I think the key to the mother plant is health. A healthy mother will breed nice clones, an unhealthy or disease/pest infested one will yield such clones and on the battle will go. I think you'll continually need to top amd train to keep it within your size limits, I'd say you want to top and train to make sure she has the strongest stalk you can manage... I don't think I'd necessarily say root bound, but perhaps a somewhat smaller fabric pot so she'll at least have air pruning to her roots. Monitoring the light is surely important to keep her from stretching. Think about bonsai plants...i think there's a lot to learn from other growing techniques that can be used with cannabis.✌️

hey there, the main thing with mothers is finding the pheno that you want to keep, keeping a plant in veg is easy, and it will in and of itself push the pre-flowers you for clones out. If you can throw her in her own 4x4 tent so she has enough space. to be honest i've seen mothers recently and none of them were really trained or anything else. I would basically put her in soil, then when you find your pheno, transplant her, then top up her soil every 4 to 5 weeks and presto : infinity blueberry clones. simple and easy, and you'll really get to see the character of the plant. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Well , firstly you wanna select only the strongest seedlings for mothers and fathers , that being said you wanna grow them like you normally would and train them as such , I recommend "topping and fimming" as a method of training being as you want mother plants for clones you want as many tops as possible to select nice cuttings from to make your clones . The important thing is to keep your mother plants happy and healthy this will give you the best results for your cuttings you wanna turn into clones . With that being said you dont really want them to get root bound because that will stress her out and then when you go to take your cuttings that will stress her out further , do this enough times and you will hermie your plant . The advice I can give you if your space limited for having mothers is that you may wanna LST them train them in such a way were they stay shorter rather then taller this way you can have no fears of running outta room . Typically people will keep them in veg in 20 hour lighting and have their final pot be a 5 gallon pot . This will ensure your roots can expand while giving you the time and growth you need to have a happy mother plant that will give you lots and lots of clones . I hope this information helps you on your quest to becoming a master grower :D :D . -Happy Growing!
