Look up cmh verses Led. Less power consumption with cmh, bigger and nicer and harder nugs than led. Went to led and left led very quickly. Hard to go backwards, meaning nice huge rock hard nugs, compared to led.

I prefer full spectrum LED for all stages. It's the most similar to the sun. - If you want specialized tho, you'll need a broad range of blue spectrum for vegetation, and red spectrum for flowering. (You can google the "nm" numbers for that.) Or you can go HID for both, they're usually cheaper to purchase, but use more electricity.

All depends on what room size you have for watts preferred. 1000 watt MH FOR veg and HPS for flower would be sufficient for a 5 by 6 foot area. 600 watt for a 4x4 foot area or 315 watt cmh for a 4x4 foot area 630 watt cmh for a 5x6 foot area. Cmh runs a little cooler than hid and has the closest spectrum to the sun if you get full nova bulbs for them. Cheers
