It's more of a choice and experience really because Rockwool blocks are just a soilless substrate or growing medium.

uhm sure they do, some even do NFT in a 2'x4' it's not a problem , just a choice. My thing with rockwool is that it doesnt work as well as a normal root plug, but it does become necessary when you want to grow sterile. hope this helps ! 🚀

I got a dehumidifier to regulate and keep the humidity in 50%.
When i opend the deposit of the water of the dehumifier i found these little flies that are the classic Substrate fly (nasty but no harm).
Do yall think that the dehumidifier got them? Has this even happened to U6y ago

Optimal pH for solution, when growing in 70% Promix BX, 30% perlite.I'm having trouble finding reliable info regarding what to pH my nute solution to, I read that some like to look at it as hydro (technically soilless), and others view it as soil (due to being preloaded). So 5.5 - 6 or 6 - 6.5? HELP have done full grow using 5.5-6, peep the grow.Week 1

Problem measuring EC. Is it my measuring device? Or maybe my measuring method? Im very confused. Help please!!I ve performed several EC readings in water comming off my pot when I water and they always give very high values: 3.5 to 4.5. People told me it shoudnt be higher than 2.5. Clay pebbles at the bottomI'm thinking using this like maybe an half inch in 4 gallon fabric pot - for better airflow for roots & to prevent overwatering. They absorb the excess well and give off slowly.
Been doing this with my normal plants at home and it works well for them. Anyone with experience?

PH rise in DWCI'm having serious problems with the water PH. My tap water it's around 8PH and 300ppm, I'm using GHE PH down as other times until 5,5ph. I don't know why, this time few hours later the acidity of the water rise between 1 or 2 point, Any idea what happen?

False reading or Hi PH?Is 20% humus lombrico mixed in my substrate giving a false ‘hi’ ph reading? Or is it truly over the max reading? I got one reading of 7 only at the exact second I took the picture, so I made a video. My water is high in calcium, I recently switched to distilled.
