Defoliating this early into flowering can definitely force energy into the budsites and if you're getting limited hours of direct sunlight each day I'd want to open those spots up. Personally I'd cut away those 4-6 largest fan leaves that are sticking out off of the main stem on their own, that would open a bit off space but still leave the leaves that are attached to a branch untouched.
I also firmly believe in cleaning up the bottoms of any foliage that is in the shadows, the few times i didn't do this i ended up with a lot more tiny popcorn buds than big solid buds up top. ✌️

It's called defoliation and the best way to use that method is to use it exactly the way you're planning too : only remove the leaves that are blocking light to lower budsites AND as you'r in 1st week if flowering the plant will stretch more and will have a chance to recover. When you defoliate you need to do it carefully as you don't want to stress your girl

How do I figure "wet" weight on this big girl?She's been outside, so I plan to wash the buds and then do a wet cure. (using for edibles). When to start final trimI am on my 15th day of drying and the branches seem to be making dry cracking noises when I bend them. I harvested whitewidow 3 days ago. It had a very strong wet grass smell before i chop and after 3 days of drying i can still smell it in the dry box. It strange because the other two doesnt have this kind of smell. They all grow in the same conditions.. Is this genetics playing?Week 10

Wet trim and get the kief?Is it worth it to pause the drying process and wet trim?
I am mostly asking this since I read it's easier to wet trim and I can hopefully extract some kief from the sugar leaves with a grinder in the process.
