everything is fine, but I don't understand the need for the stick. you can use the wire and bend it in the shape of a u and put it holding the branch straight in the ground. Now the next step is to continue following the growth and making the desired design on your lst. I recommend to keep in mind how you want your plant to be at the end of the training, this will help you a lot to direct the training. good luck.
