Any black soil with proper pH level (5.0 - 6.5) is alright.
Get some perlite too, mix it with your soil (80% soil, 20% perlite). Also make a perlite layer 1-2 cm thick at the bottom of your pot - it helps draining.

Problem measuring EC. Is it my measuring device? Or maybe my measuring method? Im very confused. Help please!!I ve performed several EC readings in water comming off my pot when I water and they always give very high values: 3.5 to 4.5. People told me it shoudnt be higher than 2.5. unexp w coco, when to give more water?how do i know when to give my plant more water? theres one i have that i do not currently have a diary for and ive mixed coco, soil and perlite for it (abt 45/35/20, in 11L pot, didnt exactly measure but had to use a bit more coco than soil) and im not experienced with coco.

Did I need to size up to larger rockwool cubes?Geminated seeds in 1x1x1 rockwool cubes. End state is to be in 5 gallon buckets with 8" net pot and clay pebbles. I figured the roots are too small to reach all the way into water solution still so put small cubes into 4x4x4 rockwool. Did I need to use larger cubes?

soil not accepting waterSo last Sunday I watered in a little less than a gallon for each, in 7-gallon pots. the bottom is soaking wet, but about 1/2 inch down the soil seems bone dry. Medium is FF ocean forest and SOHUM Super soil at the bottom. the plants are showing over/underwatered. What do i do??6y ago

slowly drying soil VS transplanting autoflower (Day22)bad idea to transplant my autoflowers (day 22, entering preflower) now that I’ve realized the substrate (Biobizz Lightmix) is too compacted and takes 6–8 days to dry? What else can I do? I know transplanting causes stress, but isn’t slow-drying soil an even bigger problem? thanks
