Composted soil and pH

I read that using composted soil you don't need to stress about pH too much. My water tank gives water at 7.7. Run-off is fairly similar. Should i be trying to adjust this down a little before watering?

Hello With a living soil situation it is true that worrying about ph isn't as crucial because the soil already has buffering capacity and naturally handles fluctuations. However that doesn't mean you should disregard it completely. Knowing your starting water is very important and checking the runoff periodically too is good. If your plants look vibrant and healthy throughout the grow then you know the soil is doing its job well....if you start seeing abnormalities and discoloration though you may want to act and give it a little help. My outdoor garden I've started to use either a sulfur product or a dolomite lime to help keep the soil ph a touch lower..my water ph tends to bounce somewhere between 8.2-7.4.

Yes you should adjust your ph, going in and coming out. Your ph is the most important part of keeping proper. 6.3 6.8 is best to keep everything going properly. Checking your runoff keeps everything in check...Cheers friend
