvest when the trichomes are tall & mushroom-shaped (bulbous) with a milky white color...maybe a few amber or dark ones if you like a more sedated high. Make sure to check the trichomes on the calyx, not the leaves since they mature much faster. New growers tend to harvest about 2-3 weeks too early, so if in doubt, wait another week or two before chopping. You can start your flush a week before harvest by just feeding plain pH'ed water with no nutrients, but flushing is not necessary for the safety or quality of your end product. It's more of an old wives' tale or individual preference. I just do a quick ice water flush a couple days before harvesting mine. 👍

Hi @Steve420! When your plant goes into flower you will see those lovely nugs growing and getting bigger and bigger.. soon as all those WHITE pistil hairs turn color, I would get a jewelers loupe to see those trichomes on the buds. They will start out clear, then cloudy, then amber. I personally like to grow them out till I feel they can't get no bigger then I start the water/flush. I just flush with ph water, triple the amount of my growing medium. And I will flush feed her water for like 2 weeks before chop. I noticed this last time that I didn't water 2 days before harvest and the plant was much easier to trim and I didn't have to wait on the cure to taste the nugs... she was kick ass off the plant, no lie. Good luck and if you have questions, keep asking... we were all noobs at the beginning. Witchy wishes for a Killer Grow!

Hello @Steve420. By checking the trichomes with a microscope like this one ( https://www.amazon.com/Forrader-Pocket-Microscope-Currency-Detector/dp/B00JEKXBQ2 ) . When you see the first amber trichomes its time to flush. Usually depending from the conditions after about a week sometimes two they are ready to harvest. Harvest when the trichomes are 80% milky-20% amber for a head high and 80% amber-20% milky for a body stone feeling. Happy growing ! 👊

When the calyxes swell, then you are a week before harvest. The calyxes are the little balls things on the buds where seeds would form if the plant was pollinated

only way to really tell is to check the trychomes, you want to kinda of gage the rate of them getting cloudy, then when they're mostly cloudy like 70/80%, you'll want to do a 2 week flush in soil. you can plenty of time and any number of things can push the date forward or backwards a couple of weeks, but two more weeks than what's advertised is usually a safe bet in case you're planning around the grow. hope this helps ! 🚀
