Judging from my first crop’s results, would you say it’s worth getting some biobizz lightmix&nutes? I want to go organic and I feel comfortable with that setup!

Hi there AllTheGreen, first, i'm impressed with your first grow, i'm sure if you join the Newbie contest you will be very competitive ! Second for light mix, i would not recommend it, light mix is peat moss which is first of all unsustainable the way it's mined. Second it's a sterile medium so you have to add your own beneficial bacteria to your medium, it just doesnt make much sense. Third it retains quite a lot of water for quite a long time. That seems like a good thing, but it's really not, it will lead to water stress, some extra difficulty with water mold in the root zone etc. Plus cannabis plants really like wet dry cycles, the quicker the better, that's why coco works so well, and so much better. One thing i do that you can do is to get light mix and soil , then layer your pot. So you start with something on the bottom to do drainage, then mix your light mix with perlite (30%) and your soil with perlite (also 30%) separately , then do one layer light mix, one layer soil, one layer lightmix, one layer soil, seven times or so. That way you have the benefits of light mix and perlite and soil at the same time. The end product just tastes better. For the rest, like biobizz nutrients, they're not my favorite but they're also not the worst, it should be fine to work with it , i'm sure you will do fine. Just one recomendation , when you make your nutrient plant, choose one NPK , always use calmag, and use an additive also, like humic acid, beneficial bacteria, or enzymes. Hope this helps ! 🚀

First I must say, great job with your first grow! Unfortunately I don't have long term experience with Biobizz and weed yet as I'm running my first grow right now, but I've used their soil and nutrients already longer with veggies and I've been very happy. If you want to switch to organic, they're definitely one of the best options out there in my opinion. I'd highly recommend watching their own videos on youtube where they explain about the products beyond what is in the brochures, there's a lot of good information and tips on the use of the line. Just remember with their Light mix that it only gives enough nutrients for the first 1-2 weeks, so you have to feed pretty much through the whole grow (I start with root juice immediately, add a bit of fish mix on 2nd week and then start feeding fully). However, this is nice and gentle for germination/seedlings, and IMO you can give about half of the recommended nutrient amounts.
