What is the best wire for LST?

I can tell ya not to use the “garden ties” that basically look like uncut garbage bag ties. Lol I used these last run and they sucked! I even bought them from a Hydroponic store specifically for lst...lol anything thin and hard is no good! Like previous people said, the force/growth of the plant will end in the wires cutting through your branches or strangling them when they grow thicker. I’m going back to my masons rope. Lol mason rope is used by Masonites to rope out strait lines, and it is thin and soft enough to be very manageable but thick enough to not cut your plant. I like to tie a bigger lope around the branch and then tie it down to your anchor spot so you have a larger lope around the branch so it can grow and stretch around it with this rope. Works well for me anyways. Super cheap at any hardware store too and comes in 200+ yards per spool for a few bucks. I’ve also made home Scrog screens with it very successfully. Also good for tieing up large buds that wanna fall over. lots of uses for the stuff. That garden tape stuff sounds interesting too though, I’m gonna check that out too. Lol

Well if you can avoid wire go with something more forgiving on the plant. If you can find that soft wrapped wire with cushiony outside then that’s better than plain old wire...otherwise you can inadvertently cut your plants as they grow if you have too much tension on a wire etc. i like to train my plants while giving them a little flexibility as they try and grow vs being so rigid on them. I prefer to use the flexible garden tape that comes on a roll. You can stretch them out before tying them off or you can keep them taught - i like that flexibility no pun intended. Refer to my public journals veg weeks to see the green tape material i’m referring to. If you then look at the Scrog photos of that same plant in flower you will see how it resulted in a well trained plant with a even canopy. You can find garden tape online or at any garden center for $5 a roll. Google “garden tape” Good luck

I personally like the garden wire with rubber coating. Helps keep anything from digging into your plant. 🤘😤
