If a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol can't scrub it off... maybe heat-related? Possibly, either something from air or singed a bit? beginning of rust? again, reaction with O2. process of elimination.. not too many likely possibilities i don't think. Is it under warranty? send a note to them if so asking what to do.

Looks like resin but unless your plants hit your lights dont think it be it. But I'd clean it with light alcohol clothe if you can still safe for your plants

I have some spots like that on my King LED 1200w I’ve been running for a few years now. The led inside seems to work but the plastic bubble shield covers over a few leds have burned black over time. Think it is just heat releated and the fact we run them 18hr strait sometimes, day in and out. Mines not under warranty anymore so I just use it for a backup light. But if yours is still under I would contact Mars hydro for sure. Cheers!💨
