Hi guys, I noticed a couple Gnats around my plants, (not the main baby's thank the lord), basically I'm looking to transplant the plants tomorrow, was just wondering if it would help kill any baby gnats if I potted the plant an couple inches deeper?
Unfortunately, it really wouldn't make much difference. Luckily, they're easy to kill. Warm water with some apple cider vinegar and a bit of soap in a cup will lure them to their deaths. Or half a banana in a cup from a fast food place. Poke the straw hole so it's open a bit. They'll fly in and get trapped.
Nematodes are best combat for gnats. Used them on my investation and within a week the numbers are down to a couple and expect nothing in few more days.
A cheap solution is put a 1/2 inch layer of Damascus earth on top of your soil.
