Not sure if there is a better method! If you want peace of mind, google tree grafting. People basically cut off a branch of one strain of apple tree, for example, and attach it onto another strain using just tape. The branches fuse together and grow well. :)

I did the same thing and it worked pretty well.
My plant was hitten by a bird which tried to eat her (or smoke ahahah I don't know). She it had been cut in half.

Advice on defoliation/LST - getting too chaotic hereIs it fine to cut off some of the big fan leaves this early or should i just tie them down to expose the tops to more light? The stem usually branches out to 2 branches, one of which is just one big leaf and the other branch has nodes & other branches.
Do you put the branch with the big leaf below the rest, above or prune it?
